An Amusing Effort
We aren't paying for the article, but here's a quick summary:
- State Rep. La Shawn Ford (D-Chicago) introduced legislation last month that would allow Chicago voters to decide who should be the city’s police superintendent.
How this is a state issue as opposed to a local one, we have no idea, but Ford is famous for giving morons a bad name, so this isn't surprising. The Daily Line website also has a less-than-stellar rep among actual news outlets and we recall what most of our readers think of regular "news outlets."

La Shawn Ford is a radical black lives matter activist. He wants to make our job harder and harder.
Can someone acknowledge that State Rep. Kam Buckner pulled a Jussie Smollet and nobody dared call him on it?? Democrat politicians all weighed in at the outrage. Every media outlet reported his story. Not one reporter tracked down video of the incident that allegedly occurred outside the doors of a big box store. There was no hunt for the officer involved. Buckner wasnt giving up any identifying details. The idea that in 2020 a Chicago police officer would have stopped someone coming out of a big box store, demanded a receipt and compared it to a shopping cart of items is completely ridiculous. It’s not a coincidence that Buckner proposed a bill to eliminate racial profiling prior to this incident. Just like Kamala Harris anti-lynching bill prior to Juicy being juicy.

I searched a year back on on Illinois bill tracker but could not find the bill. But I found the following news story from NBC 5 from 2 Aug 20 which is disturbing.
CHICAGO AREA LEADERS CALL FOR ILLINOIS TO ABOLISH HISTORY CLASSES

“Rep. Ford Today in Evanston to Call for the Abolishment of History Classes in Illinois Schools
Concerned that current school history teaching leads to white privilege and a racist society, state Rep. La Shawn K. Ford, D-Chicago, will join local leaders today at noon at the Robert Crown Center in Evanston to call on the state to stop its current history teaching practices until appropriate alternatives are developed.
“When it comes to teaching history in Illinois, we need to end the miseducation of Illinoisans,” Ford said. “I’m calling on the Illinois State Board of Education and local school districts to take immediate action by removing current history books and curriculum practices that unfairly communicate our history. Until a suitable alternative is developed, we should instead devote greater attention toward civics and ensuring students understand our democratic processes and how they can be involved. I’m also alarmed that people continue to display symbols of hate, such as the recent display of the Confederate flag in Evanston.”
Attendees at Sunday’s press conference will discuss how current history teaching practices overlook the contributions by Women and members of the Black, Jewish, LGBTQ communities and other groups. These individuals are pushing for an immediate change in history changing practice starting this school year.p for generations. If Black History continues to be devalued and taught incorrectly, then it will call for further action.”
Evanston Mayor Steve Hagerty notes “As Mayor, I am not comfortable speaking on education, curriculum, and whether history lessons should be suspended. This is not my area. Personally, I support House Bill 4954 because I am interested in learning more and believe the history of Black people should be taught to all children and include all groups, Women, LatinX, and Native Indians who helped to build America.”
We were taught about all the groups mentioned above when I attended GS, HS and college. I don’t remember white privilege, racism. This Ford sounds like he is part of the movement to rewrite history the way the progressive/socialist/communists want it to change this country. Remember your have to tear down the foundations of the past to reshape the future. I would imagine he connects with the false narrative project of the New York Times 1619 project. Parents need to find out what their children are being indoctrinated with. The BLM-ANTIFA crowd that is causing the violence across this country have been brain washed from grade school thru the university. They are a lost generation and it’s too late for them.
Mr. Ford wants to end qualified immunity for us. We deserve to have qualified immunity. We risk our lives everyday for society.
People need to stand up for us. Blue lives matter. All lives matter.
Sure let the mob vote. But the elites will run the correct candidate, against other candidates, for the mob to vote for. Of course the mob then votes for the appropriate demoRats running for office. Give the mob the appearance of the taste of power, while unbeknownst to the mob they’re being deceived.

After that he became a real estate broker & in 2012 2012, Ford was indicted on charges of bank fraud, alleging he provided misleading evidence to obtain a $500,000 extension on a line of credit. The charges state he used the money for personal expenses rather than rehabilitating an owned property, as stated in the loan documentation. In 2014, all 17 felony counts of bank fraud and false information against Ford were dropped by federal prosecutors in exchange for his pleading guilty to a single misdemeanor income tax charge, and Ford's trial was removed from the federal docket

So the obvious natural progression is you become a politician. Sounds about right for Illinois.
Ford also wants to re-write the history your kids are taught.
Stuff like this is why I moved my family to Jasper County, Indiana.

When things settle down, the mob (BLM/Antifa) will think they have a right to have a seat at the table. One of Ford's biggest backers is former CPS principal Kenneth Hunter. Hunter was forced out at Prosser a handful of years ago for allowing unvetted coaches to haze and verbally assault a freshmen girl.
Hunter then ran for the Chicago Principals Admmin Assoc's presidency. But, right before it, he was arrested for phone sex harassment of an ex gf and lost by a landslide to bih mouth Troy.
Hunter also spoke highly of an HVAC teacher at Prosser that went to the shitter for sexually assaulting a female Prosser student after feeding her Sangrias. CPS settled with the girl for $780K.
Ford is who the friends he keeps.
Why does this involve State law? Because Chicago falls under the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/3.1-30-5) (from Ch. 24, par. 3.1-30-5). Sec. 3.1-30-5. Appointed officers in all municipalities.
(a) The mayor or president, as the case may be, by and with the advice and consent of the city council or the board of trustees, may appoint (1) a treasurer (if the treasurer is not an elected position in the municipality), (2) a collector, (3) a comptroller, (4) a marshal, (5) an attorney or a corporation counsel, (6) one or more purchasing agents and deputies, (7) the number of auxiliary police officers determined necessary by the corporate authorities, (8) police matrons, (9) a commissioner of public works, (10) a budget director or a budget officer, and (11) other officers necessary to carry into effect the powers conferred upon municipalities.
So, to change the manner of appointment requiring amending the existing State law, SCC and valued readers.

That means a police’ gotta have a campaign, continually collect campaign funds and maintain a sizable war chest. Many he just means have an elected executive superintendent to supersede the anointed one when politics requires an action to benefit the pol.

Not the worse idea coming from another part time elected official. Colonial-era Dart was elected repeatedly but political actions to be will oust him on the next round. If Hashéd Browns is still around after March I’d be very surprised. Through the door or out the window Larri won’t take the heat if 50 shot weekends continues for the rest of the year.
Why not just propose some Term Limits and Recall on all appointed and elected positions when they act in poor judgement?
Not a single current politician wants any of that action.

Ford is constantly in the news for a new idea to radically change the police department. The guy has done nothing but bring up terrible ideas that just helps keep his name in the news.
Ford also had a couple of houses that he left wide open in Englewood, top notch Realtor.
I would nominate Ozzie Guillen for Supe... the guys a god damn legend on the diamond and won a World Series with my beloved White Sox. Harold Baines could be the 1st Deputy and Bobby Jenks could be Chief of Patrol.
