He is the bad apple the public and news media points out! He brings discredit to the uniform by just wearing it.
Mayor Lightfoot; I have to question your judgment with keeping him around. You had to know about his long battle with alcoholism and his despicable mistreatment of Police women that were under his direct supervision. That was someone’s mother and daughter he was abusing. He showed this wasn’t a one time incident by the easy he handed his misconduct. I’m unable to support your term as Mayor with your association with this unsavory character who received preferential treatment under your administration.
The Department needs to look at its senior rankings members and hold them accountable. If it truly wants a department we can all be proud of. Most don’t deserve to be wearing any uniform and are high ranking Police impersonators. The Mayor’s office should be having a breathalyzer and urine test administered on the so called Accountability Monday’s. If they really do occur or are they also a scam to deceive the public. Shameful! Nothing meaningful or constructive seems to becoming of these so called gatherings by the Mayor and the senior command staff. They are more like a sham to strategize on how to hide the weekend incompetence by the senior command staff. Always pointing the finger elsewhere and never mentioning the poor deployment efforts of department resources. The finger pointing has now included everyone except themselves. Asking for more time is unacceptable. Chicago can ill afford to wait another day for some new glorious strategy that is never coming to end the violence. Why not just focus on the weekends all week so not to over work your brains.

I read the comments that claimed Johnson was " abusing" women under his command. That comment fails to account for the fact these women are adults and can make their own decisions. I am sure they liked the nice comfy positions they had and were hoping for more, like a merit promotion. I recall during a past superintendent who held an annual party for exempts at the Conrad Hilton where every exempt had to be in uniform wearing a bow tie. He had more then a dozen police women who were assigned to HQ act as waitresses and escorts for the party. They had to wear a red dress. Leroy Martin ran those parties and he had no shortage of female volunteers. I also have known more then one District commander and a former Deputy Suyperintendent who had a married police women in his district as his girlfriend. It is time for the women of CPD to stand up and say no more to this activity.

Yes, the democrats make up their own rules as they go along just to suit themselves. The new rule is that the only Inspector General investigations that will be released are felony crimes. I guess that also included the lieutenant's test cheating investigation. But, the city had no compunction about releasing every complaint investigation on every officer no matter how petty and going back decades, to include all of the investigations that were unfounded

This problem isn't only with the police department, but exists at the top levels of the entire city government.
"The rules are for thee, but not for me" has always been the attitude. Few city bosses (CPD or otherwise) set a good example. It should be no surprise when the rank & file get caught up in shit (though yes, they should know better). Look who they model themselves after.
The problem is rooted in clouted promotions. Those people have no need to fear losing their job, because another one is waiting around the corner.

Just saw Eric Carter on the news. He steady clowning with that ribbon bar. Did he steal that from Leo? I’ve known that guy for over twenty years and he’s always had a good job.
I watched the same newscast. I thought Carter came across as someone who chose his words very carefully, with a lot of empathy toward the parents of the wounded child.

If the coppers, ON CAMERA, insisted that he be driven home, were refused by "the boss, forcibly took his keys, placed him in a squad, transported him and his DEPARTMENT vehicle safely home, how in any life would they be held accountable for disclipinary actions? More like a multiple group promotion, especially if, ON CAMERA, they informed "the boss" that if he refused they would release the whole incident to every news outlet known to man? What leg would Eddie have to stand on? This scenario is being posed by a retired CPD officer who served 21 years and saw far too many overpromoted people on this job just grow richer and richer and being more crooked than most criminals ever think of being. This whole thing should have been good for at least 2 promotions for all.

Yes, that is accurate. But, this also happened with the Chief of Detectives and a Deputy Superintendent. That and along with a host of elected officials to include congressmen, judges and state senators. I go back a long way and recall plenty of that going on . It was approved and condoned and if you tried to write them up your career would be in the tank. Times have changed and this is the department the progressives want. That is, until they get caught up in the machine that they have created and then you will hear them squeal
