OT: can someone address what’s going on with the medical section. It is absolutely impossible to get through to anyone there. You have to call them after testing positive but after trying for over two days it’s impossible. I’ve talked to others who say the same exact thing. With everyone falling ill, shouldn’t they have extra people working there so we can actually get a hold of someone when we need our medical section most?
Secondly, how has the department not set up some sort of testing for its members? Some site up north and south or central where we can go and skip the line and get right in with our credentials so we can get a rapid test before we bring the virus to work and spread it to everyone. I waited a week to just be able to get in to get tested. The whole time possibly spreading it to everyone.

The offender could not be re-arrested for not attending because there’s no law on the books that makes it a crime to not attend a workshop, also, the offender could not then be given a court date if they did not attend. Referring the offender to the workshop WAS the punishment. There is no real legal way to enforce it

Yes, these type of punishments are not in vogue these days. Out in the suburbs, the cities fine the parents for any misdeeds of their kids. What good does that do? Many parents just do not have the money and can't control their 16/17 year old. Bring back the weekend work details for these teens, especially for auto theft.

If one is sentenced to community service and does not show up there are generally negative consequences, just as there are for not showing up to those goofy safety classes instead of getting a traffic citation.

But the Physicians Immediate Care offices have rapid Covid testing. Results in 10 min. They only take ppl that have health insurance. Just have to go on their website...pick your location and then pick from the times they have available. They will text you 15 min before your test telling you to arrive in the office . I've already had 2 tests and I was in and out in less than 30min. Didn't pay anything. Good luck. Stay safe.

It's been a minute since I was last in court, but usually the judge said something like "upon successful completion of X program" was the stipulation otherwise you violated the term of "conditional release" and can be brought back in front of the judge OR you returned on X date to show proof to the judge you completed the conditions (program)
When a victim requests police service, the appropriate question should be “Did you vote for Foxx or Biden”? If the answer is yes, police shall promptly leave while advising them that they received what they deserved. The only other option is to assign a traitor amongst us who voted the same way against all police interests. Fuck the liberal victims and officers. These officers will never back any of us and will always jeopardize their fellow coworkers.

OT: can someone address what’s going on with the medical section. It is absolutely impossible to get through to anyone there. You have to call them after testing positive but after trying for over two days it’s impossible. I’ve talked to others who say the same exact thing. With everyone falling ill, shouldn’t they have extra people working there so we can actually get a hold of someone when we need our medical section most?
Secondly, how has the department not set up some sort of testing for its members? Some site up north and south or central where we can go and skip the line and get right in with our credentials so we can get a rapid test before we bring the virus to work and spread it to everyone. I waited a week to just be able to get in to get tested. The whole time possibly spreading it to everyone.
Fucking third world department that doesn’t do shit for its members.

I’m more concerned as to why you are so desperate to speak with them? Do they have a cure for you? What do you care if they’re understaffed and overwhelmed? Your unit put you on the medical with a positive test result. So you’re on the medical. You attempted to call and they are unresponsive. Oh well. Not completely out of control, just yet. But, your chances of being a victim have gone up considerably. Even when covid is under control, hopefully by next Fall, the downtown and Gold Coast areas might not recover to what they once were. And many restaurants and theaters will be gone for good.There is one thing that we can count on as being the same, the lousy public schools.

To the 12:41 post..I'm not a police officer. And I know you'd like to get more help and answers for covid testing from the department. But the Physicians Immediate Care offices have rapid Covid testing. Results in 10 min. They only take ppl that have health insurance. Just have to go on their website...pick your location and then pick from the times they have available. They will text you 15 min before your test telling you to arrive in the office . I've already had 2 tests and I was in and out in less than 30min. Didn't pay anything. Good luck. Stay safe.

Why do we need the medical section “most” as you say. They are not Drs. They give no medical advice. They are time off monitors that’s all. Your unit puts you on the medical for Covid not the medical section. If you are relying on them to get better then it’s going to be a very long time. Go see your Dr.

This was tried at the JISC. Total failure.
Instead of court, the offender would be given the workshop. Problem was that if the offender did not show, nothing could be done. The offender could not be re-arrested for not attending because there’s no law on the books that makes it a crime to not attend a workshop, also, the offender could not then be given a court date if they did not attend. Referring the offender to the workshop WAS the punishment. There is no real legal way to enforce it

It's been a minute since I was last in court, but usually the judge said something like "upon successful completion of X program" was the stipulation otherwise you violated the term of "conditional release" and can be brought back in front of the judge OR you returned on X date to show proof to the judge you completed the conditions (program)

The arrests at the JISC were not assigned a court date so the arrestees never went before a judge, and therefore the court did not monitor the kids participation in the program. The intent of the cttv workshop is to keep kids out of court. The kids were assigned the program by the detectives at the JISC.....mandated of course by Lemmer who took any and all discretion away from the detectives. It didn’t matter if the kid was locked up 30 times or had 10 convictions. Lemmer demanded that all kids charged with cttv be assigned the workshop
So of course the first kid assigned the program did not show up and Lemmer threw a shit fit. Lemmer himself took a Sgt to the kids house and threatened to re-arrest the kid if the kid did not participate. Then Lemmer had an idea...just go out to EVERY kids house the day before and threaten them and their parents to participate. Well...Lemmer picked the wrong family to fuck with. This family were related to an alderman who ORDERED Lemmer to stop. Did Lemmer??? Of course not. It took the Law Department to ORDER Lemmer to stop. Finally the law department spoke with the States Attorney’s Office and determined that if CPD chooses to assign a kid to the cttv workshop..THATS IT... that’s the punishment instead of court. If the kid doesn’t show...too fucking bad CPD.

If one is sentenced to community service and does not show up there are generally negative consequences, just as there are for not showing up to those goofy safety classes instead of getting a traffic citation.

You are absolutely fucking wrong. The kid was never assigned a court date so there was no court hearing. There was no finding of guilty or a guilty plea...the kid was not sentenced to the program. CPD signed the kid up to the program. It is a CPD program...ok??? A fucking CPD program and not court mandated. Once CPD signed the kid up, there was no way of then sending the kid to court. If you’re a cop do yourself a favor and take a ride to the JISC one day and talk to a detective

Its worse than you think. The city is trying to make is so almost every Juvenile is diverted instead of court. This includes violent crimes like robbery and battery. Of course they wont put it into any Official document so when it goes bad they can blame the youth Detective. This denies the victim their day in court and takes it out of the court system so the States Attorneys Office can not be held accountable. Unfortunately the current Youth Commander just lets city hall roll over her and call the shots. If you are the victim of a Juvenile crime and voted Democratic then you deserve what happens to you.

Screw that. When you are on the medical you are not required to check your dept email. Just call. You have your phone records to show you called.
