By some counts, this is the thirty-eighth "mass shooting" in Chicago this year (all blamed on Mississippi and Indiana by the way):
- Lumes Pancake House in Morgan Park is known to be bustling with people of all ages on Sunday mornings — from churchgoers to families and friends. But about an hour before it was scheduled to close this Sunday, the popular breakfast spot was sprayed by bullets, leaving one person dead and four people wounded.
At about 1:50 p.m., a man was dining under a tent at Lumes Pancake House, 11601 S. Western Ave., when a white SUV pulled up and fired shots in his direction, Chicago police and fire officials said. The 31-year-old was struck multiple times and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police believe he was the intended target.
Four other people were also struck, police said.
So the gunmen got who they were looking for, but maimed another four bystanders in the process?

It’s a tragedy that those people were shot. And who’s going to go to that restaurant anymore or any that are near there. The owner(s) were probably just hanging on because if the Covid 19 closures. One shooting affects many more than most people realize.

My first job was a Shell station at 115th and Western. Lived at 97th Seeley. My old stomping grounds. I loved that area back then. It was a little slice of heaven. The motive for the shooting is eye opening!
The dead asshole had possession of a large amount of material stole in the looting and riots from Michigan Avenue and refused to share it with a neighborhood gang. His obstinance led to him being targeted.
The detectives should spend a great deal of time recovering the stolen loot and very little time investigating the shooting.

Our sources say several white metallic shell casings were recovered from the scene and the bullets that killed the young man and hurt several others were also a white or light metallic. Went there with the wife 2 years ago and the food and service was pretty good. Sat next to a table of 11 who gave a complicated order, ate most of their food but naturally when the bill arrived they complained about it thus demanding it be comped. I've read papers by sociologists and other academics that say black-on-black violence is a myth. They argue that it is caused by systemic (god, I hate that word) racism. Therefore, it is caused by white people, and the mass shootings, the drive-by shootings, and the shootings of innocent children and infants is actually white-on-black violence. That's why no one protests the 500 homicides we've had so far this year. All the outrage is directed at the cops.
