- A terrifying ordeal for a mother and her three children. A drive-by shooting in East Pittsburgh last night sent bullets flying into the family’s home, narrowly missing them. The mother says without a local police force to call, it took over an hour to get help.
The State Police Barracks In Moon now covers East Pittsburgh Borough, nearly 30 miles away. East Pittsburgh’s police department disbanded months ago due and residents feared this would be the result, more crime and help far away.
And why are the police responding from so far away....from another jurisdiction in fact?
- With East Pittsburgh’s Police department disbanding several months ago due to financial stress and following the tragic Antwon Rose shooting, the family was already worried. State Police located in Moon Township on the other side of the county now covers the Borough.
The city council - at the insistence of the "community" - disbanded the police force following a shooting. A shooting for which the officer was charged with First Degree Murder, and then acquitted by a jury. Now they're whining about the emboldened criminal element shooting up the town, stabbing people and generally wreaking havoc across the town.

The “community” continues to exhibit their collective stupidity demanding a police department be “disbanded”, especially in a crime-ridden area. Who do they call now when jr. refuses to go to school, or they want the police when the drunk uncle wont leave ? The usual ghetto calls.
Let's send Ald. La Shawn Ford over there as a consultant. No police presence due to community demands, you say? Maybe our idealistic young leader can convince their local gov't to fully arm the populace. There surely won't be any more violence after that.

If the police department was disbanded, then who was doing all of the shooting in the drive-by? Police do all of the shooting in Chicago. In fact, the south and west sides are incredible places of joy, community, and fellowship until the police come through and shoot everyone. I am baffled.

Wonder when a black politician will finally get the balls to start telling the truth? Let’s face it, 95% of black people want nothing but to live their lives, raise their children, be left alone and have no problem following the law just like every other citizen in America. When Preckwinkle or others say that there are too many black or brown people incarcerated and it’s the fault of the racist system you have to wonder when the community will have had enough. Who do these politicians think the victims of the majority of these offenders crimes are? I would venture to guess that 90-95% of the victims are also black or brown. It’s not the police who are making these communities unlivable, it’s the people who also happen to be black or brown.
You would think that the community members would be up in arms demanding that their communities be rid of those who are dangers to their property, their peace, and most of all their children.

It's gonna happen in Chicago too. Everyone will be fired except the exempts on a Monday in cold January. Anyone that wants the job of police will be offered the job at $20 an hour. The accountants know that 80-90% will take the job for a short time while looking for another job. The total police number will whittle down to 2500 within 2 years and they will all be Sjw types that are already doing social work for $25 k a year.

Every aggrieved, vengeance-seeking community
should be given the Police leaving them alone
they've been howling and crying for all these years.

The State Police aren’t responding from “another jurisdiction”. They are state police. The whole state is their jurisdiction.
County Sheriffs Police regularly respond to calls in unincorporated areas that are 30 miles apart.
This community got what they asked for. Now they can enjoy the response time.
State Reps and Alds are liars and crooks. The only difference is their governmental titles and duties.
