This is in response to the comments that rather than closing down traffic, Fr. Pfleger should march through the streets where children are being killed.
I probably get burned for this, but I will post it anyway. First some background: I know Fr. Pfleger personally, and he and I say that if we were ever to agree on something political, it would be a true miracle. That being said, we agree on one thing: children in Chicago should not be dying from gun violence. To that end, up until the pandemic this year, for many years people from St. Sabina march for peace in Auburn Gresham every Friday. My wife and I have been with them the last 5 years.
During the marches, we go to places where people have been killed and pray. We meet with grieving parents and try to console them. One time. a gang banger in the area threatened Fr. Pfleger, so we stood i. front of his house and asked hi. to come out. He did not.
Whether or not you agree with Fr. Pfleger (and yes, the cowboy need to get his horse shod...where is PETA when you need them?), I invite anyone who cares about children to join the marches next year.
Finally, just the fact that I am posting here means that I read this blog and support the blue. I know that it must be terribly difficult to be a policeman in Chicago right now. What you will also find, as I did, that the ordinary people on the south side do support the police, and donut want them to go away.

Knew it from the very beginning that this asshole was likely a negligent if not outright abusive horse owner. My family member has kept horses. It’s not a cheap hobby. It’s a passion and something you sacrifice to have. One of the horses she has is now 29 years old. She got the horse as a result of another negligent owner. Sadly, many people like with dogs/cats see them as “property” that they can dump the obligation of when it doesn’t quite turn out like they want or treat it however the fuck they see fit. They don’t view it as a valued life. They view it as chattel. Isn’t this guy convicted of domestic abuse? Honestly, doesn’t surprise me he’s an animal abuser- they go hand in hand. If I had it my way, no one convicted of domestic abuse would be allowed to own any animal. I’m not an animal crazy that sees animals as more valuable than a human, but I think it says a lot about our society & an individual when they show no humanity towards something we as mankind have chosen to domesticate. Once you choose to domesticate a being, it is your obligation to take care of it to the full extent it should be. If you cannot do that, you shouldn’t possess it. You are a worthless human if you only possess an animal as a status or something to define your identity. He should be stripped of every horse in his possession and never be allowed to own one again.

Interesting...t is assumed that if you march on the south side, you are a progressive. I do march on the south side, and I don’t live on the north shore. In terms of violence, Auburn Gresham has it’s fair share. How do I know? Because I have stood at so many places where people have died. I have walked past the funeral home that was the place of a mass shooting not long ago. The problem is that bullets are dumb. The thugs shoot at other thugs but the bullets hit bystanders...too often children. And I will accept criticism about marching from only someone who joins us. By the way, I have been a Trump supporter from the beginning!

Are you really that stupid? The bullets aren't dumb. The shooters are dumb and cruel and don't really give a shit who gets hit by their bullets. Standing and walking where people have died does nothing. The violence will continue until the community responsible for the shootings starts to parent their children, educate themselves, find jobs, stops having too many kids, etc. What exactly are you marching for and with whom? Church group? Anti-violence group? What is their agenda? Where do they get their funding? What's their plan other than marching? What success have they seen due to their actions?
Why hasn't The Cardinal removed Pfleger from ministry and excommunicated him yet?

There's one fuck and one shit in there, used to emphasize the utter stupidity of your ideas. I didn't realize those words would upset you so much, or I would've used more of them, which would accomplish a secondary goal of upsetting you. If you have any other stupid, passive-aggressive, and ridiculous fucking questions, please go fuck yourself instead of posting them. I dare you to answer the questions I asked. I challenge you to be honest in those answers. I thought that would've inspired the marcher to answer my questions. They're simple questions. Someone who so wholeheartedly believes in the power of marching to effect meaningful change, should jump at the chance to explain all the good things that marching has accomplished. Maybe that would help to recruit more marchers for the cause. But no. The marcher sits in silence. I wonder why that is. Who would start a conversation about how important their marching is, only to not follow up with any stories of how effective it has been? Why hide the group behind the marches? Why not be proud of that marching and those behind it? I think we know why. It's because the marching has accomplished jack shit, other than maybe lining the pockets of the organizers.
Go into those neighborhoods and start knocking on doors where the bangers hang out. When is he gonna figure out marching through neighborhoods with a bullhorn doesnt do squat!!!!
