Sergeant Test Rumor

Again, only a rumor:

  • This is off topic, but I am assigned to headquarters and they are planning to restart the Sergeant's Test from the beginning. This makes sense since it has been around 9 months since Part One was given. That means that you will not see a new list for about two years.

2020 has been a disaster year all around. This "retest" would be stacked on top of other disasters. But in Groot's never ending quest for diversity quotas over qualified applicants who pass a test, sometimes you have to waste $4 million putting a new test together....never mind what people laid out for the Test Prep Classes with Bernstein and others.

Has anyone else noticed the big push for getting e-learning caught up and the 40 hours requirement being met prior to the end of the year? Supposedly, Brown got read the riot act by Groot regarding compliance numbers as outlined in the Consent Decree. Brown decided to suspend any command staff with compliance percentages under 90% at the end of the year.

Again, this is a rumor. Anyone posting "this is bullshit" or similar will be deleted. R-U-M-O-R. It's in the title. It's in the post labels. It might be a complete fabrication. We get it.

Well then, can we get a refund for the cost of the first test we had to pay for?

Not sure How a delay in testing affects overall job knowledge. You still have to have a grasp on how things work unless you're the magical merit who gets to write their name only and leave. So a dealy in parts isn't an excuse to restart anything. If true sounds like the 9 month excuse is to get these morons who couldn't pass the first part another shot. God we are doomed.

Question: I didn’t take the test, but didn’t they charge a fee? Can’t someone raise holy Hell just for that alone. All the time in the world they could’ve prepared an online test. They could’ve opened up literally dozens of test sites at Public schools to keep the b.s. social distancing “rule.” My guess is whoever was in charge with this task, basically took the last 6 months off “working” from home.

They need more time to figure out how to “pass” more diversity.

So Brownie is convinced he’ll still be employed by Groot at the end of the year? More than likely, groot threatened him so he’s passing it along, but she has plans for him.

I’d love to see his employment contract. I’m sure that Fkng bch wrote it and he will be lucky to get out of town with a recycled Walmart bag and his dirty undies.

Go Brown!

No tests all. Look at the recent list for explosives k9. Explosives list has been gone through. The peoole they promoted for the next class came off the patrol dog list. Seperate applications for both positions and seperate lists for both positions. Anyone of the 100 people who got an interview and whose name didnt even make it on the explosives list should file a greivance now.

Rumors, why would they put another test together when they can’t figure out how to put part 2 together and start all over when they can’t figure out how to put part 2 together. They should simply use the scores from part 1 for promotions. Part 1 was fair, recorded on scantron sheets and graded by computer. Throw part 2 out because that’s where the scandals come in. Part 2 is always questionable and always will be. People are prepared to file a lawsuit regarding part 2 already.

This is NOT a rumor - Brown went all “bad parent” on the Bureau Chiefs and threatened them with getting dumped if they don’t comply with the consent decree. Now that’s fine as a concept. However, since the department has no idea what it’s doing as to the consent decree it’s just another sign of Brown being the clueless mope that he is.

You want the $20 back or the 2900$ Birdstain study guide. I’d like both refunded as Birdstain didn’t help alot plus I now have the actual test in front of me so no worries there.

What’s there to actually grieve? Both k9 spots each make D2 pay. If someone got a patrol dog before but would rather have a bomb dog, oh well, that’s too fucking bad. Get over it.

Honestly, in my 20 years on the job. It is my personal and humble opinion that the last group of promoted Sgt’s were some of the best Sgt’s we had in our district from the list. Out of the 4 we got 3 are surprisingly good the other is a do nothing.

I agree, the cheaters were already promoted. They were somewhere between 1 and 300. The command should go to about 1200 on the list. That’s where the good pickings are.

... you have a point. They should make at least 500 off of the list, because merit help to knock them out.

They should, but the city will never scrap part two. That’s where the cheating takes place. Everyone who score above 70 should be promoted.

It’s simple, if you failed part 1, then you failed but, if you scored 70 or above the city should promote you just for studying all of that crap.

I did not take the last sergeants exam, because I wasn’t keen on how part 2 would be administered.

My decision not to take the exam was based on what was delineated by the city as the testing process.
The city cannot simply change the process in the middle.

Had it been made clear before registration that it would be part 1 only, I would have taken the exam.

If the city goes that route, my attorney is already excited to get involved.

Good luck to everyone who is planning to sue over the test. Especially the people who did not even take the test. Let us know how that does not work our for you and how much you paid your lawyer to not do anything for you. You guys have been watching too much court on television and the movies. I would have played the lottery if I knew the winning number. I did not play the lottery, but because the number that I would have used came up, I am suing.

They are going to restart the test. Get ready to start from scratch.

Wasn’t it posted a few months ago that there was a FOIA request and 87% of the people who took part one passaed since the passing score was around 55%. So what’s the point of another part 1 when they are going to lower the passing score to ensure another 87% is going to pass. I guarantee you if the passing score was 70% (like the testing company always suggested) We’d probably only have around 500 people pass this last test. Not too many people scored over 70 that I know.

70% should’ve been passing in the first place. If so, 500 would’ve passed and the city would only have to figure out how to put 500 candidates through part 2, but the city wanted a larger pool so they made 55% the passing score. This is the only department that lowers the passing score under 70%.. Candidates who didn’t study passed part 1.
