Those items are long gone and I have yet to discover where I can obtain replacements in my unit.
And while on the subject regarding the cloth masks which coppers had to sign for and are “required” to wear:
How in the actual fuck can the department be so ass backwards to issue a PPE item - a Personal PROTECTIVE equipment item - that’s clearly marked as “ No guarantee from infection, use at your own risk“?

Washington State Is Classifying Several Shootings as COVID-19 Deaths
Washington epidemiologists have admitted that multiple victims of gunshot wounds who had also been diagnosed with coronavirus have been counted as COVID-19 deaths, although they say deaths from the virus are still likely being undercounted in the state.
Epidemiologists with the Washington State Department of Health said that the “number of nuances” in coronavirus data makes it difficult to render a quick assessment in the cause of death. The state is currently counting anyone that dies with COVID-19 in its death toll.
“We currently do have some deaths that are being reported that are clearly from other causes. We have about 5 deaths less than 5 deaths that we know of that are related to obvious other causes. In this case, they are from gunshot wounds,” said Dr. Katie Hutchison, Health Statistics Manager for the Washington State Department of Health.
The state is currently reviewing between 20 and 30 similar cases to understand what role — if any — coronavirus played in the deaths, Hutchison said, adding the process will take between six and 12 months.

I listened to this interview. The women is a well established researcher on the effectiveness of respirators and surgical masks. What she did say is a cloth mask is useless. She also said wearing a surgical mask does have some benefit to protect a person from spray from coughing or sneezing, but is not designed to protect you from micro particles because of leakage around the sides. The best is a respirator. Her point is to not let wearing a mask give you a false sense of complete protection, you must still social distance. She did not say that wearing a surgical mask has no utility. But, JB and Lori are going too far when they say that wearing a mask is permanent until a vaccine is developed.

A. The Masks are Bullshit as is this whole "pandemic" . We all know it except the sheep. The wolves know it's political chess.
B. Superintendent was always a figurehead. The first deputy superintendent actually ran the police department. You obviously don't have long on the job if you don't know that. Especially Jack Townsend. No one, not even Daley told him what to do.
C. Everyday Brown spends at 35th Street is one day closer to his abysmal failure and leaving this city in disgrace. He's over his head and under qualified. Much Heralded is not something you can write about yourself. Has anybody else written that about him? The answer is no. He does not deserve to wear this uniform. He is not a real policeman.
