Lost in the Shuffle

  • On May 29, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker made yet another disaster proclamation citing the COVID-19 pandemic to justify continuing the emergency powers that authorize him to limit the size of public gatherings, suspend enforcement of certain laws and agency operations, close schools and “nonessential” businesses, and order residents to stay at home in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.

Pritzker reissued most of these orders in an executive order coinciding with the disaster proclamation, extending them until June 27. The move comes in spite of several lawsuits challenging Pritzker’s authority to extend the 30-day limit on a disaster declaration.

A Clay County judge granted state Rep. Darren Bailey, R-Xenia, a temporary restraining order based on the argument that a governor cannot extend his emergency powers past the 30-day limit set by statute. Bailey has since asked the judge to vacate that order so he could file an amended lawsuit. Another state representative and 80 business owners also filed lawsuits, challenging Pritzker’s ability to limit their liberties beyond 30 days after the initial disaster declaration, pursuant to which the governor ordered some businesses shuttered on March 21.
The legislature has abdicated its responsibility to the voters.

According to those in the know in Pennsylvania, the manic
focus on retail business is just a smokescreen to avert
attention from the massive Covid deaths in nursing homes.
Does this ring true for Illinois?

What do you all expect from a state that proudly displays a statute of Satan in the State Capitol every Christmas season. This has been going on for several years. You would not find this shit in other states, just in this fucking shithole.

Trust the Governor,
He only has your best interests at heart.
This has nothing to do with destroying small businesses which usually vote Republican,
And has nothing to do with harming the economy to make President Trump's reelection harder.

Trust Jabba.

The Guv allowed large gatherings of “peaceful demonstrations” but denies a gathering of 50 (tops) old farts at the 8:00AM Sunday mass in a 600 seat church. Seems like a dead bang winner to me.

One of the problems Gov. Flintstone will face is convincing property insurance companies to ignore any 60 day non-occupancy exclusions on claims arising from riot and civil disorder. All of this nonsense can be directly linked to actions of our civic leaders and court fights will be coming. Many businesses will not return.

The Governor holds house parties in Lake Geneva. He has three hangers at Midway loaded with corporation jets and planes. The stay at home is only for the little folk. He really thinks he is in charge and you must obey. His policies make no sense. And, now he is after the police in this state.

you might as well file a million lawsuits - Putzker has signaled numerous times that he will not follow any court order regarding the lock down.

Nothing will happen to Fred Flintstone and knows it. He loses in court? So what? Who will enforce the court order? Since Putzker and Lighthead have shut down all conventions and trade shows for 2020, not one person has spoken up and questioned this idiotic decision.

Like it or not, Putzker has total power to do whatever he wants.

Don’t worry all the recreational marijuana joints are open, after being looted, Who do they pay off? Why is this an essential business? Medical marijuana definitely essential to help patients that need it just like a pharmacy, this would be like Walgreens allowing you to buy anything from behind the pharmacy counter just to get high! Is groats head of security still running his big security firm that specializes in protecting marijuana growing Operations and Dispensary’s just asking? Funny how she chose a Caucasian male to be the head of her security detail but yet she talks about putting blacks first kind of freakish how she’s a racist without any doubt but yet she has a Caucasian running her security detail could it be because she could not find a qualified black with enough tenacity to run it properly just asking? Another question what is the salary is it over $200,000 mark is he going for another pension?

And one more question with our Pension in dire straits Chicago Police Pension that is supposed to be adequately funded a promise or guarantee did the mayor put the money into the pension fund as she is supposed to she just got $1.1 billion that she spending it like she is out of control instead of paying the bills that are due she’s getting all that money away for her whatever she wants they call it simply buying votes that’s what the Democrats do. They destroy well in order people they destroy police Officers in anything that is good anyone that dutifully pays her bills intuitively takes care of the property she wants gone, they got rid of her at the United States attorneys office!

This 30 day extension is a clear violation of the States Emergency Act. Not many exist with the funds or tenacity to sue or enforce. Attorney Generals are all in the tank for Pritzker and Lightfoot.

You have to wonder if Pritzker is this inept or if he has another plan. Could it be he is dreaming of a federal bailout OR is his property investment company looking to pick up foreclosure properties in Chicago on the super cheap. Of course Pritzker is still in a pissing match with Trump from the 70's!

No matter how you look at it covid numbers are falsified and the state can not even obtain junk bond financing.

Maybe the Trump campaign should schedule a rally in the heartland of IL and see people's heads explode when his campaign sues the state for overstepping their authority.
