WBEZ Did What???

A few days ago, we wrote about an anonymous Lieutenant that ripped the bark off of the exempts and political masters for their complete clusterfuck handling the riots.

Now, WBEZ, Chicago's NPR affiliate of all places - and no friend of the police for the most part - sought out actual officers who were on the front lines of the unrest and rioting. And they relate the exact same shortcomings of the "planners" who hung us out to dry:
  • WBEZ spoke with eight Chicago officers in the wake of a press conference Thursday in which Lightfoot and Brown lambasted a group of so-far-unnamed officers for lounging in U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush’s South Side campaign office — allegedly as looters destroyed businesses nearby.

All of the officers spoke on condition of anonymity out of fear that they might lose their jobs, and they all criticized department brass. Several officers said they believe that the cops who were captured on video in Rush’s office on Monday, June 1, were “set up” to be scapegoated for a failed police response to the looting and vandalism, which shook swaths of Chicago throughout the May 30-31 weekend.

    [...]

Another patrol veteran said he was part of a police contingent pelted with rocks, bottles and bricks thrown by looters along West Madison Street near Pulaski Road on May 30. He said a lack of direction and planning left cops vulnerable there.

“The SWAT guys had large pepper-spray canisters that they ran out of and had no beanbag shotguns or pepper balls,” he said. “If there had been any forethought, we could have focused on protecting grocery stores, at least, but there was no solid direction coming from 35th Street,” the officer said, referring to police headquarters in the Bronzeville neighborhood. “As soon as Minneapolis went up, they should have known it could happen here,” the officer said about Lightfoot and Brown. “The city’s response here was piss-poor.”
It's almost like these writers are actual reporters or something. They give you the who, what, where, when and - rarest of all - the why. Not the "why" of the riot, but the "why" from the police perspective of exactly where the failures were. From street cops, not some Google-me apprentice who hasn't seen the streets in years (if ever) and exists only to recite the politically acceptable version of sanitized events.

It's would be refreshing if this was a new habit from even a single media outlet.....but we've been disappointed before.

That will be corrected as being contrary to company policy.

They’re are absolutely correct. Mayor Lightfoot is the only one to blame for the destruction and bloodshed. She emboldens crime and has no clue how to run a city. She destroyed downtown and every business hates her. First the covid shutdown and then Lightfoot’s riot. The aldermen need to step up to her and reign her in. Shut the dictator down.

Lightfoot acres like the officers taking a break in that pos office was the crime of the century. Diverting attention to how she completely screwed up her job at protecting the city. But she and that pos rush did that on purpose to use the officers as a scapegoat to get attention off them and their failures at planning and preventing the sh*t show that was the riots. Completely inexcusable on their part. And reprehensible. May they rot in hell.

Maybe they realize just how f'ed up this city really is?

Maybe they realize the next time the looting starts that downtown, the Loop, and all the bad neighborhoods have already been trashed, and they are next on the list to be looted.

I would like to clarify something here.... The officer who stated.....

“As soon as Minneapolis went up, they should have known it could happen here,”.......

was only partially correct. SWAT does have and did have both bean bag shotguns and pepper ball guns. They also had 40 mm launchers that can deploy OC and hand throwable OC canisters as well as CS gas. Realistically the bean bag guns would have not been of much use. But the rest of the weapons mentioned.....those should have been used. Only there is one problem. The only person who can authorize the use of this stuff is the superintendent. That's right folks. Ever since NATO using all of the aforementioned gear must be authorized. SWAT was only given permission to use the small, medium, and large OC dispersal systems. Everything else mentioned was a no-go. And as far as CPD ever getting to use that stuff.... Well if we didn't use it during this shit when do you think it will EVER be authorized?
But you can blame inept CPD leadership on that nonsense. Whoever was at the table way back when the order was put into place giving only the superintendent the power to authorize use of these tools is who is to blame.
Saying the CPD was not prepared was the understatement of the decade.

How can David Brown say he is embarrassed by the officers
who were directed to guard the campaign office of Bobby
Rush when he ran out the back door of the Trump Tower
to get away from the mob? Was David Brown unarmed?
If so, why?

Why is it that no one is talking about the looting being a direct result of the policies from the States Attorneys Office. It has been a giant rolling ball of shit for the past couple years. First with the stores not wanting to sign complaints, then changing the felony approval status to meet ridiculous conditions that circumvent the ILCS. would be thieves and flash mobs had a field day stealing everything in sight without any type of consequences. Now fast forward to the protests and they are so brazen because they know there are absolutely no consequences to their actions. Now multiply that by Robberies, Murders and Sexual Assaults.

Seems like there might more than a little b*tching from the business community about the destruction and they're trying to find a good scapegoat.

It probably won’t last, but I will give respect where respect is due. In this Instance they do a good job by actually speaking to the boots on the ground in stead of just the mayors and departments mouth piece. Piece of advice, not only with police but in general, but speak to more boots on the ground and you’ll be amazed as to what you’ll find, what the city isn’t telling you. There’s a whole other world out there kiddies, you just need to do a little foot work, lots of front line men and women willing to talk.

He apologized, who was he talking to?! Who's apologizing to normal citizens who's stores are destroyed?! Who is apologizing to every American who is forced by a pussy government to watch their country burn every night?! No one, that's who.

There was something a few years ago, on WBEZ/NPR, that was pro-police in that it stated actual facts of police involved shootings. Though the piece did not say it (because it was a news report not an op-Ed), it shown a light on the whole cop shootings being blown out of proportion in the media when you considered the facts on how rarely they occur amongst all police interactions & amongst all shootings in US.

Sadly, we live in a weird world now where even facts are racist and quieted. NPR/WBEZ is kind of a liberal boomer news outlet, but once they get infected a bit more by the cancel-culture youths they spawned, don’t expect facts any longer.

Just a theory here. When Padilla from Fox Tweeted about the Rush Office incident not passing the smell test I suspected that this may be the beginning of the end of Lightfoot. Chicago is the main money maker for all of Illinois. When Lightfoot shut it down, all that tax money shut down as well. When there’s no money coming in, the elected officials cant hand out contracts and jobs if the revenue is dried up and businesses aren’t open. On top of this Lightfoot is a tyrant. She is all about herself and her ideology. So with a Fox reporter and now local radio taking aim at Lightfoot, I believe this is the beginning of an effort to cut Lightfoot off at the knees. These aldermen will be around a lot longer than Lightfoot and need a city, a functioning one at least. IMO this is the beginning of the machine circling the wagons and going after
Lightfoot albeit indirectly now. They will cut her oof at the knees. Just thinking out loud, time will tell....

These riots may be the death stroke for this city. I think many stores will not reopen and those that do will face MUCH higher insurance costs. Insurance Companies are going to jack premiums in cities that show they will let "property crime" go. Same will hold true for all the hotels and restaurants in the city. How many people want to come to a city that will not allow the police to protect citizens. They saw the element run wild in the streets and they want no part of it. This is all before any of the "defund" fucking nonsense is even factored in.

The city is in full decline and clownass, bug eyed midget bitch is presiding over the whole fucking thing.

First off - a lesson learned.
NEVER, EVER TRUST A DEMOCRAT. GOT THAT ?
-
Nothing odd about WBEZ sudden interest in officer safety or public peace and civility here. They’ve been stoking police reform for some time. Truly a political hit piece on Larri LightLoafers incompetence and likely coming from a Cook County conspirator.

Hey WBEZ, some of that woke that’s going around.
Over 240 murders so far this year all related to urban violence with another 400 last year under Larri’s Home Rule and Cook County’s restorative justice program in conjunction with lenient political hack judges. People are dying and many more hospitalized. There’s more than a Chinese virus that’s keeping people afraid to go outside, it’s not just the Covid.
A early morning popcorn and coffee soirée isn’t the problem that needs attention.

Sure police are overwhelmed, cutbacks on equipment with revisions to response training to meet community outcry.
Academy closed for the influenza 3 months ago but that’s no excuse to be ill prepared.
Hands off and stand downs, let the chaos continue is the national Democrat strategy, it brings in Fed money to rebuild and Dems to hand out to the restless civil disobedient.
Popcorn and coffee soirée my ass.

Looking at that sole photo frame WBEZ posted with their article:
That looks to me like a stretch of the lower back muscles and sciatica relief.
Common ailment from standing for long periods, especially when carrying around some weighty field duty equipment - which he still donned during that stretching segment.

That officer should seek immediate medical attention and some rehab along with a footwear assessment.

– Question,
In light of Riccio’s press conference lambasting about the Booty Rush popcorn lounging matter and whining about also being pelted with construction materials and beverage containers, was there a STAND DOWN order ? Was that along with maybe have your helmets available just in case the only preparations these merit hacks had ordered the night before?

How has no reporter asked her or any of our brass who was in charge of deployments? She went on TV and said they need help identifying the officers. Why? Who didn't know who was there and why? The officers were deployed there, meaning they were sent there by a boss. Who was it? The Commander of the 2nd district? The DC of Area 1? Lemmer? Darlin? Boik? Who exactly was in charge and who sent them to that specific location and what was their direction?

How the heck has no one actually asked these questions. Including the mayor unless she is covering it up to protest her people.

Once again the blue shirts and line supervisors get fucked but the exempts get away with their incompetence.
