City, County and State government hasn't generated even half of anticipated annual revenues, yet continue to issue paychecks to employees who haven't reported to work in over seven months AND come up with millions upon millions in "relief" in an effort to buy the next election.

They are still spending federal (taxpayer) Cares Act money that passed in March 2020. Under the Cares Act, over 2 Trillion taxpayer dollars were given out. Illinois received almost $5 Billion. The funds distributed earlier this year has not been exhausted yet. It takes time to set up these bailout programs. Trump is holding up a 2nd bailout because money from the first is still being spent. Money can only be spent for approved reasons.

Try to contact the Illinois Unemployment Office and make a request for a call back about your unemployment PPP. They will never call back or you will wait literally weeks. Why? Because they want you to quit calling so they can divert the money for votes. We are talking about phone calls and a computer. Remember when JB was addressing this issue in March, April, May and said he was going to fix it. It's October and it is worse because it was intentional.
And they want another stimulus package. Trump pass on Illinois.
Civic associations calling for layoffs and reductions in force. One article that I read called for less exempt members in the police department. That is something most cops can agree with. Many of these units could be run by a lieutenant and maybe even a sergeant, not an overpaid, political hack. Now, the department has established a board to hear cases for reduction in rank of D-2/D-3. I can see a grievance coming out of this. So, you are a detective in one unit and deemed not satisfactory. Would you be satisfactory if you were in another unit? Doing a different job? Were you given the opportunity? Would more training help? You take an examination for detective ( unless you have clout) and you get a raise in pay and pension. Taking that away from you without just cause is harming you and worthy of a grievance . Lets see how this one works out.Maybe they should have the same system for the exempt members, many of whom are incompetent.
So the Democrats shut the economy down. People lose their jobs, eroding the tax base. Then the Dems hand out tax dollars for free to float the person you had fired.
Or they could just leave the economy alone.

And the County Board and Sheriff refused to use Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act funding to pay Cook County Sheriff Correctional Officers for hazard pay to work in the jail, said it wasn’t necessary and they weren’t “wasting” the money on us.

Are Cook County Judges,Assistant States Attorneys,Public Defenders,Court Clerks,and Administrative Staffs still being paid in full with benefits to stay home,vacation,Protest,Etc??????

This is why the City of Chicago, Cook County, and the State of Illinois are bankrupt. The Democratic Party keeps spending money it does not have. Now the State wants to raise taxes. I maybe wouldn't mind a tax increase IF the State would cut spending. However, this will not occur with our current governor. The more money he obtains, the more money he will spend. It is a cycle that can not stop. If the State does not cut spending than why raise taxes.
If Biden wins... he will print trillions and trillions to hand out. Eventually, money will drop in true value. Watch ... it’s coming. Hyper inflation
This is why I don't believe the city and county are broke. We have incompetent asshats in office that can't even balance a checkbook and keep giving handouts. Just like the morons who took their stimulus check to party instead of paying bills. I don't believe in bailing out irresponsible people and using tax dollars when we should be paying down debt and repairing infrastructure. We can't keep businesses closed. Businesses need to open.
This is nothing more than a thinly-veiled "redistribution of wealth" by communist politicians to shitheads in exchange for votes.

Of the two, the latter is easier and LESS expensive for me. So fuck 'em. Getting out as soon as I possibly can. Taking the whole extended family, selling the houses. Although some of my neighbors are J/O's and I'm tempted to rent them to Section 8, and write off the losses...
Talked to my doctor office about an appointment for next week. I have a cough and a little head congestion. It's one of my normal two or three a year sinus infection, usually brought on by weather change, kids back in school picking up stuff, etc. No fever, no aches, no taste loss. The nurse says, "you wouldn't believe how many people have say the same thing, but then they test positive for Covid-19". I say, "that's a bit odd, that this year they all happen to have covid-19. Seems the test might not be doing a good job distinguishing THIS coronavirus from all the other coronaviruses over the years. " She say's "I don't know, but since you have symptoms, you have to have a test before you can have a sick visit/annual exam, office policy"
No wonder everybody tests positive...it's a common cold test. I wish I was devious enough to pull this type of thing off...
Kane County got more federal money than they can spend from the Act. Committees had to be formed to allocate the money for Covid reasons, within a certain time frame. Most people are not aware of this or who may be eligible for money but not aware it exists or how to apply for the money.

CPD need one exempt , Superintendent David Brown .
CPD does not need any rank above Lieutenant .
Eliminate Captains and every exempt rank , Offer position to Sergeants , Lieutenants that were promoted in rank order , you can even offer positions to Police officers that passed sergeant test but were assed over by merit political hacks , many of these political hacks that jumped over current beat officers are Captains and above .
Give the units , District to qualified police officers , offer the car , adjustment of work hours and a yearly bonus based on performance .
We have plenty of Police Officers working a Beat Car , Tactical Car , Sector Sergeants ,Field Lieutenants that will supervise any unit m district , areas better than the command staff that cannot pass a promotional exam .
Try it , save pension . Save money .
