Someone wrote an update in the comments:
- The Manager of this restaurant came into 019, apologized ,stated he fired the employee and he purchased pizzas for the district. I say we start judging whole businesses by the actions of just a single bad employee, the same way the whole country judges all law enforcement. These pizzas should have been returned to the restaurant. Can we really be bought of by a few slices of pizza? We really need to start standing together and speaking up for ourselves!
And an anonymous commentator posted this, claiming to be the owner of the Happy Camper:

Sorry, but we're with the first commentator. It certainly sucks to be judged by the actions of one, but here we are. Turnabout is completely on the table for everyone then.
We shouldn't - and according to the Ethics training, cannot - be bought off by some free pizzas. This was an detective (whom we know) working a twelve-hour shift out of his assigned area, and his attempt to pick up a bunch of food for his partners was sabotaged by a malcontent representing this establishment. There are dozens of other places more than willing to accept our commerce and not spit in our food.

While we advocate only a peaceful boycott by all police and those who support police, it is time that businesses (and politicians) experienced perhaps a little bit of economic (or voting) fear from the police and police supporters.
And if that means the Happy Camper goes under due to the actions of it's employee, then let it serve as a warning to every other restaurant that there are consequences to actions - the same as everyone is demanding of us.

We can overlook having differing opinions, but when backed up by other factors, Happy Camper and their ilk can't go under fast enough. To those saying he "apologized," glad you think so. But based solely on his media presence, he hasn't changed, and that means he'll make the same "mistake" again with cops and their supporters paying the price. Maybe next time, it really harms someone's health and he can "apologize" to make you feel better.

He's been pro-police before this happened. He took every action we could ask of him, responding appropriately and firing the employee, apologizing and offering to make the detective whole for the loss of his payment/food.

Notice that Happy Camper fails to even address the anti-police issue directly, and instead provides a generic, blanket statement? If they are truly ashamed by their employee’s actions, why not face the issue head on? Or is it because being anti-police is prevalent in their businesses? I truly believe they are trying to play both sides of the fence. Well, sometimes you have to choose a side. There should be zero tolerance parking enforcement in the vicinity. Also, all nearby businesses should be checked for compliance with applicable licenses.

We cannot fight bigotry and hate against the police with more bigotry and hate. While anger and wrath is certainly warranted at times (lawfully and peacefully), it is imperative that our anger and wrath be righteous and accurate not blind and indiscriminate. If this manager and establishment is honest in their intent to make the situation right then it's an opportunity for another ally in our ongoing battle for injustice against the police.
We should not be in the business of making needless enemies of good people caught up in someone else's evil intent.
I suspect Cassie C. was terminated from Happy Camper only to be immediately hired by one of their other restaurants. In other words, they probably didn't fire her at all, but rather just sent her to work at a different location. I applaud them if they actually did fire her, but I'm sure they knew her feelings about the police when they hired her, or from working with her. Yet it took bad publicity for them to take action. There are plenty of respectful, law-abiding, police-supporting people looking for work. But places like this purposely hire the blue/purple/pink hair liberals, who are drawn to the service industry because they're relatively unemployable in a professional setting. This is why you make a character assessment when interviewing client facing applicants. A savvy employer who asks the right questions should be able to weed the potential troublemakers.
Police and other members of the criminal justice system are held to a higher standard, as we should be. The owner fired the employee and apologized - meaning he made that employee accountable and took some blame himself, and then he showed his support by trying to make it up to the cops involved. Why would you throw away his support with a petty rant that boils down to some people don’t like you? No one who gets arrested and prosecuted likes us. That’s not new. What’s new is the leftists jumping on the bandwagon from their quarantines while they work from home so that mostly peaceful rioters can get away with violence and destruction. I’d suggest everyone start researching your lunch locations before patronizing them, Even the places you’ve been going to on a regular basis. The Happy Camper in Wrigleyville voices their support for BLM on their Instagram page. That speaks volumes, and should tell you exactly what they think of of the police.
Don’t forget the Dunkin on Archer! They have signs that they support first responders. I pass by there and the lines are much smaller at the drive up. Sometimes there are zero cars. Stay away from these businesses .

My first job at 16 years old was at Burger King in Palatine in the 60s. The Palatine Police ALWAYS received first class treatment from the kids who worked there, including me. We would NEVER have thought to tamper with their food or to insult them with poor service or rude comments. The Owners would have thrown us out the door immediately with our final paycheck in hand.

Irony, Part II: Happy Camper actually must tread very lightly when hiring; they are subject to discrimination lawsuits and complaints from rejected applicants, even when the reason is legit. So HC hires the offender (she did commit a crime under Illinois law), but cannot stop her from thinking anti-police thoughts, or posting them on social media. HOWEVER, they can and did fire her cop-hating butt once they knew she crossed the line to acting out her hate. Just like cops in uniform and on duty committing misconduct, HC's owner did what he could once he knew what happened. The pizzas and gift carding is a physical token of him trying to make amends for his stupid and criminal employee's unauthorized actions. He knows he can't make up for what she did; that genie is out of the bottle. But he's trying to show respect by word and deed as best he can right now. Feeding a District these days is a positive gesture by someone who is very, very pissed that this loser ex-employee screwed with his business (and as a few posted, a pro-police owner now cast as a schlub. Whether you eat the pizza or not, or accept his apology, he's trying to do something to show remorse. I can hear the haters about "he's trying to save his business", and that is likely true. But there are still people who are trying to be responsible citizens out there. No business makes perfect hiring decisions (look at CPD for examples galore).

In that part of town, there are WAY more people that think like Cassie than there are coppers. Although I agree with the boycott, a few of you not patronizing the Happy Camper is not going to move the needle. You have to do like the left and ATTACK them. Virtually chase their patrons away. This is where you are wrong. Leftists didn’t gain control of academia, the media, government and our entire city by being nice. They took advantage of our reasonableness and forgiveness. Not only do you not accept Happy Camper’s apology but we should be demanding “pro police sensitivity training” for all Happy Camper employees and a large donation to the CPD Memorial Fund to prove that they mean it.

I would strongly recommend, if you haven't already done so, do some reading up on narcissism. There are definite patterns to their behavior. People with narcissistic personality disorder are NOT normal people. They don't do anything in good faith, everything is a manipulation, they have 0% empathy, they can never be wrong, and they view any leniency on your part as weakness to be exploited. They have extremely low self worth and self esteem, and to cover up the gaping hole this leaves, they construct a false reality in which they are perfect and everyone else is inferior. Anything that challenges this is intolerable to them, they surround themselves with sycophants that echo what they want to hear. They will stonewall (ex: refuse to debate Trump), project (ex; accuse us of being racist bigots, when their behavior is clearly racist and bigoted), throw rage fits (ex: riots, looting, burning, public meltdowns), try to isolate you from support (ex: media's campaign to make police, Trump supporters, etc look like social outcasts), run smear campaigns (ex: cancel culture), love bomb you with affection (ex: promise supporters gimmies, contracts, power, public attention, perks), etc, to get their way.
The only counter to their behavior is twofold. First, go gray rock, which means to give them NO reaction whatsoever, be as responsive and boring as a stone. They cannot stand not getting feedback for their drama. They will take any emotional reaction on your part as a win, whether you give them positive or negative attention. In the case of this restaurant, don't go on their Facebook page and comment, don't even respond to their apology at all. Just ignore them entirely. The other essential thing to manage them is boundaries. There must be clearly established boundaries that cannot be crossed. In the case of these restaurants and other cop hating businesses, the boundary should be: hurt us once, you are dead to us. No negotiations or apologies accepted, ever.
Sorry this is long but learning about this was a real eye opener, and I think it exposes why normal, rational people have such trouble dealing with these crazies. We try to negotiate with them in good faith, take them at their word, and use logic and it just doesn't work, never has and never will. Time to educate ourselves about their true nature, call them what they are and respond accordingly.
These snowflakes hate on the Police because they know that they could never protect themselves against their own pet causes. Given the opportunity, the very folk they protest & march for would strip the place clean in minutes.
They want to destroy what gives them the ability to survive in a specific location. Heads explode from internal cognitive dissonance like this.

There is a lot of media outrage about police officers doing their job. Many left leaning people hate police officers for doing their jobs, simply because a police officers job implies the use of force to stop evil deeds.
This summer has produced pictures of US cities being burned to the ground, arson and looting were happening within sight of police officers. I don't know about Chicago, I'm talking about the general situation of other cities, e.g. Portland, and would like to hear the opinion of police officers about the following:
Why should a tax paying citizen resist calls to defund the police, now that he has seen that his business can be burned to the ground while police officers stand by and watch? Why pay a police department that tolerates looting and arson?
Of course, preventing looting and arson would mean shooting some people, but that bothers left-leaning persons, right leaning persons expected the police do what ever is necessary to prevent our cities from burning.

We cannot fight bigotry and hate against the police with more bigotry and hate. While anger and wrath is certainly warranted at times (lawfully and peacefully), it is imperative that our anger and wrath be righteous and accurate not blind and indiscriminate. If this manager and establishment is honest in their intent to make the situation right then it's an opportunity for another ally in our ongoing battle for injustice against the police.
We should not be in the business of making needless enemies of good people caught up in someone else's evil intent.

Talk about "craven" - news story and vid of one woman sitting outside a DC restaurant, completely surrounded by, like, 50 blmantifa domestic terrorists -including children in the mob - shouting and threatening, demanding that she raise the fist with them.
Generally when dealing with this kind of idiocy - if it's one-on-one, or even two-or-three-on-one, my fist would be a throat punch to the one leaning over my head and when the other two are surprised - they're done too. Screw that "agree with us or you get no peace" bullshit. I don't have to listen to them, or agree with them. If they try to force me - they're going to have a bad day.
If it's a mob - I might just not say or do anything and keep my eye on them. Let them scream. I'll live to see another day when I have the higher ground to deal with them. If they touch me, then all bets are off. Whomever touches me is going to have a broken wrist, and whatever else I can grab as an improvised weapon to handle the situation. Chair, broken water glass, fork, knife, plate. Small table? The trick is to take out the one, maybe a couple others and escape.

Do you know how many people I've knocked off the hiring train by simply looking at their Facebook posts? Maybe the owner should have done that, and realized that these potential hires were not, in fact, "inclusive," but worship at the altar of "woke bullshit" which is a cancer to our country.

The only way this owner can prove he is sincere is to sue that ex-worker for everything she has and will ever have in the future (lotto win, etc.). That establishes a public record of him being serious. I am sure some smart business lawyer type can come up with some good valid lawsuit usable reasons. Otherwise it is (as someone pointed out earlier) a smoke screen while she is hired on at another location...

It's not just shooting people that bothers the left. Police bother the left. They cannot live with the fact that not everybody is like them, so having to have an institution like the police bothers them to no end. That is also why they're anti-gun; they don't understand the need to be able to defend yourself in their "one big, happy world" that goes on in their heads.

Great stuff! Another triad that's even more dangerous and starts at a young age is "torture of small animals, bedwetting, firestarting."
