Media, this is how the city plays the numbers. 1. They low ball this year's end of year numbers with "death investigation" classifications and other games. 2. They shout the lower numbers, particularly to keep them under round thresholds like 500. 3.The media mindlessly reports the given figures with no investigative journalism. 4. By next summer, they begin to reclassify this year's death investigations as homicides. Why you ask? Because then they can increase the 2019 numbers without anyone caring,because it's old news AND then the 2020 numbers have to compete against the higher 2019 numbers. The hope ofcourse is always to try and minimize the uptick in homicides.if you don't believe me, do your homework and try to prove this wrong. This is the Chicago way. P.S. we have more homicides and shootings than New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco COMBINED.
Watch how many days it stays at 496!!!!

Expressway counted, investigated by other law enforcement, I.e feds uic, counted. Wouldn’t surprise me if we were currently over 600.
For once I would like to see the dumb media ask the question. Why is it that you said the count was under 500 last year and now it’s over 500.
