I heard something about her getting hired as a civilian investigator. I'm hearing that whole unit is a sham and has troubles already. it was supposed to be up and running already but it's on delay because of the virus...at least that's what they're saying. if I'm wrong please let me know. I guess it would make sense at least the chicago way...what better way than to hire investigators with criminal histories? just a thought but maybe the dept can get a better clearance rate on homicides if "retired" gangbangers were hired as detectives...but why stop there here's the news story:

Lightfoot and Brown laid out the plans for parking scofflaws to staff parking enforcement, convicted murderers to staff the newly formed homicide unit, convicted drug dealers and junkies to staff the narcotics division and convicted carjackers and auto thieves to staff the auto theft group. "With their years of collective knowledge and the support of the Mayor's Office and the Chicago Police Department these new hires will undoubtedly be a driving force in the solving of criminal activity in our progressive city," Brown told reporters.
"Let me be clear this is not an attempt to rid the city of the fine hardworking police officers who I care very deeply for, but it's an opportunity to put knowledgable people to work in their communities solving crimes," Lightfoot added.
Brown said that there would be no layoffs and all of the personnel replaced by the new hires would be reassigned to guard the mayor's house on Wrightwood, the 5th Floor of City Hall and the newly formed uniformed division of Streets and San. Brown said to save money the replaced officers and detectives will be working 12 hour shifts with one RDO every 30 days. Instead of paying overtime the city will pay out at straight time any time worked over their normal working hours and will receive a $10 Walmart gift card in December. He went on to say that since the uniform allowance has been taken away the gift card can be used for clothing items.
Later in the day Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart announced plans to revamp his department by hiring men in arrears on child support to head up his unit that goes after those owing child support, sexual predators to run the sheriff's computer sex crimes unit and convicted felons to staff the jail. I find it humorous that so many are so upset over this last “study group.” People praise Georgas and Kennedy and they were part of a Maur study group and ended up scoring 1 and 2 on a LT’s test. Then there was the Cline tact team study group that all made Sgt of the first class. Even some girlfriends and wives got in on that one. Hate the game not the players. And grow the fuck up. So, the city rehires a person who has an exempt pension of what $130,000 dollars a year. Now most people canine in the city on that amount which is not subject to state tax. I generally don't care but if one takes a $50,000 dollar a year job I assume it is just a few steps above entry level wherein an unemployed person or a younger person who is starting out in there career could be trained. I thought the mayor was concerned about unemoyment I dont think so. Maybe I am wrong and special skills are needed but based on the salary if correct I cannot see it.
Shouldn't the alderman be complaining are these jobs posted? Is there a fair hiring process or do we just recycle pensioneers into other positions so they can continually feed off the city trough? Maybe I am the only person who believes that hiring younger people, training them, is a good business model for any corporation.

1-Barz's assignments (with dates) throughout his career, most importantly his time in BIA (Unit 121) and what his assignments were there - i.e. general or confidential investigations
2-all complaint register (CR) numbers that he investigated and COMPLETED. Specifically:
-date assigned the investigation
-name and rank of accused member(s)
-allegations
-date investigation completed
-finding of the investigation
3-all complaint register (CR) numbers that were assigned to him but NOT COMPLETED when he left BIA as a merit lieutenant. Specifically:
-date assigned the investigation
-name and rank of accused member(s)
-allegations

You can request full investigations once you get the number and it is has been completed.

When Barz made lieutenant he left close to 100 cases open. Some accused were high profile bosses going back years and years....just sitting there...not investigated.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We might have a winner here. I suspect it's called conflict of interest. If the party has a business that does private investigations and this position allows access to confidential L.E. databases- department rules, city ethics and law violations come to to mind
I think its time for someone to dig up via foia the time barz testilied at the police board and was busted lying and sweating like a pig for being caught lying. Charlie williams spent a lot of time in iad Some didnt like him but he loved working police and helped many out. On the stand at the police board he called out barz. Charlie said he has never seen a more fixed one sided poorly investigated case ever! In fact he said barz investigated to sustain and screw rather than gather all the facts. No lie here Im sure its all retrievable. Supt Brown or anyone that has his ear, This man will ruin an Officers career.
