This Sounds Soooooo Familiar

  • A Chicago mob figure convicted in the landmark Operation Family Secrets investigation more than a decade ago was arrested Tuesday on new federal charges alleging he stole from Social Security.

Michael “Mickey” Marcello, the half-brother of former Outfit boss James Marcello, was indicted on a charge he stole more than $44,000 in Social Security funds between September 2017 and May 2019.

Marcello, 68, of west suburban Wood Dale, pleaded not guilty to the one count of theft in a brief hearing in U.S. District Court and was later released on his own recognizance.

His attorney, Catharine O’Daniel, said Marcello will fight the charge.
Fight the charge? Why bother? You can plea multiple felony charges down to a few months home confinement and pinky-promise to pay all the money back at no-interest, just like a certain police commander. Goose, Gander, equality before the law and all that, right?

Investigators are digging into Joe Berrios’ time in office, in addition to his various political organizations..."

I guess the only way to pull this crime off is to not take said body to the funeral home or be allowed to pass away in a hospital/assisted living residence for the old folks.

Hopefully, Mr Marcello will be allowed to spend his time at home if he should be found guilty. Only fitting for a man of 68. Best f luck to you, Mickey.

Did not the commander steal more in total?
And for a greater # of years, something like 23?
Mob usually keeps their hands out of Uncle Sam's
till, directly of course. This would be equivalent to
killing a Federal Agent, a BIG no-no.
(Attention, and all that stuff)

There is something in the financial world know as
'alternative information' or something of that sort.
Hedge funds use it to guage economic conditions using
information not readily found on conventional economic
sites such as Bloomberg or the Wall Street Journal.
A "Hedgie" would say things are pretty damn bad in America
if a Mafiosio has to steal from Social Security. Then again,
none of those guys ever had to scramble for a buck anyway.
In the case of our CPD brother, it was pure greed. The man
had a full time job with health and retirement benefits.

Well, in "Goodfellas" the guys received fresh steaks and
garlic, in addition to cooking provisions and utensils
(razor blades). For our local man can we expect home
confinement with Harold's catering?

The “G” will spend a million to convict a low level outfit guy that allegedly stole $ 44K but they can’t, won’t lock up street gangs on the South and West sides. “ Whoever sold you those suits had a real sense of humor and how come you’re not on Wall St. getting the real criminals?♠️

As they say, if you don't like the weather, just wait a day.
Yesterday, Herb Dilla was public enemy #1.
How quickly we forget about Social Security rip offs, which
is really OUR money. In the business, Herb Dilla is what's
called a "slow news day."

I don’t understand how people in Chicago can run this Social Security scam. Every time I have had a loved one die, the FUNERAL HOME reports it to Social Security. Do these people not bury or cremate their dead? Or are the funeral homes in Chicago on the take too?

At Mickey Marcello's 2008 sentencing hearing,
prosecutors said he was in o.c. for more than a decade
and had evaded more than $1M in taxes. So that's over
$3 M in illegal income. Big time.

Ipso posto shitco.
Commander KJ. The script just writes itself.
Thing is, you would have to pay the originals for their
story, and since nearly everyone in town is a criminal,
that would be illegal. So it unfolds here daily sort of
as a nonprofit.

--- can you imagine how many shitheads (black and white) are getting away with the same thing right now? I mean, how easy would this be to investigate - you go through the death records and see who is still drawing a check

WTF Feds - how about it?

Ex-copper turned funeral director here- If we file a death certificate electronically through the Illinois Vital Records System, it automatically notifies S.S. of the death. If we do it the old paper way, we're supposed to fill out and mail to S.S. the "Statement of Death by Funeral Director" within 7 days of the loved ones passing. Some funeral peoples in the "Community" operate in a scuzzy manner (hence the wild procession task force, garage embalmers and red & gold hearses).
