Board of Ed Vote
By a 4-3 vote, CPD will remain in where they aren't wanted for some odd reason:
- A vote by a deeply divided Chicago Board of Education to end its contract with the Chicago Police Department has failed, split along gender lines.
The $33 million agreement pays for police officers who are stationed in schools. Students protested the board vote last year, accusing the district of turning schools into miniature police stations, but the pressure has been even greater following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
The board was heavily split on the matter, with three members — Elizabeth Todd-Breland, Luisiana Melendez and Amy Rome — voting in favor of ending the police contract, while Board President Miguel del Valle, Vice President Sendhil Revuluri and members Dwayne Truss and Lucino Sotelo voted to keep police in schools.
Despite vocal opposition to having the resource officers in CPS buildings — including from many students, parents and educators — the mayor and schools chief have spoken in favor of maintaining the officers but continuing to give local school councils the choice.
Currently, 144 officers are assigned in pairs to 72 schools. There are another 48 mobile school officers and 22 sergeants.
The obvious answer is that the four votes don't want to face the political fallout when schools become uninhabitable for the good kids along with the three or four hundred teachers who would resign instantly should their last modicum of safety was removed. That makes them reasonably intelligent....for public school employees that is.

Why don't they separate the students with "B" or greater averages into one school, and provide the resource officers to protect them, and put the rest of the feral trash in the remaining buildings and let them murder each other? While they're at it, why not tie welfare and ebt to the kids test scores? Study hard and get paid more, take it prorated from the dumbasses. If a teacher is caught skewing grades, automatic 15 years in the can.

Why not fill the Schools with Officers by using reverse seniority?Compromise with the Elite Teachers Union and their oppressed students who won't complain until years after when they are molested and abused by teachers but feel scared when they see the uniformed Police in their schools.Place younger more understanding Officers in the schools that would only be a few years older than the students.
Can the City get all that money back that they paid Chicago Public School Teachers during the Scamdemic when they stayed home and did nothing?Can the City require that the Teachers pay more than 2% into their Pension Funds?

The chicago public school system was never going to remove the police from the schools. The same is true with the “defund the police” crap going around. It will never happen. We are still here to watch and oversee your shannagins and report on them.Now the union needs to step in and make this a unit again and request more training and a pay grade for a SRO as they keep referring to officers as we do more work than a youth officer on a daily bases. Not a patronage position grow some balls and do the job.

Cuck you farley.I tasted what you put up with and a lot more to boot.I did it for over forty years right along with real officers, most of whom had been shot at least once along the way.We went into danger together, washed the same blood off our hands,and just shook our heads.Do not paint us all with the same brush.

1.) Stop calling them “schools”. They are many things, but they are not schools. They are feeding stations, indoctrination centers, gangbanger factories, and warehouses for future voters. Facilities is a better term.
2.). Make sure any and all interactions that you have with a CTU communist is captured on video.
3.) Hold CTU communist staff to the highest standards possible. Many are perverts and drug addicts. Remember, they have an IAD too.
4.) Document everything and maintain a log of everyday you are required to spend in a Board of Ed facility. Sue them.
The way I see it, were better off there and getting paid by CPS to be there. Otherwise the same officers, which may equal 8 extra 99 units on a watch in most districts, would be at the same schools anyway as “school cars”, special attentions, or sitting out front every time the principal calls the DC or WC demanding an officer be assigned because “there is a threat of violence, or rumors of a fight”.
In the climate of mass school shootings, no DC or WC is going to tell a principal to get bent and not send a car, they don’t want to hear the principal say “well I told so and so this could happen”

My kids go to CPS and I for one love seeing uniformed officers there. So do 95% of the other parents. The media seeks out the SJW in every instance as if what they say is the norm. The media lies and they know it.

Just an ordinary citizen of the City here but after watching all this yelling and screaming about removing Police Officers from Public Schools,I was left with a couple of questions. 1. Do Chicago Police Officers really want to work in these schools? z 2. Why is the anger for placing the Police in these schools directed at the Police? 3. If the Public School Teachers are doing such a great job and the students are so studious and well behaved,why does the CPS School president and the Mayor want Police in the schools? z 4. Did I read this correctly,Chicago Public School Teachers and the entire staffs were PAID IN FULL to stay home for over 4 months? z 5. And last but far from least.Did these same Teachers really commit hundreds of Sexual Assaults on their Students over a couple of years?

The mayor and the school board are deflecting on this issue and leaving the hard decision up to local school boards. I venture to say no local school board will vote to remove police officers from their schools. No one want the heat when the shootings start

My wife has been a "special needs" teacher for 28 years. She is every parent's dream teacher. She truly makes a difference wherever she goes. She makes 1/3 of what those morons at CPS make.
I switched from Catholic school to CPS in 7th grade. I never learned anything useful, my classmates were still struggling with "systemic racism". Hyuk, Hyuk. Actually, they were struggling with "The Cat in The Hat" in Senior year.

Can CPD just say -F U - CPS and pull out of schools? Then if police is needed they can call 911 like everyone else.
Rest assured that a school staff member from the classroom teacher to the principal will be treating any officer like shit and will bar them using their facilities, stay out of the teachers lounge, etc.
Teachers, principals, and administrators should handle discipline in the schools. The police should be called only if a student is violating a law and ought to be arrested. Schools ought to be run by the staff, not by the students. "Man Up" teachers, principals, counselors, and other administrators.

With the Anti-Police sentiment in the CTU, our own FOP should give them what they want until Christmas break on a trial basis. Simply stated the CPS schools are a textbook(no pun intended) example of a hostile work environment. Use CPS and CTU’S own words against them and abide by their own hateful and ignorant wishes.
With the documented hate and animous shown our officers the FOP should highlight the hostile work environment and demand officers are either paid at a higher rate or pulled from the schools. The Chicago Teachers Union speeches and media posts of absolute hate against CPD are proof positive the environment in schools is poisonous and dangerous physically and mentally for officers. Now is the time to draw the line and reallocate the unwanted manpower to districts begging for more officers. If a school NEEDS police simply do what every other citizen does and call 911.
