We'd say, "Nice west side Groot." But the west side has been the west side for nearly seventy years now:

They were in an apartment about 9 p.m. in the 1000 block of North St. Louis Avenue when a 28-year-old man they knew walked in and opened fire, Chicago police said.
A 75-year-old man was struck in the abdomen and taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition, police said. Another man, 28, was shot in the hip and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
The third man, 35, was hospitalized in good condition with a gunshot wound to the arm, police said.
The alleged gunman was taken into custody, police said.
So young and old are in danger in Groot's Chicago.

Even bums are in danger. One of 017's finest, "the russian" took one in the leg after getting caught in a gang shootout at lawrence and lawndale a few days ago.

You Chicagoans play a really rough game of "Ding Dong Ditch" on the West Side.
8 Year old is in year two of the gangs shorty training program. Got to start them early on West Side because they get killed so early. By 10 they are carjacking and strong armed robbing. By 12 shooting training begins in earnest. At 14 they drop out of CPS and the rest is history. Ain't community life great, the stuff of rap music and legends. Like the great rapper that bought it on Oak Street, Fuck a Duck or something. LOL BLM!

Am I the only one questioning what an 8 year old is doing outside on the street at 10:00 pm.
One of the most curious things observed over the years was how dude hung out with children, who weren't his own kids, on the various street corners. Men in their 30's with teenagers, just weird.
Did I miss the age of the child?
Call me skeptical but after seeing so many 30 year old "teens" I wonder if this child was actually a "teen".
They start carjacking at 10, start having kids soon after.
Unless the kid was in a stroller he may well have been the intended target.
Looks like these gangbangers need some serious time at the range. You walk into the apartment, apparently through an unlocked door, armed and ready to shoot, and when you’re in the SAME ROOM with three people you can only manage to hit them in the arm or leg and not actually hit center mass on anyone? I can maybe understand that in a drive-by, but standing in the living room? As Joe Biden would say, “C’mon man!”
Note to people living on the West side: LOCK YOUR DOORS! That’s a dangerous neighborhood.

Give them credit - they're now at least half right.
The Minneapolis Star-Tribune had a headline on its online site a few years back, "Woman killed by SUV". They changed the headline in response to a torrent of sudden ridicule, as it was pointed out the driver was an illegal Mexican alien.

Did they follow the waiting period before being allowed to drive it?

Do these media people ever consider how these gangsters feel when they aren't mentioned in the article? Oh sure, go ahead, give the black SUV all the credit, but what about the "man" inside? LOL. Shades of the early 2000's when the lamestream media was apoplectic about Gasoline usage and the 'gas-guzzling' SUVs (Recall how they were running around with their hair on fire about Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger and his 6mpg Hummer). In every article, it seemed like 'SUV's' were mowing people down all on their own with no driver even being mentioned in the 'news' articles.
That lasted for a couple years and then they moved on to the next leftist bogeyman, the non-existent 'assault weapon' and firearms in general. Like the no-driver SUV, guns were now apparently getting up in the middle of the night, and going out and shooting people all on their own.
And now with this latest 'news article', it looks like the media has combined the two and SUVs are now shooting people. No driver, no one pulling a trigger.
Whew-boy. The mind of a leftist is a very scary place.

Loony Tunes Larry is more worried about the Chinese Virus than folks catching lead. Larry feels all big and powerful as he demands things be closed right and left. Closing churches really gave the little man a powerful glow.
