- Two men were each sentenced Thursday to 11 years in federal prison for carrying out a violent carjacking at gunpoint in Chicago’s Goose Island neighborhood and leading police on a high-speed chase in 2017 when both were in their late teens.
At a nearly three-hour-long sentencing, U.S. District Judge John Tharp Jr. told Jason Dortch and Davontae Jones that they were lucky the two victims hadn’t resisted even more, resulting in greater injury.
“Somebody could have been killed,” he said.
Now that's the kind of sentence that sends a message. These two mopes mugshots ought to be plastered all over the ghetto that spawned their worthless asses along with a countdown clock for their projected release date - sometime after 80-or-85% of their sentence has been served...around 2025 or 2026 if you count from date of custody.

Aside from the Cook County Democrats FAR left leanings that result in little/no prosecutions or consequences, they blew all their tax money on similar programs and have no money or ability to prosecute or house them. To make sure, they not only closed many Divisions at Cook County Jail, they demolished the buildings to curtail any future attempts at lawful charging, prosecution and incarcerations.

There was nothing in this common everyday Chicago car jack robbery crime and sentencing that couldn’t have been handled at the local level. No way can or should the Fed be doing the work Cook Co collects local taxes for.
As with the Juicy Swollette case, CookCo wanted to smoove it over but laziness, corruption, arrogance and that outside influence caused KmmmFxxxUp to overlook that Federal portion of the crime.
That should have been the red flag signaling corruption.
It’s the citizens that are being scammed by Cook County in addition to be routinely victimized by violent repeat offenders.
Corrupt politics can’t entirely remove these vile elected officials and indictments are not quick enough.
Cook County is proving everyday that they cannot handle the overflowing crime, they routinely release violent armed offenders over and over again to commit the same crimes and activities. If the Fed wants to ease their new found case load (to focus on the corrupt politicians, something even the State AG won’t do) then the Cook Co Judiciary should be declared unnecessary or implement a Federal oversight measure, e.g. Consent Decree because the votes to recall, limit terms are not going to change the entrenched system.
Furthermore, don’t expect every vehicle and foot pursuit that leads to a rare felony approval is going to be a slam dunk Fed case.
Do expect the same felony rejection and COPA mandates.

Are you really trying to equate drug laws to car jacking? They had federal laws against liquor and those didn't work because so many people wanted to drink. Many people equate drugs with a victimless crime. A car jacking has a victim. A direct victim. Ask Larry Hoover if drug laws worked. He spent time in federal prison. They also say capital punishment doesn't work. How many people that have been put to death have murdered again? I don't care if it takes 15 years to execute them, let the appeals run their course because once you put these people in the ground you don't get a do over, so society must be certain this is the one that must die for this crime. I wouldn't mind if they just incarcerated these people for like 30 real years, as long as they spent a full 30 years in prison for their taking of a life.

U may want to do some digging into the command staff in 7. Rumor is a bunch of pos got there cars ticketed because the commander failed to get a courtesy from the meter maids. One of the lots needs resurfacing and it’s deemed to take 4 weeks, but our commander never told anyone. We all think this is his way of screwing us for compstat. As if working in englewood wasn’t hard enough, now we have to deal with looking for safe parking.

i JUST WATCHED THE PRESIDENT OF THE NYC PBA hold a press conference regarding the recommended firing of a NYC police officer in the Eric Garner death. He was forceful and to the point. He advised police officers in NYC not to put their hands on anyone unless they call for a supervisor and their special response unit. He stated that the city, the mayor and the department will not have their backs if something goes wrong and to protect themselves. I could only wish that the head of the FOP would act in a similar manner.

This case involved several members of a small faction of the TVLs in 011. A group of 5 or so of them were suspected in multiple carjackings and shootings/murders over the course of several years. It was actually the state's attorneys that pushed for the federal charges, knowing that local prosecution would ultimately lead to a typical cook county judge's slap on the wrist. This particular faction as a whole, lead by this group of about 5, were wreaking havoc on the west side. Their bullshit started to spill over into 012, 018, 001 etc. The victim pool was spreading into the suburbs as well. This group was responsible for a number of the mass thefts of vehicles from suburban car dealers, carjackings downtown, and very bold murders throughout 011 and 015. As much as I hate that POS foxx, this wasn't a case of her refusing to prosecute. This was the work of a small group of ASAs that still believe in doing their jobs, who knew that these assholes needed to be put away. Foxx definitely wasn't pushing for the feds to get involved, but at least these ASAs had the balls to push for it and follow through. Granted, there is the usual line of little bangers who have filled the empty spots in the ranks, but it is a huge service to the world to have these wastes of breath behind bars for some legitimate time. Now, who should actually get the credit for the arrests? NOT the ones who gave themselves boxes 1 and 2 (and 5, 6, 7 etc.), but that's a different story for a different time.

Prostitution in Chicago is not unlawful if it is sanctioned by the money brokers and disguised at a quasi-public service. Working the door of a bar checking IDs and taking cover charges while on duty and in uniform might be requested later on if the money pit pimps can get a pay out from that task. City labor is the most cost effective labor, to the pimps (not to the tax paying citizens mind you), so it is used when available.
The only outcome which matters per Lollapalooza is: Did the pimps get their money this year? The fallout to any taxpayer is tertiary at best.
