Whose Fault?

Democrats nationwide are masters of projection. They accuse the opposition of planning do what they are already doing:

  • collusion - was democrats
  • won't accept election results - democrats
  • promote rioting and hatred of police - still democrats

Fatass is trying to backpedal his Lt Governor's screw-up:

  • A day after a top Democratic ally warned of an across-the-board income tax increase if voters reject a proposed tax amendment, Gov. J.B. Pritzker sought to blame Illinois Republicans should such a tax hike take place.

[...] The political fallout from Stratton’s remarks underscored the high stakes of the Nov. 3 ballot question asking Illinois voters whether the state constitution should be changed to switch from a flat-rate income tax to a graduated tax-rate system based on income.

Appearing at an unrelated news conference Friday, Pritzker attempted to cast Stratton’s remarks more comprehensively than what she actually said while also trying to downplay her words as nothing new.

She let the cat out of the bag too early, and now voters are taking a close look at what was supposed to be an end-around to tax everything under the sun after the disasterous 2020 shutdown.

If you or your families vote for this tax amendment, I hope you enjoy paying the new tax on your pension and social security. Not to mention that with the flood of taxpayers leaving Illinois, the bills won't go down, but your share will because THERE WILL BE LESS TAXPAYERS to pay the damn bills. We're so screwed it makes my head hurt.

Once that barn door opens rates will jump to double digits just like the progressive federal tax rates. Illinois will be on par with California and New York. Pensions will be taxed once the constitution is opened up. There are only a handful of states that don’t tax pensions. Retirees have no reason to stay in Illinois once the demoRats enact draconian rates.

There is an all out well paid for push to try and fool people into believing the “rich” will be taxed more to save the Illinois budget “crisis”. Decades pf filling their pockets and democrats want to rob you even more. All you have to ask yourself is....do you trust Illinois government in any form ?

No way in hell I’m voting for this tax law change. I wouldn’t trust those DemoRats as far as I could throw the Capitol building in Springfield. Better get the calculator out and start cutting costs. Maybe start with CPS.

If the progressive tax was just for the “rich” they should have proposed amending the state constitution to allow for higher rates at $250,000 plus a CPI annual adjustment. Instead, DemoRats want to just amend the constitution to allow for “progressive rates” that the state legislature can change at any time. You know they will increase rates on the middle class in two-three years. You’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise. This scam is not aimed at the rich, it’s aimed at the middle class. Also, get ready for pension and retirement income to get taxed too. I know some high level politicians and they are the ones who said this.

First, cut spending. Why do these narcissistic politicians have to have custom masks with the state, county or city seals on them. Yes a small expense but why should the taxpayers have to pay for it. This guy could afford a diamond encrusted mask. Whatever scam plan they enact will will still have to pay for all their fiscal mismanagement.

Sadly his tax increase will get 80%+ at the voting booth and when the working stiffs get hit with it they will look around at each other and ask "How did this happen"?

Blaming Republicans? Hahahaha...can't get away with that one, Fatass. There ARE no Republicans in Illinois. We are officially a one party state, just like that other shithole, California.

Some politicians in Illinois call themselves Republicans, but they endorse gun-grabbing leftist Democrats like Sean Casten.

They are still going to hit us with every other tax regardless if it passes or not. So they can't get more from our income, that leaves every other tax we pay. Not much of a win for us.

I never was given a job by a poor person (or even middle class for that matter). All the jobs I had originated from a rich person, many of whom took risks to create a business that provided something positive for society. So why do people have to demonize them all the time? Why do the libtards want to punish success and hard work with higher taxes? If this higher rate is passed, anyone who owns a S-corporation, partnership or LLC, will want to take their business out of Illinois. Why pay 8% when TN, TX, FL are zero and IN is only 3%? DemoRats will increase rates on all middle class including eventual taxation of pensions and retirement income. Why be so gullible? I have my exit plan - I will be moving out of Illinois in 8 years. Counting the months down.

You do know that most “rich” own a second house or cottage out of state. All they have to do is declare residency at their second home, live there for 186 days (1/2 a year) and they can avoid the Illinois income tax. They can even keep their home in Illinois.

So who will get hit with higher income tax rates? Oh well yeah, it will be middle class suckers who vote for this Trojan Horse scam. Plus your retirement income and pension will get taxed.

Real prize is amending the pension clauses. Does anyone know if this is factual?

They don’t need an Illinois constitutional amendment to tax pensions they can do it now. Start by getting rid of all TIFS, You don’t need Lincoln yards anymore, no one wants to to live there. Chicago will never come back. The bug and the beanbag caused this, you own this. They are hoping for a fed bailout. I hope they don’t get it. Start worrying about your pensions boys and girls....

Essentially what happens when Pigzter’s graduated tax fails on the Nov ballot the they raise the income tax on everyone BY 20 (!!!!)...which actually raises it from 4.95 to 5.95%. Mentioning that the increase would be 20% sounds a whole lot dire than 1%. The graduated tax plan includes provisions to raise taxes without legislation...as if its needed with corrupt Dem majority.

What was the point of putting imbecile Stratton on the stage?
Not sure who’s a bigger idiot, but JB Creosote is just one water-thin after dinner mint (or tax evasion indictment) away from Stratton being next governor.

What did JB Pignutz do with the revenues from his doubled gasoline tax increase, or the license and registration increases ? He can’t control the spending and won’t control the tax and fee increases either.

Do not trust anything these idiots say in Springfield. Remember the tollway fees were to be there until it was paid for, the temporary payroll hike is still on the books and they just raised taxes on our plates and registrations. Trust them not and again Vote NO or be ready to pay even more.

I kind of figured that's how she was interpreting 20%.

But I still don't understand why the Illinois legislature does not have the power to use two separate tax rates. I assume it is constitutionally prohibited - I get that, but it is a strange thing to constitutionally prohibit.
