Short Districts

Got a couple of these in the e-mail. 

Here's the 024 District midnight sheets:

For the non-police readers, we'll try to explain, working from top to bottom:

• WC is Watch Operation Lieutenant (Watch Commander);
• 2100 start is a Desk Sgt, three Officers (usually bid spots); 02B is the Secretary and 02S is the camera room;

 So far, that's eight cops inside.

• one single Street Sgt, which is a Consent Decree violation (2430);
• 3 early beat cars up (11, 13, 31) with five officers;
• 2 early beat cars down (23 and 33); 
• 4 late cars up (12, 22, 32, 72) and 
• 1 late car down (12)

1 Sgt, 13 cops working the street.

Here's where it gets fun:

• 1 Sgt, 3 cars with 5 PO's detailed downtown for the night - that means they aren't working in their District of Assignment
  

And we don't even know what the 2 Sgts and 19 PO's detailed out of the District (lower left) means except they aren't working in 024. you'd think that the aldercreatures and taxpayers might be a bit miffed at that.

Check out 009 on Days:

Breaking this down:

• the WC and two street sgts (20 and 30) in 009, but a Sgt detailed downtown (40);
• eight one man cars early plus a wagon - but 935 and 973 are down NO MANPOWER;
• three one man cars on the late side - and three 2 man cars DETAILED downtown and 934 as a down car;

When the early side goes home, instead of 7 cars covering the District until 3rd Watch hits the streets, there are three officers on the street. Three TOTAL. That's it. How can this even be considered safe?
