Pillows Retiring
Barb "Pillows" West dropped her papers yesterday for 15 October. We still have numerous contacts who remember her bringing her sleep-aid to work and snoozing the night away, and it paid off with her reaching what is arguably the #3 spot in the Department.
There's a laundry list of other "bosses" - in actuality hacks - who are also leaving on or about 15 October. Post em if you got em.

I was working once and there was a small group of assholes on the corner, she had us shooo them off of each corner and they just kept us walking back and forth like dummies. they had us doing that for like an hour. I remember what would have happened years ago, when people who weren't sawed off, little dummies who didn't take shit from these ghetto pests. Good riddance, you weren't worth a shit when you were sleeping all night and you aren't worth a shit now.

Many years later, my partner and I asked for a female search in 015, and who shows up but Commander Barb West.
We talked about the old Academy times and just the usual CPD BS.

Lemmer, Sanchez, Richards and a few Lieutenants and Captains still set to go before the end of October. The supervisory ranks are all well below their budgeted strength. It will be interesting to see what moves are made but there will be moves made for every rank.

Had one item they rendered inaccessible until the next major renovation. Went to talk to her about the problem and she's had a pillow behind her neck and under her ass.

I've been saying for years that to fix the pension issue they should cap your pension at the current rate of your last civil service rank promotion. That could help weed out some of this bosses promoting friends so that can get that gold star pension. Face it most of these bosses have promoted do nothing mutts to hiding places.

She was getting dumped because the training for the consent decree is in shambles. Barb got the ultimatum to retire or get dumped. She put her papers in.
Barb had an issue with the Eddie Johnson aftermath. She got involved the next day to get the story released about his medication. There’s a reason geugliemi left, he knew in the IGs report that it was gonna come out that there was a conspiracy to concoct the medication story and get it out to the media, file the fake CR number that was never originally filed and to call a press confrence to get ahead of the story. Barb was one of the confidants in that meeting. Couple that with the problems that they kept hitting her on with all the consent decree training and she had no choice but to leave. Like every other boss in the past, they are given the option to leave before it breaks. Everyone the night of the incident is fine. The people they are going after are the people the next day at headquarters who met and made the cover up happen. Most of them are gone or leaving such as google me and now west. Waller already left as did Google me’s assistant press manager.

Highest CAREER service rank in the Fire Department is Battalion Chief on the firefighting side and paramedic Field Chief on the ambulance side..
White shirts have to bale out this month to get 2% insurance.
It goes to 3 1/2% at the end of October.
