Like all commies, Groot has a multi-year plan:
The city unveiled a sweeping anti-violence plan Tuesday that will govern Chicago’s public safety efforts for more than two years.
The plan — dubbed “Our City, Our Safety: A Comprehensive Plan to Reduce Violence in Chicago” — was crafted over the last year by Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s administration in collaboration with several other government agencies, and it will focus on five pillars, each of which has a series of short- and long-term goals.
This should be good:
- The plan’s five pillars are
- empowering and healing people;
- protecting and securing public places;
- improving and advancing policing;
- affecting public policy;
- and planning and coordination.
Just a quick summary here:
- impossible for those determined to remain "victims"
- FAIL on so many levels this year
- this is going to cost money...lots of money
- Groot doesn't listen to anyone but herself
- again, FAIL with the current exempt staff
This made us laugh:
- Some initiatives are already in the works, while others are in the planning phase and still need funding secured. Ideally, the plans will be put into motion by May 2023 — the end of Lightfoot’s term.
Chicago is broke, so she's going to saddle the next poor bastard with some unfunded mandates that there is no way of paying for. Brilliant!

Then you send him to court hoping that they do their job. And if found guilty,, send to prison for long periods of time. It works, the longer the bad guy is gone the less crime you will have. Everybody knows restorative justice, peace circles, plea deals, probation and supervision do not work. Nor do marches or demonstrations produce any results.
Stop blaming the police and trying to reinvent and defunding the police. The blame here is the mismanagement and the incompetence of the local executive, legislative and judicial branches of government because their existence depends on chasing votes and power.

Why isn't our municipal government responsible for policing entire city-proper, including protection of PRIVATE PROPERTY? Bottom line, no money and it will take a multi year spending plan.

dress properly, that it’s okay to get on the government’s programs for every need.....
That none of society’s rules or laws apply to them? Never being taught

Case in point: after the riots and looting Downtown......was there ANY
PARENT OR GRANDPARENT who returned anything their children
broke into stores and took? Any? ONE PARENT?

The biggest problem with the Mayor's plan to reduce violence is that it's the MAYOR's plan and not the Superintendent's plan. So I have four kids who grew up in Chicago. All went to Catholic Schools. All went to good colleges. Three of the four have good jobs. Fourth still in college. The problems in the community are of such a diverse nature that there
is almost NO HOPE to stop the violence....the mayhem.....no matter
HOW much money you throw it at, no matter HOW many programs

Born into families ill equipped to raise them, to an uneducated parent who
is unable to assist them as they grow, a school system where they
are passed along, grade to grade, without LEARNING, while they deal
with drug/alcohol abuse in their household, taught by their inner circles
that it’s okay to steal, that’s its okay to not learn to speak properly,
dress properly, that it’s okay to get on the government’s programs for every need.....
That none of society’s rules or laws apply to them? Never being taught

Got a letter today from standtogetherfoundation.org requesting donations. The organization's stated purpose (according to pictured spokesperson, "Former Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown"), is to reduce recidivism "thanks to pre-release or immediate after release training" so that "a formerly incarcerated individual has a job or even a small business of his or her own" to support his or her family, and become "a valued member of the community."
There is no mention of Brown's current gig, but maybe that's what is inspiring Groot's crusade.
Wonder what Brown's interest is in Stand Together Foundation?

These aldermorons dont deserve to carry, let alone own a gun without the FOID and CCL card. Nice try, you shall be treated as much as a child if I see you violating a 430 ILCS FOID and CCL law.

So I have four kids who grew up in Chicago. All went to Catholic Schools. All went to good colleges. Three of the four have good jobs. Fourth still in college. Live on the south side not far from the killing fields. How is it these kids made it out ok. Parental responsibility. There are a lot of black families that have the same desire. Its too bad that a small percentage of all our populations don't get that point. As I was told back in the day, once the government gets involved in your life, you can forget anything you wanted to do. And that is what they are trying to do

Every alderclown has a gold enforcement badge as soon as they take (steal) office. They should show us how it is done and they are allowed to carry a pistol, let them run out on the mental calls with the social workers more popcorn watch the show!
