They are also going to attempt to water down the PO bill of rights and also enact laws to make it easier to sue the police for wrongdoing. So WE, my brothers and sisters in blue, are the ones under attack now. Best tell your members to start voting with their feet in November, join and be active in your union and professional associations. Most of all, use your heads, be safe, and have a back up plan career wise. God bless you all

These politicians are so stupid.
They want to make it easier to sue the police, thinking that there is a pile of money to be gotten.
But no one really wants to sue the individual police officer. They want to sue the government they work for. That's were the money is.
And this will make the police even less proactive and assertive than they are now.
As a retired cop. The advise of having a back up ppan career wise is the best advise i ever heard. Having another skill to earn a livable wage is the best thing you can do to protect you and your family

The only option that we have is to come together and SHOW them that we've had enough. Everyone in a special unit or tac team should resign their spot. There should be ZERO proactive policing done. NO blue cards, NO ISRs, NO on-view arrests. Don't even leave the parking lot unless if you're called. Fuck Larry, fuck Fatass, and fuck the clowns in Compstat. The only way that they remain in control is through empty promises and nepotism. People are too afraid to be singled out and bite the hand that feeds. If this department has any sort of back bone everything should come to a stand still. Hit the medical if you have a cough or are stressed. Stubbed your toe in the parking lot? IOD. If the city and state are hell-bent on fucking you over, fuck them right back.
OT: So now there is a blm march from the 45th ward alderman's office to 016. They “demand” the alderman “address the murders” of several persons of color. Also, “We demand” the alderman “comes out against police brutality.” Further more, “We demand” the alderman “say their names.”
Call me cynical, but this smells like the work of a former city employee.
All of this takes place Friday, 12 June, 5-6pm.
Saturday there will be a march from Jefferson Park through, JP, Norwood Park, and Edison Park.
Ironically, nothing about ending the violence waged by other “communities” in any of these “protests.”
We need leadership on a collective basis between the policing agencies, Sheriff's Asc. and the State Police (interesting their take on this) and form a block and position on the detriments of this shit show.
Vote like there is no tomorrow and demonstrate your disgust at State and local officials. No confidence vote for the Fat Pig in Springfield, Groot, and other local officials. Let your community know that services rendered will always be based on the licensing provision. If there is a chance that you could suffer retribution for any actions taken let that be your guide. Danger to you or your partner are the exceptions.
Fools take risks and chances in this new environment of police in Illinois. Let the victim class grow proportionately. They get the service they want and deserve. We are going to be part of history and have front seats to the take over and control of the last bastion of sanity and rule of law.

Pretty soon they are going to have a draft system in this country to man police departments. How are citizens selected?
In order to be summoned for jury duty, a citizen must be a registered voter, or have a driver's license, an Illinois Identification Card, or an Illinois Disabled Person Identification Card. Since you have decided to call out the officers at Rush's headquarters perhaps you should ask someone on you staff or within the Department on how easy it is to have a team of officers and a supervisor assigned to babysit a congressmans office.
First someone from Rush's staff had to have called an exempt to complain about the original looting incident.
Secondly a command staff member of either Commander or Deputy Chief rank would have bent over backwords to suck up to the politician and promise to protect the office.
That command staff member would have then ordered a detail of officers and a supervisor to protect that office. Anyone who has ever worked a district knows how this manure flows.
Those officers were likely told that their mission was to babysit the congressmans office and do nothing else. That would be described as an order.
This is how your residencial protective detail is also assigned. Were they working on stopping rioters instead of sitting at your house?
If you want to call out anyone on this it would be the District Commander or Deputy Chief who assignned this team.
Why would a conngressman want police resources diverted from protecting his constituants to babysit an empty office. Some one on the congressmans staff had to have let the officers into the office. Or do you want to accuse them of unlawfull entry.
You are beating up on your frontline officers and working supervisor for a number of foolish reasons without understanding the Departments command structure.
The command staff has been poisoned by a bunch or inexperienced inccompetent promotions made by slick Eddie. You had so many whiteshirts on Sunday sitting with manpower that was not deployed in numerous locations around the city because these Lts, Capt, Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs did not know what to do in a crisis situation, had no experience, no gut instincts and no one to lead them or tell them what to do. No one even had thought to dig up the old op plans from Nato or the convention..
There is a void in competent leadership that you apparently do not understand. So perhaps you or your staff can stop micro managing by using the frontline department members as a punching bag and start holding the incompetent command promotees responsible by demoting or firing their asses instead of blowing shit on the people that are dedicated to trying to save and protect the innocents stll living in this city. Or at least have someone on your staff check to see how officers get assigned through their units of operation and police procedures.

They were starting to run out of jury candidates from the polling list, (too many dead people?) so they started taking people from the Secretary of State’s list of drivers. I don’t mind going on jury duty, it’s amusing to see criminals that I thought were dead, going to trial from another area. I never get picked for a jury, but it is fun telling the defense how I know the defendant....
How is that going to work for the merit crew? Are there going to be “merit” licensees? Is there a separate license For detective? Sergeant? Lieutenant? Captain?
Where can you renew these license? At the ward office with you city sticker?

How long before the city backs out of our contract negotiations? How many officers have to be stripped for nonsense? How many times do you have to be fucked over by the bosses and politicians? The only option that we have is to come together and SHOW them that we've had enough. Everyone in a special unit or tac team should resign their spot. There should be ZERO proactive policing done. It's my understanding that they responded to a burglar alarm at the Congressman's office and indeed found that a burglary (looting) had indeed occurred. It is incumbent upon them to now secure the premises until either an owner or representative of the owner show up (security agency, board-up service) I'm pretty sure that the supervisors on scene had enough sense to contact OEMC and notify them that the congressman's office was burglarized and to notify him. As to the coffee and popcorn... everything in that office is paid for with tax dollars. Don't tell me differently Bobbie. That coffee and popcorn belongs to the taxpayers. Next case please Mr. Mayor.

There are several Alderman on our City’s Council which is almost contiguous to Chicago, who are cops. All the Alderman, who are also County Sheriffs, are also big time Democrat supporters. Every election, they are at the local voting booths handing out flyers for other Democrats.
Take it from a Cop who has been around for awhile, I understand that there are those that feel that "Block Clubs" can "police" their own communities. Really? Let's say that for shits sake it does happen. Who will take the reports for all the crimes that will occur? Black people really trust other black people that much? Not from what black people have told me who actually live in these neighborhoods, they wouldn't trust each other any more than a white person would trust another white person who lives in their own neighborhood. This is still the United States of America, correct? How will this work out when arrests have to be made and criminals must be taken to court? Is there still Due Process? These riots and the looting and violence incited via BLM and Antifa and inflamed by the corporate media have given mainstream America a terrifying view of inner city thuggery, and it scares the crap out of most people. Has the FOP considered reaching out to other unions to work together? With law makers, the mayor, and the governor pushing for licensing in order to circumvent a collective bargaining agreement, I think you can make a strong argument to organized labor anywhere that if it can happen to us, it can happen to you. In addition to the political pressure as many politicians rely on support from organized labor, other unions can strike.

What's the difference between licensing and certifying?
All full time officers in the State of Illinois are certified.
What additional training could the CPD be forced to take that exceeds the current 700-800hrs currently given?
Who is going to pay for the additional annual training required to maintain said license?
Are the City of Chicago and other municipalities going to increase salaries to compensate for the costs of ($500-$1000 per month) insurance an officer will be required to obtain?
Seems to me that you will see a huge exodus of officers all over the state if licensing police becomes law.

You can’t change the system because of a few rogue cops. There’s systems in place to weed these people out. They should look at that system and make revisions on that.
