Judges Revolt

You thought we had an "independent" judiciary?

  • Cook County Democrats led by Party Chair Toni Preckwinkle may have picked a fight for which they hadn’t really bargained this week in seeking Judge Michael Toomin’s ouster from the bench in a bald political power play.

Late Wednesday night, the other Cook County judges seeking retention on the November ballot refused to fork over their usual $40,000 payment to the party’s get-out-the-vote effort — partly in protest of the Democrats’ decision to target Toomin for defeat.

In essence, they refused to kiss the ring. It was a rare election-year display of political independence for the judges, who saw in the attack on Toomin, a respected veteran jurist, a clear threat to their own autonomy.

Whether this turns out to be a revolt from the Democratic Party itself or just a revolt from Preckwinkle’s leadership of the party remains to be seen.

So every judge forked over $40,000 per election season? [addition - Or is this $40,000 cumulative from their "association"? We're getting conflicting information] That might explain the exorbitant salaries they get for part time work, the massive sway Ed Burke and other Slating Committee chairpersons wielded over the years, and why the Feds shutdown Operation Greylord after only ninety-three indictments - if they kept going, there wouldn't have been a single judge left sitting on the bench.

This is EXACTLY why we vote "No" on every single judge, regardless of how they treat the police - sometimes, you just have to clean house top to bottom.

Not to defend them, it was not 40,000 per judge it was 40,000 from all the judges total.

A $40k “contribution” back to the party. No...there’s no ethics issue there. Unfreakin’ believable.

This is the exact issue: it’s not the police who need reform. It’s the judiciary. Starting at State’s Attorneys all the way to the judges.

The judge’s association/membership group gives a 40k contribution to the Cook County Democratic party. Each judge doesn’t give a personal 40k contribution. Also, voting NO on all judges up for retention is nuts. There are more good judges then bad ones. You only hear about the crazy activist judges. Talk to some states attorneys or detectives about judges at election time. They can provide some good advice.

Hear hear, SCC...

Not only clean house, but wrap the whole damned thing
in plastic, pump it full of insecticide, rodenticide
and pesticide every three months for a year and sprinkle
Epsom Salt, lye powder and lime all around just to be sure...

Watch the nasty little critters shrivel up
and spontaneously combust.

"Geh! WTF?"
>Sizzle! POOF!<

With this, hopefully the Cook County judiciary
turns on Prickwrinkle, Evans and Foxx in a glorious
display of mutually assured scalp-lifting, back-shooting
and throat-cutting...

Who will get cornered (that had the gall to think
they actually survived unscathed) in an elevator by one
of the "big guys" they've seen hanging around, while being
on the business end of the Old Chicago "Grip & Grin"
being given by selfsame "big guy?"

Elevator:
START/(STOP)

"PRESS!"

>Thump! Lights Flicker...<

A familiar BIG m/fer offering a "firm" handshake
while leaning in close to trod indelicately on that
gout afflicted foot while punking the recipient in
the ribs with a snubnose revolver and whispering
avowed and averred "promises" in the recipient's ear.

"You don' lissen too good do ya?"

Recipient says:
"EEK!"

Hand says:
"Squeeze!"

Asshole says:
"Poot!"

"THUMP!"
Says the .38 snubnose in the ribs.

Asshole says:
"Poot!" again."

"STING!"
Says the big toe being stepped on
by 250+ pounds.

>GRIN!<

Chicago Corruption DOES discipline the
muthalovin'/daddy-jumpin' SHIT
out of it's own...

Couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of decayed-ass,
rotting alive, relentlessly crooked m/fers.

Y'all hol' on...
This shit is about to get R E A L
entertaining.

Heh...

The Policeman could use a good laugh right about now...

No fucks given...

As long as all the right m/fers are busy shanking
the shit out of each other between the shoulder blades
with the sharpened spoons they reserved to be used on
The Police.

Groot, his/her/it's minions and local media look on
whore-ified, gobsmacked and gastiflabbered by the spectacle.

Heh...
Heh-Heh!

SCC, I think you are reading that new story incorrectly. There are around 400 judges in Cook County making about $185,000-200,000 a year depending on whether they are an Associate of Circuit judge. That would be $16,000,000 if each judge gave $40,000. I understood it that as a group they collectively give $40,000. That makes more sense. Each judge gives $100.

It is not $40k per judge, it’s $40k from the group.
The parted you quoted is unclear but further down in the story (and in a related story) it is a group contribution.

Judges are all cheating on their timesheets. You can't just sit home all day with nothing to do without feeling a little guilty, especially when it's your job to seek out the guilty. I'm sure some of them are considering resigning before the axe falls on their antics. They are in a precarious position because, as a criminal court judge, nobody smarts off to them and threatens them with exposure the way a sneaky water department laborers neighbor might do when it becomes obvious they are not supposed to be home all the time. The way their pay is set up, it might be perfectly legal to golf every day but I'm sure the guilt mechanism is still working in some of their minds. Add to that dilemma the fact that even when they are at work, they are still relatively worthless, and you have the makings of a total collapse of justice.

Better stop looking to the Justice Dept. for help. Judging (ha) from their behavior in the last four years in trying to unseat a duly elected president and reverse an election, they have plenty of house to clean themselves. Greylord is just a fond memory, probably the likes of which we'll never see again.

Then we can move on to the “group contribution” from defense attorneys. Not a joke. There is a group of defense attorneys that contributes to the cook county judicial fund. It’s kept rather hush, hush, but I do know the “contribution” comes around Christmas. Every judge knows who contributes and who doesn’t.

So the judges stand up for judicial independence and against the machine and you still recommend voting to remove them for office??? Educate yourselves and make informed decisions!!!

The revolt could bring down the entire CookCo Dem Party rendering it useless...make that extinct, it’s already useless. Maybe that’s why RëichsWrinkle already has Soros for a side-funding source. Burke money dried up, so RëichsWrinkle & KmmFxxxUp are sweating an audit.

Money for nothing.
That long standing $40 k Dem Party Fee guaranteed you only an endorsement, the campaign costs are on the judicial candidate. Better have money in the bank if you want to be a CookCo judge with or without that Party nod on your handbill.
Proves judges can still be bought today, maybe not as many now.

If that what it take to finally oust wicked commie RëichsWrinkle in 2022, so be it - it’s about time.

Listen guys, it is just the judges that are up for retention during this cycle that put up the money.
I think there are about 60 judges this year. That comes out to lass then $700 per judge to let the
party put their name on a mailer to help get them re-elected. That’s nothing compared to them
having to do it themselves. But I LOVE what they judges did. It’s the equivalent of saying F.U. Toni.
She is the one that helped orchestrate the Toomin snub. Kim Fox is her pick as S.A. And she didn’t
like what was done to her. I say Fox needs to go. #NotACop
