Police across the country should keep track of and publish the names of players and who they selected to place on the back of their helmets.

Funny, but true. My youngest Son was furloughed from his job with the VA and is working P/T for a local moving company. He is working almost 40 hours a week and doing packings/moves to a rate of 3-4 a day. Many of the people are moving out of locations downtown. Hard to believe how quickly things went bad for the City.
I moved. In fact, I moved out of 1423's beat about a week ago. Not because I necessarily felt like now's a good time to go in on a 350k nut either. It's insane to normally take on that kind of financial exposure right before an election, but not if you live in Chicago. An election ( November ) which will certainly be pivotal for America, if not the entire world. We are on a razors edge of a political / civil abyss which could bring fourth the new dark ages if Biden wins. So for those reasons I didn't want to move. More specifically & particularly: the cataclysmic economic uncertainty if things go sideways. On the other hand, I got tired of waking up every day and wondering : " Is this the day I'm going to need to use lethal force to defend my self, and get hung out to dry by Crimisha cause I'm a white male?", " Is this the day that my brother, a CPD cop, is going to be the one to call me at work and tell me that my wife was just raped in a gangway in Wicker Park on the way home because all of the 14 beat cars are held down at 3434 Wrightwood?". Enough is enough. I'm gone like a fart in the wind. I wish you guys could get your pension payouts early instead of being held hostage by the city.

Worked for two Commanders in my career that I can absolutely say were the real police. J. O'Donnell and K. Duffin. Other than that, I never saw any of these MF'ers use their handcuffs once. I know that Duffin is retired. Not sure about O'Donnell.

It has not moved in almost two weeks and overnight parking is prohibited on my residential street with vehicles having B Plates. I’ve been retired awhile but still enjoy reading SCC with my tea, anyone else I can call regarding parking enforcement. Thank you & stay safe brothers and sisters.

This probably has more to do with the coach, Nagy, not wanting to look stupid in drafting Mitch in the first place. The Bears will replace Mitch after a few games and will end up with a less then 500 season. Nothing new and nothing will change until the McCaskeys sell the team
Right now, it’s cheaper to fly to OKC, do a ‘local’ rental, drive to Chicago, load up, drive back and pay the time & mileage charges than it is to rent one way from Chi to OKC.

Took a plane trip recently. The flight out was packed. The return flight...half full. What does that tell you?
Recently when we were detailed out to Michigan Avenue, Management from a posh hotel came out to thank us. They went on to say how this mayor absolutely refuses to engage or speak with business owners. Nothing like burying your head in the sand to solve problems. She just needs to leave now!

Hadn't been in Chicago in some time due to all this Covid BS but was on a trip this week and I couldn't believe my eyes walking down Michigan Avenue. Boarded up businesses everywhere, many restaurant establishments closed and looking like they are "done" for good. Clearly much fewer people than normal for August and the hotel I usually stay in, was a ghost town.
Its mind boggling to think how things can go to hell in a hand basket in a matter of months but unfortunately in Chicago's case, the rode to hell was being paved long before the latest issues.
Very sad to see really. I took a picture which I was unable to download of a souvenir store on Michigan Ave. called Bye, Bye Chicago. The store was all boarded up and I thought it summed up the status of the whole situation nicely. Bye, Bye Chicago!!!

Three years ago McDonald's Corporate Headquarters was located in beautiful Oakbrook. 2 Years ago they moved their Corporate Headquarters to the West Side of Chicago. The CEO who made that decision got booted last year for improper relations with an employee (which recently turned into a complex soap opera). I wonder if anyone currently in that organization regrets leaving Oakbrook?

Way off topic, but I haven't seen SCC weighing in on the NFL policy change permitting the names of Blacks killed by police to be placed at the back bumper of a player's helmet.

In 2016, the Dallas Cowboys players' request to affix a decal to their helmets dedicated to the memory of the 5 Dallas police officers tragically slain by a gunman was refused by the NFL as too political and controversial.
Police across the country should keep track of and publish the names of players and who they selected to place on the back of their helmets.
It is reported that Jacksonville Jaguars' tight end Tyler Eifert will wear the name of murdered St. Louis police Captain David Dorn on his helmet (or at least until he is shamed into selecting another name). Kudos to him!
Perhaps the FOP could provide the Chicago Bears with a list of Chicago police officers and Illinois state troopers killed in the line of duty by criminals who are Black. Or how about these names, innocent Black victims of Black violence: 1-year-old Sincere Gaston, 7-year-old Natalie Wallace, 14-year-old Vernando Jones, or any of the 400+ Black citizens in Chicago needlessly and tragically killed this year not by police, but by gangbangers and other lowlifes?
