Aldercreature Lopez is all over this story:
Sneed has learned the injured horse nearly ridden to death by the “Dread Head Cowboy” in an anti-violence protest on the Dan Ryan Expressway, is safely on the mend and on her way to recovery since being moved to a horse farm in the south suburbs.
“She’s rallied,” said Ald. Ray Lopez (15th), a strong advocate of humane animal care who works closely with the city’s Animal Care and Control Department.
“But I’m told it should never be ridden again,” he said.
Lopez doesn't even make a secret he's Sneed's source for all this:
But Sneed also hears Hollingsworth — who has been seen at protests riding horses around the city this summer — was “already on the city’s Animal Care radar months ago for riding a horse near the expressway,” Lopez said.
“This is not the first time,” Lopez said, even before Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office tapped the cowboy to do outreach for the U.S. Census. “We had videos and pictures of him multiple times before the mayor hired him to be her census outreach person/cowboy.
“We were trying to find out where he lived before the mayor hired him,” said Lopez, who has frequently sparred with Lightfoot during her administration. “We were actually on the hunt for him due to concern about how his horse was being kept.”
The stable where the horse is being kept has had to hire extra security following this irresponsible bit of reporting by Sneed and grandstanding by Lopez.
Anyone doubting that Lopez is running for mayor?

There are two Lopez running for Mayor. The first is the one you mentioned. The second is the one who wasn’t actually a Lopez, but changed his name to Lopez after running against Danny Handjob Solis in 2015. The one who changed his name hates the police. He also seems to hate himself, as his name is really Sigcho and that didn’t sound Mexican enough for him to win. That guy is also a communist. Claims he’s a socialist, but he’s really a communist.
Ray is running, but the downtown money will never get behind him. Keep your eye on Hopkins.

Lopez is good. Very pro police and anti gang and anti Groot. They bombed his office on 47th St twice in an effort to back off but he marches on. He has confronted gang bangers in person and shows no fear of their BS.

Dear SCC, as much as you like to pick on Ole Ray, I think you need to give him some slack. He is exactly who we need these days. in Will County. It's public knowledge. He also has an
uncle active in the Chicago black cowboy scene.

Well that's not too hard since he's been featured in Curbed
Chicago and the New York Times, The Tribune, and assorted
minor outlets picking up on the main story. Census Cowboy
is quite the celebrity. NOT ONCE have these publications
questioned the treatment of the animal or where the money
comes from for care and feeding.
Horses are extremely expensive to keep (well). Know of
anybody who owns 5 of them like the Cowboy? What's up
with that shady GoFundMe page? Last we checked, it was
well over $85K. Looks like touring is out for the remainder of
2020. So what is the money being used for?
While I have absolutely no doubt Lopez will run for mayor, the Illinois Republican Party would be wise to run a candidate who displays common sense, runs on a platform of fiscal responsibility and law and order. One who demands people are held accountable for their decisions, especially politicians. And a similar platform for a Republican running for Cook County Board President.
Enough is Enough. 90 years of Democrat corruption has to come to an end!

That horse was very dehydrated after the run on the D. Ryan.
The horse is so beat up it should never be ridden again.

First of all, he admits using his horses as animal therapy to
self-treat his mental depression. That's questionable.
What happens when he's separated from the animals, like
when he's in jail? This man needs a Medical Doctor and some
medication, and a Court Order to stay away from all horses.
He's believing his own bullshit P.R. at this point, which is very
dangerous.
And yet this guy has raised almost $90K on GoFundMe so he can get more horses and buy land to build a barn.

My wife is related to the Solis rat... it’s been 4 years since he has not been to their family get together in Indiana. The last time he was bragging how he did not get his brother a job for streets and San. He is a big time asshole. I mention his name and ask where he is at and no one acknowledges his name. It’s like he does not exist.
My guess Larri LightFührer and JB Pignatz will use the ailing horse as an excuse to delay the census (again) into next year.
