Why is VRI Moving?
Supposedly, moving from the basement of 011 to HQ.
Are any of the CTA stations being patrolled near 3510?
Where are officers supposed to park? Last we checked, the lot there was packed.
And the bosses are okay with giving up ten or more parking spots to the VRI cans that drop off the officers to their posts? Which dollies are going to have to park out in the hood?

Are they serious? More units to HQ? Does anybody there that has designated parking spots realize how messed up the parking situation is over there? It's embarrassing that a church lot needs to be utilized to somewhat address the overflow parking instead of fixing the problem.

Apparently Larry Litegroot has given CPD exactly zero dollars to open area 4/5. Full scramble trying to find furniture and computers for the new areas with no money. Not to mention CPD threw out all the old furniture when closing the areas. Gotta love the second biggest dept and just how little is invested to make the job easier. But she did find money to rehab the horses stables.
That merit piece of shit varrick Douglas is going to run VRI out of HG. That triple merit noble fraternity brother can even run water out of a faucet let alone VRI. One of the stupidest bosses by far.
Making room for gun, sat, and gang teams I presume. Why doesn't vri or the aforementioned groups go to Homan square? Plenty of unused space and parking.
HQ lot more then half empty by the time VRI starts. And what does a handful of vans do for parking? Probably have the train detail walk over at some point. Keep getting that activity though...
Your assuming your allowed to drive a car to 2ork. New plans call for CPD to ride CTA to work site. That way there will be more police to witness crime on CTA. Second and Third shifts will be exempt as late night service is terrible. Enjoy the journey folks. What could go wrong. The up side is you will be allowed to ride free.
Moving out of 011 because of all the new area 4 saturation, gang, gun bike Tex etc teams needing room. VRI being moved to 35th temporarily until a new facility can be found, more than likely 18th and state once the deputy chiefs office gets moved out back to 51st and wentworth.
There is no reason that the goofs at New Affairs have as many parking spots designated for them.
They do because they can.

This department has created so many special unit that nobody fall under the contract anymore.
Maybe they can get advice from the boss who created the academy parking plan.

Anyone remember having to show up at O’Hare airport for that TSA OT detail... they had a mobile trailer outside of their building, a new DC finally gave us temps permission to enter the sacred dome for roll calls and check off.
VRI could become a rolling venue, like a circus caravan.
A ringmaster, plenty of clowns, just need them sideshow acts to give the folks some feel good.
If it’s CTA DotCops VRI (Fed grant money) then a bus or trail mobile is plausible.
CTA shuttles their own and use old buses for their construction teams.

City figured out there is no need for vans when you have metra 1/2 block away. Finding legal parking for your personal car on the street is on you.
Why is everything your police department do such a mess? Sounds like half your leadership should be fired and the other half relieved of duty. Does this have anything to do with this “merit” system you have? If it does you need to stop it immediately.
How about just abolish the unit and have all officers meet in 018 it would save the city millions.
No need for a command staff just run it out of the district like housing.

Just broker a deal with IIT or De LaSalle HS for parking. The city will over pay of course, its the city way "I got a guy" still flourishes...
"Doctorate" from Argosy University. It's a a for profit diploma mill. It got closed down last year. That doctorate diploma isn't even worth the paper it's written on. An associate degree from an accredited city college has more value.

You must be new. The original TSA detail was out of the the sublevel of the old control tower. It then moved to the basement of the parking garage.
Its moving because the asshole boss who thought this dumb shit up is looking for another undeserved promotion!
