Cops Hurt in Rollover

  • Two Chicago police officers were injured during a traffic crash Wednesday night on the Far South Side. It happened about 6:15 p.m. in the 11500 block of South Michigan Avenue, Officer [...] said.

The police car was southbound on Michigan with its lights and sirens activated when a westbound Ford Explorer broadsided the car on its driver’s side, causing it to flip, police said.

The people in the Explorer declined medical attention and “appear in good shape,” and its driver was cited for failure to yield to emergency vehicles and passing a vehicle on the right shoulder, police and fire officials said.

Two officers suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and they were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to the Chicago Fire Department’s Twitter feed.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Get well officers. It’s hard work like yours that gets stuff done. Guys who actually get up and go to jobs. This July according to hey jackass we are at 45 murders final for July. Last year we had 67 in July. Good work. This is the least amount of homicides in July in the past 49 years.

So, green light, 1st car at intersection sees approaching emergency vehicle and stops but the driver behind him gets pissed and whips around, probably giving him the finger, and t-bones a cop running code? That's brilliant.

Get well soon officers. If you're hurt, stay on IOD until you are healed completely. Do not allow the medical section to hurry you back to work.

God bless.

Dammit to hell this type of 'accident' is getting waaaay to common. And I KNOW that back before Chicago became such a 'diverse' city, and before the Teacher's union destroyed the basic education of students, crap like these 'accidents': Did... Not... Happen!

Now there are people driving who don't speak fucking English, and those who may or may not have a drivers license, and functional illiterates who can't read or understand basic Rules Of The Road.

UGH!!! (rant /off!) ... Get well soon Officers. Hopefully, any injuries are not 'Life-Altering'.

What made that an even more boneheaded move, is that W/B traffic there is stopped on an up hill grade, and the old beauty school on the corner, also makes it a blind spot for the Ave. Good bet they had some of that asinine subsonic base playing in their ride.

Further insanity...
In Pa. If you're gender neutral, you get an "X"
on your driver's license. Does the driver still
have to say to the officer, Yes, Sir; Yes, Ma'am?
What if the cop is gender neutral?
Jon and Ponch are on benders and could not be reached.

I had to cringe while listening to WBBM newsradio this morning. They interviewed some guy said "I HEAR the police speeding up & down the street all the time". Really? Imagine us going into court and saying we "heard" the guy speeding and wrote a ticket. Why does WBBM feel it necessary and/or appropriate to put morons like this on the radio who have no idea what the hell they're talking about?

Hard to hear sirens authorities the ghetto music blasting dark tinted windows also hide lights. To bad it was the CPD taken to hospital instead of the fine community dwellers. Once again take your time and obey all of raffia refs on way to a job. It’s not likely your going to prevent anything anyways. So why rush let it all play out and write the report much safer.

So now we get Ed The Clown bragging about crime down. What he won’t tell the media is that total shootings are up but fewer people room temp. Pretty sure that is not crime down but bad aim is reason for fewer KIA.

**OFF TOPIC**

Go figure, according to the Tribune the offender who did an armed carjacking on the north side and also did the Lincoln Park Attempt CSA/stabbing is what IDOC calls an “abconder.” In other words “he’s on parole, but we don’t know where he is.”
And now the good citizens of Chicago have to hope and pray that they don’t have to accidentally cross paths with an extremely violent and armed individual who is hunting the “nicer” areas of the city.

Thank you IDOC for continuously giving these dirtbags 2nd chances and releasing them, and putting the people who just want to be left alone, and who know how to follow the rules of society at risk.

SHOCKER!
Kids near Chicago surrendered their legal guardianship
to friends or relatives so that the kid would qualify as
financially independent (read: broke). Then the kids
(dozens, not hundreds) qualified for need-based financial
aid. That's like a free ride scholarship. No excellence
required, no brains, no athletic skills. It's a back door for
the unremarkable student.
I got a job so I don't qualify for welfare. Oh shit.
But for my son, I know this shady attorney.......
I don't have $10K to bribe his way in, so I'll go the other
way. Most used the same law firm. That's how they found
the rats.
WTF is next? Disability scholarships?

Yep...crime is down.. I saw it on tv...it must be true !

I think the EMT's are getting so much practice, they are really good at gunshot wounds....and the much closer ride to the U. of C. ER probably has a life saving effect....GSW up,,,murders down....spin..spin...spin. Can't even imagine the medical cost to taxpayers 1,310 shot so far...plus aftercare, medication, and therapy and so on....O... sorry I forgot they all had Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage....no problem.

And then the 270 shot and killed so far this year...with the $6,000.00 burial fee grant direct pay to funeral homes.....oh no I forgot, they had the pre arrangement insurance.

Be safe out there!!!!!

Had an idea, many years ago.

Never did anything with it, too lazy, too familiar with human nature and, back then, seemed a bit too difficult to inspire ambition in the ambitious entrpreneurs.

Something like this:

1. Emergency vehicles equipped with device function that broadcasts single stream signal whenever any emergency annoucing other devices are activated; lights, sirens, whatever is relied upon to notify public driving to get the fuck out of the way.

2. As an add on to private vehicles, a receiver of this single signal, perhaps interfaced with audio system, that produces both an audio sound unmistakable and unignorable, when within, say, 300 yards or so from the emergency vehicle broadcasting said signal, as in emergency vehicle is center of 300 yard radius of circle of signal broadcast reception.

3. A steep falloff in reception by device in private vehicles begins as distance from emergency vehicle broadcasting is increased beyond 300 yard radius.

Of course, besides being pretty lazy, I figured the requirement for both emergency vehicles purchasing and installing plus the likelihood that private vehicles would not be required to come with the receivers plus the likelihood of not many private vehicles owners' investing in purchasing and installing after market devices, led me to conclude not gonna bother.

It does always come back to fucking human nature.

Running hot exponentially increases the need to be more cautious.

So, whenever anyone accuses me of driving like I'm an old lady, I merely smile.

That’s gonna hurt for a few days.
The convalescence period hopefully change ones idea about that over eagerness to get involved in bs community affairs.

Wonder what was it that was so important it required hasty travel on or about 115th & Mich.
C’mon man...fully stop at the lights, pot headed, cellphone jaw’n, bass thumpt hot chip’n dip drivers ain’t got no time to pay no attention.

Rubbing some dirt on it, uprighting the sled and forging on another night for numbers has its setbacks.
Counting on Groot to spend some sanctuary money on new vehicles isn’t going to happen, not even if FOP writes it into the negotiations.

Putting goose eggs on the humper is much safer.

You automatically don’t get right of way, all these people have to yield first then you get a right of way. Simply you have to clear lane by lane. Radio/ac on, traffic, you name it. You chance it by rushing you might get t boned.
