- District level "courtesy" for certain events is done now?
- churches, especially on the south and west sides, can expect strict parking enforcement by officers - and the "revrunds" and aldercreatures who call to complain will be told to stuff it?

They still grant courtesy parking. Captain KoolAid Kane has his 5th watch crew enforce it. The command van couple have earned in OT alone, 100k and 80k respectively year to date. You read that correctly...in addition to their normal pay. The 5th watch was created to circumvent your contractual rights to OT offered. These two swipe in and go shopping for snacks for the bike teams. They write ANOVs and tows on Clark and Halsted EVERY night. In other words, they perform the same function as the on duty units at more than 3 times the price. And these are just the two most egregious examples. All of this 5th watch is garnering the vast majority of OT in 019. The new commander is clueless. Kane is part of the OT as well. The IG is so far ignoring this...but grievances are proceeding.
and don't forget the airports too....
A few months ago a notice came out saying that there was no courtesy parking in the co book. When the Lt read it out at roll call I said, so now we can cite the west side churches that double park and block traffic. The Lt laughed and said do that and see how fast the aldermand will call the district commander. He was not threatening me but pointing out the circus of hypocrisy.

Well..
I have part of an answer to this.
Regarding the Churches and etc..... If a CDOT permit hasn't been Pulled, You should be issuing the tickets.
Regarding the CPD Lots... It is Marked as Police Personal Parking only. Not hard to run a plate to see if the owner is detailed to that district.
As for telling people to stuff it. I'd suggest a stock answer: "It is illegal to park a vehicle in X location regardless of what day of the week it is."
And this covers areas around Temples and Mosques, during the week, not just Churches on the Weekends.
Why treat the Bible Belt differently from the followers of the Torah and the Quran?
IE: Don't park Illegaly just to go to Church/Temple/Mosque.
And if you guys are actually going to go there, Don't do it in half measures. This has to happen in all districts, not just the South and West Side ones. The ones on the North and NW sides as well as the SW sides as well.
The City and County Heavy Wards, as it were. Like 41 and 38 and 45 and 29 and 11 and 14 and 19.
And as for letting the Media Know. Set Up a Twitter account and don't use it for anything. Have it go to a blind email account that isn't used for anything and can't be tied to you.

I do. I've also made a certain alderperson not park their M plate on Warren near the US without getting a Greater West Side Parking Permit for the car.
Seriously, what family member of Ferguson was turned away at 019. As for parking downtown-on duty-with a placard, maybe the city should designate parking for the police on every block in the loop. They didn't get the treasure trove of corruption with the BWC (just the opposite), now lets just get petty.

But until it does, contact the IG when "courtesy parking" gets placed in the CO Book for certain south / west side churches. Contact the IG when Alderscum asks to park in your lots or you observe their car parked there. Take a picture in both instances and send it in.

New York city cops all have a placard which they call a badge that they display in the window of thier personal vehicles when parking. It is sanctioned by the city, but the city moves traffic court to downtown and the police have to pay. Side note, while working a side job downtown I see that UPS trucks never get tickets but FedEx and other trucks get hammered big time and certain managers and workers in places that the revenue folks visit never get tickets. Mid 80's. Watch Commander reminded roll call that it's Sunday. No parking tickets especially around 117th /Indiana. Double parking in street,in front of hydrants, cars everywhere. Also only day without stand up roll call.
Someone mentioned the storefront churches that park on the streets blocking the lawful flow of traffic. Ogden Avenue, a major thoroughfare, gets blocked regularly just east of Pulaski. They just block the street and put barricades up at will. And the best part is when the gangbanger "religious" services let out. They block the street, hang out the windows of the cars, smoke weed, openly consume alcohol and knuckleheads congregate in the street blocking the lawful flow. All without any police response to ticket the illegal parkers and curb the bad behavior which puts the general public at risk. Some communities just do whatever they want to do without being checked.
Let’s hope that the coppers start writing the tickets around the church is this is what they want there is a job that is what we are supposed to be doing anyway why aren’t we doing it? Take a photo of all illegally parked revrun,alderscum, media, etc. With your department issued cellular phone and send them to your department email. This is all within department guidelines due to using department equipment for official purposes in that you are preserving evidence while enforcing the law. If by some chance that beef comes down you have all the proof that you need for your lawsuit and there is nothing that the city nor copa can say or do about it. Just be advised, DO NOT use personal phones or email for any if this!

I think I see how this is going. If you are the police and you get or give a fellow officer some type of courtesy for parking at an event, they will file charges against you. If you are a connected person and you park where you want and get a ticket, they will non-suit the ticket . The private parking company that handles the area around Sox park has been issuing placards for a long time for courtesy parking on city streets. It is not the police that are using these placards, but connected people. Sos security rides around in carts to help this along. Nothing new here. The IG just likes to screw with cops, the low hanging fruit.
Years ago I ticketed a bunch of church goers on the westside parked on the sidewalk. Thought it was pretty clear that was against the law. The front office at the district made my tickets none readable and sent them back to me. the commander had me concealed by by a sgt Never had tickets retuned before this or after so I learned real fast who was in charge here. Rules don't apply to all just remember that. 19 years and counting......

Got called in to nonsuit some that happened to be "parishioners" of a heavily connected rev/police board member. I refused as I reminded the W/C of the stink in the news. However, I do believe that by the time it made it to the d/c the parkers went byebye. When working in 006, the illegal parking at fakers place was out of control and we were told to let them alone, even when neighbors had legitimate complaints.
