United States Postal workers who deliver mail in some of Chicago’s more violent neighborhoods are threatening to halt their services after a mail carrier was shot in the city’s South Side earlier this month.
The carrier, a 24-year-old woman, was left critically and injured after being shot multiple times at 91st Street and Ellis Avenue while delivering mail on September 10. Police said the worker did not appear to be the target and had been caught in the crossfire during a drive-by.
Chicago’s WSL-TV reported that she was the second mail carrier wounded by gunfire on that route. Another mail carrier, also caught in the middle of gunfire, was shot in March while on the job but survived.

"In" the city's south side? Who the fuck says that? "Left critically and injured?" Amazing writing skills by these reporters nowadays. Is "WSL-TV" related to WLS-TV? I didn't know we had a WSL. There's also a quote in that article from the president of the Chicago letter carriers that doesn't make any sense. No idea if that's because he's a moron, or because the author of the article is a moron. Either way, reporters have lost the ability to write proper sentences. The author of this article is one of their editors. Aren't editors the ones who make sure shit makes sense before it's printed? If the editor is this bad, what about the regular reporters? Anyone with internet access can be a reporter now. Don't they go to school and learn how to write news stories? Don't they read this shit before they print it? It seems like their brains have been critically and injured.

Wasn't attacks on mail carriers a prime reason for the EBT push? Back when welfare checks were a target? Seems that the retro look is back in the Community. A return to the 90s it would seem.

Heheh, that was a great movie. When people say they're confused about how the so-called age of Trump came to be, I usually suggest that they watch both Demolition Man and Fight Club and then it'll make more sense.
I don't have anything against Mail carriers, but if you watch them they basically delivering mail while distracted. There on their phones or listening to music and therefore NOT paying attention to there surroundings. Situational Awareness!

Stop the mail service in those areas and transfer those mail carriers to the norf side where we don’t get daily mail delivery since there’s a shortage of carriers. Now that would be good management.

Love how the local news delivered this news. They said..."She wasn't the intended target, just in the wrong place at the wrong time." How is someone that is doing the job they were hired to do in the wrong place?
Perhaps the POS that shot her was in the wrong place. Like maybe in jail or prison. Oh I forgot it doesn't work like that in Cook county. Add this shooting to the list of "Sponsored by the Cook county justice system."

That’s what it comes down to, mail suppression and an election - not CookCo States Attorney KmmFxxxUp refusing to do her job to the letter of the law.
Shot multiple times and it’s incidental? That’s a lot of crossfire or rapid firing before hitting the pavement. I guess it can happen(s).
Situational awareness.
If anyone did a TicTock of some of the carriers, you’ll see them all yapping (everyday) or tuned out on the cellaphone. No attention to duty, trampling across the lawns or stuffing wet soggy mail into the mailbox. Knowing what’s coming, be it a stray dog, pothole or feral pack of street toughs.
But like our 22 Districts and Beats within those districts, most everyone has to do their time in shitsville and the misery that come with restorative justice.

In the 90s public aid checks went to currency exchange, recipients had to go there on assigned dates based on last name to pick-up. I know this firsthand.

Nobody cares. All they deliver is Junk Mail and Bills anyways.
Some utility companies pay armed guards to babysit them in high crime/democrat areas. Never a dull moment in the hood. Company sniper. We live in an exciting time.

Funny I live in the suburbs, my side of the street is the legal side to park on. 3 out of 6 days I wouldn’t get my mail because legally parked cars prohibited the mail idiot to drive up to my mailbox and put the mail in. They would get out & put a card in my box that said we couldn’t deliver the mail as Postal Regulations state we are not allowed to dismount the truck or back up the vehicle to reduce accidents??????? But they were able to get out to deliver the card but not my mail. Transfer the candy asses from the suburbs to the hood. The hood mail people will gladly back up, get out, clean my car anything as long as they aren’t being shot at. Meanwhile send the suburban douches to the city. Cull the stupidity herd & maybe force the mail to go private so it functions better!!!!!!!

In the 1850s, Allan Pinkerton, Scottish detective and spy, met Chicago attorney Edward Rucker in a local Masonic Hall and formed the North-Western Police Agency, later known as the Pinkerton Agency.
