Drive-By Gone Awry - Again
- Prosecutors say a participant in a botched drive-by shooting in Chicago will likely face murder charges for allegedly fatally wounding the driver of the vehicle he was shooting from.
Matthew Gibson was pronounced dead earlier this week at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Cook County prosecutors say Jake Lee, the passenger who allegedly shot the 26-year-old Gibson, is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and is facing murder charges.
Prosecutors say Gibson on Sunday pulled alongside an SUV and Lee, seated in the front passenger seat, began firing at the SUV with a handgun. During the shooting, Gibson was accidentally shot in the head.

You should be thanking whoever 199 is. It takes balls to call off any pursuit. But as u say the car is starting to hit heavy traffic. He becomes desperate and who knows what he does next. What if he ran over someone crossing the street like happened a month ago on LSD? Then everyone would be saying why didn’t he call it off. Also, let’s say u finally catch him and then u bring him back and the shit head that got shot doesn’t want to cooperate. Now you’ve got nothing. Is the risk of catching a shooter that shot another shithead worth some innocent kid getting killed crossing a street? Or a family in a car getting broadsided by this guy desperately trying to get away. Nope. Unless it’s police involved, u should never chase. You’ve got to get this through your head otherwise you’re going to wind up on the shit end of a multimillion dollar lawsuit. Also, Chasing someone into the downtown business district is a never going to be allowed. Never.
Obviously the guy who shot his fellow communerty member was not allowed to take a basic firearm safety course due to lack of economic opportunity.

Listen here son, that SUV was eventually going to plow through cars and people to evade the police. Now you’re looking at innocent people getting hurt and killed. Is it worth it? You are a idiot. So the car was heading downtown. There was a pedestrian killed on LSD a few weeks ago after a terminated chase. That Lt. save some coppers from punitive damages if things went South.

His organs are going to be donated, wonderful. I sure hope they run every test in the book on them to make sure they're not 'contaminated' with any disease, toxins, whatever.
