A leader would have dropped the hammer the first night and subsequent nights of rioting throughout the City, co-ordinating with law enforcement, prosecutors, the judges/courts, and jail. But none of that happened because the dwarf revealed to the citizens of Chicago that she is no leader, but a community activist steeped in progressivism up to her ass. The wrath of the mayor’s office should have been unleashed on rioters, not on law enforcement, whom were needed to save the City. So the dwarf alienates the police and acerbates the divide between her and the police by trying to ram an onerous contract down the throats of the police. By the time a contract is cemented the time frame would have seen two normal contractual agreements come and go. DemoRats know how to fuck up running local government, while rewarding themselves and those who support them with sweetheart contracts. God help us all.

Loop resident here. As usual, I differ. Lightfoot might feel good making such friendly political overtures but she’s a small (in every sense), shrill and rigid person. What will I remember about 2020 so far? The quietness of the quarantine, the feeling of the deserted Loop, and the nastiness of the mask-wearers before Pritzker ordered it for indoors venues (people would make comments to others, “you are participating in the deaths of others” etc) and most of all, my sense of security that was utterly shattered when the Floyd business started. During the quarantine I went out all the time after finishing my day of teaching (not CPS) and took a long walk. I felt safe in the Loop on my own. That feeling has been undone dramatically. As woman in my 30s, I don’t go out on my own in the evening anymore. I see no reason to. I wrote her a few days ago that residents like myself are glad to see the police because they make us feel safer but it’s also alarming because it isn’t sustainable. Well that’s it. 2020 hasn’t exposed the greatness of the people of Chicago. It’s exposed the worst, esp in anyone who even in the slightest way endorsed anything associated with BLM or the protests against the police. Sometimes I think I am being too critical and then I walk down South Michigan Ave see “black-owned business” signs and I realize how low the bar is now- if we were a a great people, we wouldn’t have citizens afraid enough to put up signs like that. Last night’s Elmwood Park Police DARE Car “Convy” was a great success. Approximately 75 vehicles participated in the event, which included classic and muscle cars, trucks, and motorcycles, as well as police squads from area law enforcement agencies. Many people and families emerged from their homes and showed their overwhelming support for the Elmwood Park Police Department and law enforcement as the procession traveled down many of the streets of Elmwood Park.
On behalf of the entire Elmwood Park Police Department, I would like to personally thank everyone’s participation in this year’s “socially distant” DARE Car Convoy. A special thank you to the Faruggia family of Jimmy’s Red Hots, semi-retired DARE Officer Bruce Bogg, District 401 School Board Member Peter Volpe, and all the Village of Elmwood Park employees who helped make this event successful. All funds raised through this event will be allocated to purchase supplies for the students that attend our DARE program throughout the year.
The D.A.R.E. program is only a success because of the collaborative partnership we all share with one another for our children. Elmwood Park school children benefit from DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), the highly acclaimed program that gives kids the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence. The Town of Cicero has been selected as the newest location in the expansion of the mega-retailer Amazon following negotiations with Town President Larry Dominick.
Dominick said Amazon, which employs more than 23,000 full and part-time workers in Illinois, plans to hire 15,000 more workers to staff fulfillment centers in several planned new warehouse sites including two that will open in Cicero.
The Amazon fulfillment center, which processes online orders from its popular website, will be located in two 575,000 square feet warehouses operated by Bridgepoint 290 Partners (Bridge Development Partners) and located at 1400 S. Laramie Avenue.

“We have welcomed many new major retail businesses to Cicero including Walmart, Menards, Break Through Beverage (formerly Wirtz Beverage), Bimbo Bakery, Sonic Restaurant, Fuller’s Car Wash and CubeSmart storage, to just name a few. Dominick said the new businesses will not only generate new real estate property tax revenues that will reduce the tax burden on residents, but will also create new jobs and employment opportunities for Cicero’s residents.
“I understand that Amazon is already advertising for the new jobs that their fulfillment warehouse locations will be creating,” Dominick said.
“The fact that these major national companies have selected Cicero as their new location is a testament to the success we are enjoying as a community in making the Town of Cicero a much sought-after destination.”
Dominick said he had several meetings with Amazon representatives during the past year. And while Cicero touted its many advantages, Dominick said no incentives were requested or given to seal Amazon’s site selection decision.
“The taxpayers are not paying to get these businesses. These businesses want to be here,” Dominick said.
Bridge Development Partners bought a 33-acre property in Cicero in 2018, with plans for its latest venture into the hot industrial market.
The Chicago-based developer bought the land at 1400 South Laramie Avenue for for $11.7 million from Meridian Rail Corporation. It plans to build two industrial buildings on the site, one about 343,000 square feet and the other about 233,000 square feet, according to Cook County documents.
The complex would be next to Bridge Development’s Bridge Point 290 facility at 1531 South 54th Avenue, a 323,000-square-foot industrial building, purchased in 2017.

I've an ex brother-in-law who's a lawyer like Groot. Short guy, big ego, thinks he's the smartest guy in room, quick to "tear him a new one". Likes to get ugly with his cohorts; I've witnessed him make business calls on Christmas Eve/Day on his cell to berate his underlings. Coddled by his mommy; educated at that fancy-pants UoChicago politically-corrupt/amoral university. Thinks his money greases the skids to whatever he wants done. Has the ethics of a jackal. Yes, given to moments of faux humbleness, but can't mask the enormous hubris and massive ego for more than a few minutes. Ugh; the wreckage he left behind is undeniable, and the wreckage Groot will leave behind will be devastating too.
I think it's perfectly normal for a grown man to walk around in the dark buck naked while it's snowing and whacked out on pcp. Why would anyone call the police on him. A good wagon crew would zip by him doing about 40 and then give it an 11 edward after rounding the corner.
