We've been proposing exactly this for years:
RICHMOND, VA- The pure “genius” of the Virginia General Assembly knows no bounds.
One of the leading indicators of a drunk driver at night is a car that is operating with no lights on. Criminals who are casing neighborhoods for burglaries also like to cruise around with their lights off.
Under a law passed by the General Assembly, police officers would no longer be able to use operating without lights lit as probable cause to conduct a traffic stop. There are numerous other equipment violations that are included as well.
A democrat governor - the one who dressed up as a klansman - has started to come up with a list of laws that the "communerty" doesn't have to follow and police can't stop them for.
We mean, what are the purpose of headlights anyway? Or tinted windows? Or obstructed views, cracked windshields, no brake lights, invalid plates. Those are just reasons to keep the "communerty" down.
But it sure makes policing in Virginia a lot easier.

More waste of taxpayer money at Chicago Public Schools. The Local School Counsel (LSC) elections normally take place at report card pickup. Most schools do not have enough people sign up to fill the LSC seats and almost every seat goes uncontested with very few parents, teachers or community voting. The past election was canceled and here is the new CPS plan. Chicago Taxpayers will now print up millions of ballots, hundreds for each school in CPS because each school has different LSC members. The ballots will then be mailed, you pay for this, to every CPS parent and CPS employee in the whole city. The letters have return postage, you also pay for that. The school will be open for one day to allow voting in person, you pay extra to have CPS employees do this. The votes are counted by a CPS employee who also gets paid extra for this. Even if the LSC at your school is uncontested, which is almost all of them, the ballots will be printed, mailed and counted. I would love to get the final cost of all this. Didn’t CPS hand out thousands of free computers and free internet that could be used for voting? Shouldn’t voting only take place at schools with contested elections?

There are regulations about what and how roadway surfaces are marked. What is painted on the road is supposed to have some relation to traffic on the road. Centerlines, lane divider lines, turn lanes, school zones, crosswalks, parking spaces etc., etc. However, NOWHERE are private or political things like "BLACK LIVES MATTER" or "BLM" allowed!
It seems like local officials have been painting streets with "BLACK LIVES MATTER" including Oak Park. At the very least road fund money should be cut off to Oak Park and any other place that allows this.

Hey if they made a law stating head lights are not required, so be it, we enforce whatever laws they pass. They decided headlights are no longer required at night. As stupid as it may be, and it’s super stupid, it’s how they want their society in that community to run. Criminals can’t keep getting arrested and stopped for breaking the law if there’s no laws. Just make it all legal. Only sure fire way to stop the incarceration of the group of people who are chronically breaking the current laws and rules. Less rules to enforce, easier job, enjoy it.

My previous minivan had automatic headlights. I got so used to them that when I brought my new minivan home I realized the headlamps were off and couldn't find the switch to turn them on. I had to pull over and read through the owner's manual to figure out where the switch was. I thought the minivan I bought had most of the neat stuff but somehow the packages I bought missed automatic headlamps. It is also missing a roof rack. You would think every car would come with a roof rack. But apparently not.

Every once in a while I do see someone driving at night without lights. But, " a crap load of people", absolute nonsense. Sometimes a fuse might have blown, sometimes the driver accidently turns off the auto light feature, but that, to me is rare. Driving without lights at night can be a death sentence for someone . Yout " truth be told" is not factual at all. Things are better with LED then with the old headlights. Does it warrant a citation? No, but it sure warrants a stop. What these liberals are doing is trying to tamp down any police/citizen interactions, as many as they can in their mistaken belief that the cops have the potential to shoot any motorist that they stop. The facts don't back up the bullshit BLM claims. But, it should be OK with the police at this point seeing that the political class will run over you if anything goes sideways. In today's anti-police climate all traffic stops should be history anyway.
OT Did you hear? Certain commanders received an emails about having too many sworn P.O.’s inside. Commanders are trying to figure out ways to bury the P.O.’s on the sheets instead of dumping them. Playing Chess with the sheets. 2 to 3 officers sharing one hour worth of work and doing the same daily tasks.

Glad to see some business owners are finally saying FU to Groot's lockdown mandates
“As part of the new rules, bars without food licenses will need to stop indoor service again. All liquor sales at all establishments must end at 9 p.m.,” ABC noted.
Lightfoot also demanded “non-essential businesses” must close between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Businesses she deems “essential” will be allowed to operate as usual. Those businesses include grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants that serve as take-out.
Lightfoot has also banned gatherings of more than six people, and she claims she will not allow any gatherings after 10 p.m.
But some business owners are finally speaking out. The owners of Four Treys Tavern, for instance, threatened to stay open in defiance of Lightfoot’s orders.
“I just figured the hell with closing up, I’ll just stay open,” Four Treys co-owner Paul Seng told ABC. “Give me my license money back. If you’re going to raise my taxes and all that stuff and put me out of business, then well, it’s insane.”

You know Groot is already in contact with the band Men Without Hats song "SAFETY Dance" and Greasy Awady and Groot are working on some dance routines for the new Safety Policing.
They should check the lyrics because I think it goes something like ....we can like we are from out of this world/we can act like an imbecile ---- fitting though.

A lot of crime has been solved by lights not on or non functional lights. My father a very wise man said to me make sure headlights and other lights are functioning to make sure you don't get stopped. Wasn't there a rap song about riding dirty. My friend a police officer in the burbs one of the first things made him pulled over a driver was non functioning lights on a car and he may of saved a few lives from drunk and tired individuals. I guess that they want more people to die in their BS everything is racism chant.
