- Fox 32 just did a piece on our training issues and according to them the city claimed that we have a choice to take the training on line or in person . Has anyone been notified of this?

Or... go to the training and simply call an ambulance on site because you feel sick and take 2 weeks off.

From someone on the inside at the academy, the reason we have never been given the option for remote learning is because they would never be able to justify all of the staff at the academy. Where else can you stumble through a prewritten PowerPoint slide for 30 minutes and call that a day of work? Why are over 5 instructors necessary to teach a daylong class when all they do is read slides they didn’t even write?

At field force training, we practice crowd control formations, shoulder to shoulder, with no masks. This is after we sit in a room for several hours of power point, sitting on chairs that may or may not have been sanitized. Then, we go on lunch so the 7600 units can sit in the chairs we just vacated for their roll call. After our lunch, we now sit in the same seats they just vacated for more power point. Then we head into the hall to be issued training batons and training filters for our gas mask, again, which may or may not have been sanitized. What could go wrong?
At PJ3 today a Detective let instructor Sean from the ADL and his EGO talk himself into a corner. When he was called out for being biased, he fought back tears as he admitted to everyone that he was indeed biased against the Police.(in a round about way) When queried why he felt this way he said it was from reading an article in the Reader years ago.
Guess what class he was teaching these lowly evil coppers?

Who the fuck in this bullshit department said there is an option for online training?? Are trying to be slick because no such thing exists. They have zoom training for one class and that’s PJ3. PJ3 let’s the instructors zoom from home but all the officers have to sit in a room together and watch it. So you still have 50 officers in one room. You can do training at home. They need to set it up where the officers are logged as being in attendance by logging in and staying logged in for the duration which is monitored by a sgt. Let the officers do the training from home, if they don’t have the means to do it from hole then they can be allowed to do it from any department computer. It’s simple. Just do it that way. If it’s use of force then the trainer should record numerous role play scenario videos and show them. After each video they can have a debrief and a Q and A session for the scenario instead of a hands on. Have the trainers wear a go pro while making the pre recorded scenario so you can see and understand the point of view of what the officer is seeing and experiencing during the scanario.. it can be done, pretty easily...

Wish it were true. I've been harassed to no end, followed in stores by clerks trying to make me wear a mask from only God knows where, masks pushed at me by hands without gloves, frightfully abused at the state dmv (to the point a total stranger leaned over and stated i didnt deserve to be treated so badly), and told unless i tightened my scarf mask, a clerk standing behind plexiglass would not let me purchase merchandise. Worse, some mask crazy sought out my identity then tried to get me fired because my scarf slipped and i was adjusting it.
All of these and other horror story control fresks totally and completely violated social distancing. I could have easily touch them without extending my arms. My mouth and nose were covered. In fact, once someone insisted i pull my scarf up to mid eye level to completely cover my entire nose. Even tellimg them to leave if they're concerned is useless.
Ps Walgreens prrmits employees to wear "charity related" aka blm gear. Do not spend a penny at their stores. They are anti blue.
Just like MSM to not check facts. Did they bother to interview one officer assigned fo training? Can I hold the department to this? I have 2 trainings scheduled in December,

I was at Use of Force the other day. I had called FOP the morning before because I had a few questions about the BS the City was pulling with this double back crap. While in class, I wore a mask the entire time because I have a sick family member with cancer. Many coppers initially wore a mask but most removed them as the class went on. No complaint from me on that, they have that right. No one should be made to wear a mask if they don't want too. There were about 40 coppers in the room. My gripe is more that the City put me in that position. They are rotten, they treat us like garbage and use us for political purposes. Ironically, toward the end it became a mad dash to get the class over. Instructors were all nice but put in the pitch about City training deadlines and fines the City could get. You should look into why COPA stripped 2 officers from 011 for a shooting which occurred over 2 years ago.
The one officer has recovered over 80 handguns in a 3 month span in 011 this year. But clearly in the most violent district, COPA wants to strip the hardest working cop. Also, Superintendent Brown responded late to COPA’s allegstions outside of 90 days. Now these officers will be put in no pay status and facing seperation before police board for a shooting ruled justified by the states attorney, and clearly justified on bodyworn camera because they can do whatever the fuck they want with no oversight. Armed with handgun. Why were these officers allowed to work for 2 years if they were such a “liability”? Fucked up.

Not only did they not get the message. They are too dumb for their own good. There is more to the story. There are probably many other complaints against these officers.
We work for the city of chicago, we don't die for the city of chicago. The bossholes have been told this training must be completed or kiss your spot goodbye. So keeping their spot is more important than getting everyone sick or putting out skeleton crew watches city wide. The primary responsibilty of all bosses is the safety and welfare of the officers under their command. Grow a set and start acting like bosses.
Sure no problem. What else would you like canceled? Maybe 1st watch no likes midnights. How about we refuse to go to “disturbance with mentals. No one likes going to those either.
Stop blaming supervisors. You have the FOP if they can’t stop it then suck it up and go or hit the medical.

At field force training, we practice crowd control formations, shoulder to shoulder, with no masks. This is after we sit in a room for several hours of power point, sitting on chairs that may or may not have been sanitized. Then, we go on lunch so the 7600 units can sit in the chairs we just vacated for their roll call. After our lunch, we now sit in the same seats they just vacated for more power point. Then we head into the hall to be issued training batons and training filters for our gas mask, again, which may or may not have been sanitized. What could go wrong?

Recently witnessed at roll all a newly minted Lt. tell everyone that they are lucky to have jobs after going on about how this training by civilians who were asking loaded questions about police shooting civilians which upset pos and crs were initiated after their responses ,every po was offended by this bs ,thankfully an old timer chimed in and said what was on every ones mind that city is lucky pos show up every day .These new bosses are drinking the kool aid

I can back up the PJ3 commentator. Sean MacGill was caught in a flat out lie regarding CPD “History”. He became upset, used profanities and challenged anyone disagreeing with him to turn on their mic’s and argue with him. Nice try, you’ll have us labeled as deplorables with CR#’s to follow.
The other lady was nice and got through the curriculum. Sean was adversarial and CLEARLY biased himself. He cited the long disgraced Conroy of the Reader and supported fired and disgraced David Protess’ Innocence Project. He even admitted to a friendship with a murderer who was later mass released by Gov Ryan (God Bless the Willis Children) - not found innocent, but bc of a death penalty moratorium.
He finished with a condescending “read some history”. Well Sean, put down WaPo or the NYT for a minute and do some reading yourself. Here are a few options; anything by Marty Prieb (tough personality but smart guy), Heather MacDonald and Chimera.

I was there too and I also back up what that guy wrote about Pj3
The teacher first started his tirade when he disagreed that the CTU and public schools were people who helped spread mis-trust and anger towards the police department, especially the Burge classes. It ended with him so upset about being caught lying about that case that he tried to move on, but some guy told him he needed to address his bias just like he was teaching us to.
He couldnt handle it, and i was frickin' laughing! That freak actually had a crack in his voice and was fighting back tears when he issued his statement that even the great him, could possibly have some bias. Totally unprofessional and completely anti police.
