Justified - Three Years Later

  • Chicago's police oversight board has determined a sergeant was justified in killing a fleeing 19-year-old three years ago because the dead man was carrying a gun as the officer claimed.

No gun was found at the scene on the November 2016 day that Kajuan Raye was shot in the back by [...], who claimed the suspect pointed a gun at him. [...] was chasing Raye after a report of a battery in progress. A gun found under bushes in front of a house and recovered by police three months after the shooting was linked to Raye.

Public Radio WBEZ reports Civilian Office of Police Accountability on Monday concluded a combination of circumstantial, physical, testimonial, and social media evidence make it "likely and reasonable" the gun was in Raye's possession at the time of the incident.
Amazing how the powers-that-be insist on rushing to judgement in so many cases, but drag out other cases for years on end.

The Community Outrage machine was running at
full speed and it looked really bad for the
Sergeant.

...Then the gun was found.

Thank goodness a decent citizen found it and
called it in before some other death-loving
shithead could abscond with it.

If this was the shooting involving a Sgt on midnights in 007, they also had recorded calls from Cook County jail. On those calls in the days after the shooting, the offenders relatives are talking with another relative who was in jail. They tell the inmate the offender had a gun, but it was picked up and stashed.

The sergeant in the same situation may now have make a statement within ten minutes of the event so long as there was some bystander who could also proffer a statement if this happened again in modern times... DEMANDS ON LAW CHICAGO ENFORCEMENT TO CHANGE SOON! So the activists yearn for.

Three years ago would seem like a golden age with different rules if the new standard comes into effect.

The "powers-that-be" don't care much for the rank & file of the department. They only care about protecting their phoney baloney jobs. Everyone else is expendable.

If he was "heavy as fuck" he wouldn't of been a Sgt in 007. Now STFU.

Let’s not forget... due to the fact that this incident didn’t look good in the beginning because no gun could be found he was stripped. They looked back and are now trying to fire him for something unrelated from an old CR number. He is still stripped now pending a review of that case which was for another shooting it in 019 years ago that was a news worthy event. That shooting was also deemed justified by ipra which they reopened after this shooting. Knee jerk reaction and figured if the second shooting looked bad they had to hammer them so reopen the first shooting. That’s the mentality.

This SGT is also an attorney. Not some moron. I’m sure any firing and or wrongdoing and a nice suit was going to hit the city.

It was likely and reasonable that L M was displaying a knife when his criminal rampage was halted by JVD.

Attorney and moron are not mutually exclusive, and he may fit the bill on both. He'll probably eventually be fired for the bar he allegedly owned in Lincoln Park. Yep, smart!

Wrong. Just like heavy people don't go to 011. They spend a little time to fluff the resume and go off to the good life. He is heavy, he is an ass kisser, he never did a thing and this may have been his first foot chase. Not a bad guy though.
