What ever happened to the previous commander/blue shirt who "commanded" the mayor's detail? Was it Felipe Garcia? Where did he finally land? Not asking for a friend because grunts like me have no friends.

Please be aware that BOP 20-0146.04 published yesterday regarding the Downtown Daily Deployment is NOT a detail, it is an assignment.
As such, there is no premium pay for a sergeant for going out of area or for being detailed for any reason.

Wait is the Collazo from 004? This is the problem with this dept. Didn't deserve to be made commander. Steps down, which is fine if you think its not gonna work out. But then you and the dept think it's fine to get it when it's convenient for you. Honestly clout or not you step down you should go to the end of the line. Will be a deputy in 2 yrs watch.

Lt. Callazo has been a great boss in 017, despite the odds against her with an understaffed district. Best wishes and good luck as she undertakes one of the hardest jobs in the department.
Is Brownie getting rid of captains finally? Been talk about it for a long time and hoping finally they get rid of this pointless XO spot. I notice that a lot of districts don’t have captains, haven’t had them for a while, and don’t seem to be getting replacements for ones that leave/retire. Are they getting rid of the spot by attrition? If anything, put them back on the watches. Having an XO is just ridiculous. The cmdr pawns his admin work on the XO and that’s all he does, if that. Total waste of money and manpower.

Please don't say anything bad about Collazo if you don't know her. I worked for her in 017 so l know what l am talking about. She is the best supervisor l ever had with this job. Bullshit. Most of us cops drove across the city to and from work for over 30/40 years. Over one hour each way, and we made half the salary of exempt rank. Had the opportunity to work for Collazo and she's a phenomenal boss. 014 is getting an awesome commander. As you can see, most on this thread speak highly of her. You're always going to get those few coppers that bitch and moan about EVERYTHING!! so give her a chance (coppers in 014) and you'll see just how good of a boss she is....and her being promoted because she's a F4 is completely asinine! I worked with Liz Collazo when she was a blue shirt in 017..She is a wonderful person and a very good police officer..She always made good arrests and she would always be the 1st or 2nd car on scene if a P.O. called a 10-1 or for an assist..She isn't afraid of hard work and she was never afraid to go toe to toe with some thug..We have become good friends over the years and Liz Collazo is 1 of the very few people that I would trust with my life..
Agreed with Harold Lewis. Worked with him in 007 on the 769 team years ago. One of the most diligent, competent, and disciplined police officers that I have ever met. Some might be upset with the jump in rank, but Harold is the real deal. A standout on this department full of misfit merit promoted bosses. Makes over promoted Snelling look like a fifth grader which is the sad truth. Most that made it legit don’t hold a candle to Harold as a gentleman and genuinely great human being with outstanding leadership skills. Glad to see him as a boss.

It's no surprise when a Caucasian gets promoted whether, they are qualified or not because whites are the majority.
Government agencies are UNDER PRESSURE to find well qualified minorities and women to hire and promote.
And furthermore, if they are not quite as well qualified as a white candidate with no clout, the minority/female candidate will be promoted over them. (ie; Barb "Pillows" WEST)

I’m well qualified but can’t get a merit promotion, didn’t score as high on the lieutenants test because
1. I didn’t have the test and was not a part of the Noble BS
2. I am not screwing the Bosses
