Ninety-five So Far

According to Interim Beck, ninety-five members (ninety-two sworn, three civilians) have tested positive for COVID-19.

Also according to his e-mails, Part II of the Sergeants Test has been delayed indefinitely due to (A) problems with the Fire Department test and (B) the governor's order regarding large gatherings and (C) the testing company worried about safety.

We read this as "don't expect anything until after the summer killing season." More time to study.

Was gonna study my ass off because of the no merit Beck was doing but since the new guy is taking over I'm giving up since he is bringing merit back, there's no point anymore.

Around 60 sgts short as of today

The suspended promoted group would add about 40 (70 in Sgt school, but 30 in Lt school as a loss to Sgt numbers)

About 50 more sgts will retire by the end of the year, not including the 200 additional sgts needed by the consent decree:

Probably another 100 off this list

I just have to say supervisors need to start screening everyone as they come into work.....pop a fever or have other symptoms? Home you go.......to the asshats that have symptoms but come to work because they don't want to give up the overtime?? shame on you....your ass should be sitting in jail for willfully endangering the lives of your co-workers, their families, and anyone else you come in contact with.

To the districts still holding traditional roll calls? Are you nuts?? Have important info to share with the troops? Do mass text.....do roll call outside with everyone practicing proper social distancing. Maybe everyone should be wearing masks while in the close confines of the station?

Masks and gloves are available here.....

And once summer/fall comes and goes, there will be a Budget crisis and hiring - promotion freeze.
Part 2 could take a year, and if there’s any leveling of the playing field needed to satisfy any consent decree mandates, Pt 2 could be waived because the last exam List is exhausted of choice picks.

Remember, Part 1 had a high 80’s percentile Pass rate...lots and lots of quality smarties packed in there.

Chicago Lawn has a dozen cases , place blame for half on the merit sergeant that ordered his team to make arrests during this pandemic .
City of Chicago Health Department , OSHA , BGA , Investigative reporters whys isn't 8 and every other District , Unit with more than one case being shut down , deep cleaned .
LL it's on you , get these officers tested before it spreads to other Police Officers , Citizens of Chicago .
Why are District lobbies open for walk in complaints , reports and why are homeless allowed to camp out in a police facility.
As a tax payer , why are teachers receiving full pay ?
CPD Academy is down , what about CFD Academy ? Are you and fire chief endangering Firefighter Candidates , Instructors and their families

Even if your supervisor won't let you make an exposure report, document it yourself, and be sure to note the date, time & name of supervisor who refused to allow you to report your exposure. If nothing else, for the civil suit. You don't know what illness(es)/damage you'll develop years from now.

How many members get the flu each year, on average?

4/08/2020 08:53:00 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

92 out of 13,000. About 0.7%. The average for Illinois is about 0.1%. But keep in mind cops are first in line for testing so that skews the percentages by a lot.

By some estimates as many as 10% of the population has been infected with most having no or mild symptoms.

If 10% have been infected that would suggest 90 positive results from testing from every 900 cops tested. It would be unsurprising if 900 cops had been tested.
