The number crunchers forgot to count the homicide of the college student at UIC in the parking garage and the homicide in the Metropolitan Correctional Center because they did not handle the investigation. That is just a couple of examples.
The shitcago 500, good tourism selling point. Come to the jewel nestled by lake michigan, known for its fine dining, architecture, ethnic diversity, and 3000 people shot per year.

Here's a short history of 011 as we see it:
2015: 53 homicides, 312 wounded
2016: 96 homicides, 513 wounded
2017: 69 homicides, 397 wounded
2018: 69 homicides, 375 wounded
2019 to date: 70 homicides, 311 wounded
Without looking, we suspect that these numbers rival or best many, if not most major metro areas.

It's probably well over 500 now. Not only are Hey Jackass' numbers more accurate, no one has taken into account the dozen or so "death investigations" lingering out there that are actual murders.

They didn't handle those investigations because those incidents didn't happen in Chicago.
The UIC murder is on State property and the Illinois State Police/University Police have jurisdiction.
The MCC is Federal property.
How about the two murders on the I 90/94 & I55 shooting galleries if I remember right there were three more murders within corporate boundaries.
Those numbers could be a footnote in the “Things to do in Chicago” brochures. Make the city look more lively. Maybe even get a chance to be part of a shooting. Sure beats the “guided tour” walking arm in arm with reverends down a interstate highway.
Trust me, most of us would love to leave 011. Commander here is blocking people from leaving left and right.

Homicides are down thanks to cook county. Not prosecuting murderers allowed them to shoot other murderers. Not sure if the surrouning burbs and taxpayer areas loooove cook county. High taxes and they have a 200-300% spike in homicides in the civilised region. Keep listening to the fake stats that only apply to the over patrolled hood that flushes the crime and spreads it. Are they trying to create a Detroit or are they too dumb to realize their mistakes. Either way a failure and a joke. I hope 2020 brings some outside management of the Cook County system from D.C. This is the U.S. my parents cane here to get out of the shit and make a better life for us.

I was born on the west side and would often visit my grandparents who lived on Monroe just east of Cicero, nice little two flat.
They were among the last of neighborhood to finally move due to "demographic changes" in the neighborhood, and it was a real shame. I loved going down there to visit and occasionally stay with them. As a 4 year old you don't understand the ground shifting underneath everybody else's feet, but to say they were forced to move out of their longtime home would be an understatement.
Shame what's going on down in those neighborhoods right now.

Regardless of if we hit 500 or not, I think you have to give credit to 016 for contributing to the tally. That slaughter in the condo building, though an anomaly, plus the recent stabbing at 5000 blk of Irving, plus the homicide near Touhy and Harlem, are definitely over the top numbers.

Saadia wasn’t merit. Gene Williams gave her the answers to the Lt’s test when she was his administrative sergeant. She actually cheated. She got upset and kicked him to the curb when he shared the answers with Fenner and Ward who just couldn’t keep quiet. She hates everyone including herself.
