We don't believe all of this. It's just too outlandish, and every GOOD rumor has to at least be believable. This fails on a number of counts:
- Are you kidding me, MANDATORY minimum of 12 hr days(aka you could be doing 12-18hrs), cancelled furloughs and ALL days off until Dec 26th starting 30 Oct. To make matters worse the districts will be forfeiting more manpower to 001 and 018 AND expect all hands on deck to be shipped to the top 5 districts with homicides. Anyone on the medical for light duty expect to be at a district desk or assigned to downtown in some capacity (if they can walk or breathe they can stand a line.) From a recently reassigned inside source the Mayor could care less about our well-being and the quote is, “ Any ignorant bastard who doesn’t do what they were hired for can go bag groceries at Aldi because that’s all they are qualified for anyway.” She also said she’s never seen a whinier group of pussies in her life as CPD and CFD.
The aldercreatures won't stand for it first of all.
Second, the OT associated with this would be almost equal to what's been spent so far this entire year.
Third, if Groot is trying to provoke some sort of job action, she's going to put taxpayers on the hook for millions more. This will end up in front a federal court at some point and injunctions may be issued across the board.
The only truly believable part is Groot's denigration of CPD and CFD, the two entities she's going to rely on to keep the city from burning to the ground.
We just let this one go through so everyone can see what we deal with most days.

My department (one of the biggest in the Northeast) just told us the same. 12 hour workdays and no time off, including scheduled days off, starting election week and going on indefinitely.
So the Mayor claims the biggest whiners are CPD and CFD well if I recall that’s not what she stated in her September news conference during the signing of the new CFD contract. She had nothing but praise for them and how “proud” she is to wear her CFD pin that was given to her 2 years ago.

Has anyone else noticed all of their slips for OT being kicked back and denied all of a sudden?, Signed and approved by the watch commander but then very slowly and one by one refused higher up, some slips from many months ago included. (OT) With working long days here’s a pertinent question flu shot or not? I’m debating whether to get it or not get it I have not got it over the past six or seven years but now with working these longer days thinking that my immune system will be even more compromised what do you think?

I'm higher risk with compromising health issues. I will get one this year however, I will get it at either my Dr, my clinic or a Walgreens and not CPD facility or FOP. In today's climate I cannot necessarily take a chance with my health. And I will get it when I am feeling well and have my RDO's coming up.

Just sickening. Everytime I shop at Aldi,I notice how well run, clean and how hard the employees work. Wouldn't it be nice if the city ran half as well. She makes it sound like an insult to work there!
