So when do Units get shut down to isolate personnel, clean building interiors, clean all interior equipment, and thoroughly clean squads? The city and department doesn’t want to excite the public with the lack of police protection and leak to the bad guys that there’re fewer cops on the street in certain areas. First Responders always forced into the abyss by the city and department, but last to think of when it comes to equipment and safety.
It was just a matter of time. Their numbers are way smaller than on the watch in any district so the 12hr days are a must at this stage.
There are not enough anyway. Wake up Chicago! You actually have to fund and staff a police force.
Shared vehicles. Collection of biological evidence (blood, saliva, CSA kits) which is then transported in vehicles with no separate compartments to safely isolate it inside the vehicle. I have to take a family member to Lutheran General on a constant basis and it’s a literal ghost town. I don’t know where the media is filming people dying and suffering in hospital hallways waiting to get treated because it’s not happening there.

1st responders are being tested at around 500 a day. There is a 10 day delay for the results. Easily 3-5k first responders in cook County undiagnosed and worried enough they may have it. It is way under reported! First responder neighborhoods are letting their kids play together, garage parties, crowded park. wife had a gf go to the deli for provisions. She was the only person wearing a mask, crowded place, and the workers made fun of her. We are in for a world of hurt

They even keep Deputies on quarantine tiers 12 hours a day with no relief. Some even have to stay for hours more after their shift...still on quarantine tiers. Absolutely unacceptable. They even threaten Deputies with being disciplined for referring to inmates as being quarantined. Unbelievable!!! To add insult to injury there are those "special" Deputies that get a pass on working these infectious tiers. Someone should check manpower assignments and schedules so that we can see who is not put in the hot zone and why. I encourage Deputies to tell what is really going on in that mismanaged hell hole.

Thank you for saying this. The only people who are hung up on Conspiracy theories happen to be Bernie Sanders voters...and that other guy. It's just sad you even have to say this. People are dying, and it's not just a really wicked strain of the flu.
Let's be honest the people working at grocery stores or similar establishments are at a higher rate to this this nasty disease than us. I'd estimate over a third of us (not me) work inside. Ones outside are in a squad all day. The reason this is spreading is because of our dumbass bosses. We were having indoor roll calls up until the last week of March. Working with different people everyday (who may be infected) in cars that could simply be cleaned with some fucking lysol spray. Instead we have recruits using dirty rags and some shit disinfectant. Pretty sure I have. Bad dry cough for 2 days, kept under control with over-the-counter syrup. Felt lousy, but then got better.
And here I am tell you all about it.
I should add that I am not overweight, do not have diabetes, am not an octogenarian
and have never smoked anything.
Please people stop using the news or Facebook and check the numbers yourselves. CDC website has a great amount of information, up to date to week as of the first week of April. Look at the data it does not have a political agenda, Republican or Democrat.

Heard it’s 5 E.Ts in 4 days. It will spread like rapid fire with the conditions of Homan and how little room they have. These guys work In the smallest office yet have all the biological and blood crap we see on scenes. They equipment room is the size of a walk -in closet. You are not gonna believe what is going on with SWAT!! Total chaos and mutiny involving certain sergeants and the merit hack Lieutenant.
They are almost going to blows over the airport overtime initiative. SWAT will NO longer be working at O'Hare for OT. A SWAT operator was
caught sleeping and a certain SWAT SGT was found AWOL. Here we are in the midst of this pandemic and these ass clowns are worried
about their overtime. #2 Johnny “Overtime” is so upset that he won’t make 280k with the airport being gone. He’s a big crybaby with a stupid
haircut, that whines about not being made merit LT. He’s been involved in two shootings. Unfortunately, they were both “blue on blue” during
training when he shot other SWAT officers. Hahaha. Barnaby Circus could do all the recruiting for the clowns from our SWAT team.
When every ET is at the Sgt's test and the Det's test, you know the Unit is no good. Years ago ET's didn't even bother with tests. There was no reason to leave. Now there is no reason to stay. Better quality of life in a beat car, pretty sad. So much for having experienced ET's there for a long time. First chance to leave and people bail out.
Yes, can the districts please stop serving donated food to officers with no regard for the current current global pandemic. Look at the department Facebook or district twitter pages. Officers using the same serving utensils, eating pizza out of boxes that are touched by every officer that opens the lid. Boxes of cookies and donuts not individually wrapped and out in the open to be served buffet style. It’s one thing to have moronic leadership but for the love of god how can you not be educated enough at this time to at least protect yourself, your fellow officers and your family?

Be more specific. First off they're working out in the parking lot and vehicle bays. So are a few females from homan who are from which unit? Because it's not SWAT. Maybe the fact that some officers take care of themselves is exactly why they're not getting sick. I may take my fat ass down there and join them.

Sorry but just because you have a dry cough doesn’t mean you have Covid19. Do your colleagues a favor and get tested and stay home until you find out. FYI...people still get the common cold too.
Everyone keeps repeating "comorbidities" despite the fact that the WHO keeps trying to warn countries that a growing number of younger people with no underlying conditions are dying and having severe illness. There is much debate as to why it affects people differently (cytokine storms, ACE2, TLR3) but the fact is that a certain percentage of younger people with no underlying conditions will fall severely ill and die.

Another thing to remember is that most countries and US states are not including people who die at home in reporting their Covid-19 fatalities unless the person already had a positive test before death. Since younger people are told to ride out the virus at home, those who die without being hospitalized or tested prior to death are largely not included in the official stats, and this under-represents the younger population.
ET is a job that serves the ghetto , burglary after burglary , sexual assaults , collecting semen , blood , dusting for prints in roach infested apartments , houses . In court a few days a week . It is understaffed , unit should be a minimum 200 ET's 40 FI's
