CTU Wants Taxes Raised

Anything these assholes support, we're against:

Their budget is already $7 billion and they spend it like drunken sailors on shore leave and it still isn't enough. If they get their hands on any part of another $3 billion? What the CTU (and Putzker) aren't telling you is that taxes are going up on anyone (or any household) making $250,000.

A cop married to a teacher is getting pretty close to $200,000. With overtime, they could be in dangerous territory.

The city can tax your income, the county, etc. So, maybe the state won't raise your taxes (ha...yeah right) but the other folks certainly will. Anyone who falls for this is stupid. And the fact that this all stems from one of the richest people in the state who did all he can to avoid paying more taxes (toilet anyone) and then turns around and says the rich need to pay more WITH A STRAIGHT FACE. These “scholarly educators” have been crying the blues about reducing class size since 1965. All the while total enrollment has dropped by about 200,000 students. They’ve quit the the classroom for easy gigs like counselor, community relations coordinators, human relations coordinator, and get this, Disciplinarian (male and female). Taxes in Illinois went up 2 billion the year JB was elected Governor. They added taxes to everything, it did not help and that money was swallowed up in the dark hole of more spending. Unless there is significant reform in government in this state, there should not be any more tax increases. Pouring more money into the dark hole of public education is not the answer unless there is reform and that has been proven over and over again.

One of the biggest ways for CPS to save money and put it back in the classroom is the bidding process for construction work on fields, buildings, playlots, etc.

Right now, a company offering the most work and goods in their bid for the lowest price tag generally wins the contract. But, not one mother fucker...not in the mayor's office, attorney general, FBI, Dave Savini, or anyone else has questioned or even noticed is.....

Why isn't anything being done to stop the winning bid company from notoriously going over the accepted bid in overages or add-ons by 25%-40% or CPS allowing millions of dollars to be added on job without any kind of public vote? In the end, a company with the lowest bid will go over the highest bids.

Lake View high school initially had a bid of $16M on it's renovation costs, then BOOM!!!! the amount of the work increased to $23M

https://www.cpsboe.org/content/actions/2017_12/17-1206-RS1.pdf

A construction company with the winning bid for Taft high school's new athletic field initially had their $2.5M bid accepted by CPS. Then, there were add-ons to the bid after the company had won the bid. Lights, bleachers, and letter and logo stitching on the field. All these add-ons put another $1M on the bid without a vote and only a nod by CPS Law and Procurement.

In contrast, the Park District put nearly the exact same field as Taft's with the add-ons by Taft's other school in the Dunning neighborhood for the price tag of $2.3M.

The add-on work to the renovation on Eckersall Stadium is legendary in terms of going over the bid. Have an FBI or ATG pal looked those numbers up.

Once the ATG or FBI starts tracing these bids and the process by CPS procurement, you'll see ties from the likes of Pedro Soto Jr. and Arnie Rivera to Danny Solis to Ed Burke and back to CPS Law and Joe Moriarty

Oh, my, oh, gosh, an old man here. I wasn't, and am not very smart, and surely not the kid sitting in the front row waving my hand in civics class yelling "I know, I know."

The auto shop is were I hung out, learning a trade I never used.

But even now, after so many years of killing brain cells with gin and whiskey, I can still remember the discussion of the ratification of the "soak the rich" 16th Amendment. The idea was to tax the rich, starting they placed a 2% tax on everyone making over $20,000 and a 7% on those making $500,0000. Most people made less than $500 and fell in the 1% bracket.

Ah, but it was a trap. There is something call inflation. In a few years, as wages rise, more and more people will be classified as wealthy, and be subjected to the tax.

Those Democrats, like the commies, take the long view. You'll all be paying in a couple of years.

Fire up the boiler and burn those textbooks, school as we know no longer exists.

CTU already have those item included in their last contract.
What they delivered since is zero...for decades, epecially now that they are on a 3 hr er’learnings StayAtHome program.

• Are those skool nurses, counselors, social workers that got, are they making home visits or are they StayAtHome paid advisors also ?
• Are those empty classrooms small enough yet?
• Sustainable community skools ... like all of them expensively retrofitted with air conditioning for one or two months in the empty, shortenEd school year?
• How much improvement has been made with special ed, anyone can have learning disorders.
• And why stop at bilingual when they can demand more global trending languages.

Oh, and the significant wage and benefit increase...it’s all for the StayAtHome Kids.(Did you know a second year teacher making $52k will achieve a $72k salary by 2024, that’s a 35% pay hike...for the Kids.)

$10 Billion would never be enough for CTU-CPS.

The number of millionaires and billionaires in this state is very small and raising taxes on those folks won't even put a small crease in the state's bloated budget. Remember, this isn't taxing people sitting on millions in savings or other assets. It's about taxing people generating millions in annual income. Very few families have taxable income in the millions of dollars annually.

This was always about going after successful middle-class families and small businesses. The tax increases will hit families in the low six-figure range very quickly and by design.

Like everything the democrats put out, it's a huge whopper of a lie, start to finish.

Such socialist dogma. So millionaires are not paying their share now? The CPS has not minded that their governor has not paid his share since he has been in office? The problem is they want socialism for everyone else. Millionaires, and billionaires have the money to pay accountants to drive their returns through the 747 size holes that are always written into the tax code. I am not familiar with the taxes in Illinois, but I can do math. For instance 10% of a million is $100,000 in taxes, while 10% of $100,000 is $10,000. It is the same mantra everywhere. The flat tax is as fair as you can get if you make it mandatory with no deductions. making people pay the same rate, which is fair, does not mean they pay the same amount. Look how many generations live off of public money and never once contribute to their own living, at least legally.

This entire matter of " paying their fair share" really is funny and a fake narrative. half of this country does not pay either federal or state income taxes, and less then 30% of tax payers itemize their taxes. Most billionaires do not go to HR Block to get their taxes done and use law firms to get every possible write off and dodge. Most of their income does not fall under the IRS definition of earned income and does not generate a state tax, plus they use off shore accounts, such as our beloved governor, who has yet to show his tax returns. All a ploy for the ignorant public who always want something for nothing.
