OT …. So tough taking Sgt baby K.H. 3rd watch unit 050 is finally on furlo relieving the troops of his shitty attitude and miserable demeanor. Maybe he should be more concerned about that plot of land he bought in Hawaii for $300K which
He can’t grow a dandelion on instead of whining to the troops in roll call about a previous post on the blog that was 100% accurate regarding the 63 team not taking weapons violations. Who’s complaining now ?
It’s sad… the Lts that I know that would make the best captains didn’t even put in for the spot. They’re so fed up with this department. The ones that we actually want to move up and deserve to move up, they see what actually moves up and are just as disgusted as the rest of us and just don’t want any part of it anymore.
Some things will never change. I see the house mouse brigade is well represented.
Thank G-D that list for Captains is for TRAINING and does not guarantee a promotion. And yes, they can do that. Just ask Johnny G. who remained bitter till the end that he never got promoted. He blamed everyone else when all he had to do was look in the mirror to figure out why he never made it. CA is the only one on that list who deserves to be a Captain. I hope they make him asap.
I’m SMH at this set of promotions, especially in the Captain realm. Most of them were ranked by CPD’s board unqualified. Waller also made Captains in just two weeks of him being here. He made Nakia Fenner Eddie Johnson’s wife a Captain and just made Yvette Wooten who’s been on the Medical her entire Merit Lieutenant years. Blatant favors. You won’t believe who Wooten is connected to.

I made more than a captain for the last 11-12 years that I was on, all while having none of the responsibility and working what averaged out to half days. My only regret? Not sooner understanding what the old timers meant when they told me “kid, you gotta treat this job like it’s a whore”. Meh, better late than never.
DS from 009 doesn’t even have enough time in grade to be eligible for captain class. Its all legit!!!!

He said a modular home no we don’t loan for those because that’s not a home. modular home as people in the know and him who should know is a stick built home that is built offsite and assembled on site.It is not a trailer home, but this moron was clueless! So I went to fifth third bank who I don’t even have an account with immediately said no problem. Let us know how much you need. Finally? Shemash/Potatoes is repaying her old partner Jason Barney for covering for her fuck up while she was in TRU as a young officer. If what she did back then happen today we all know where she would be and yes I have proof of her royal fuck up. Shemash was lucky that Ed O'Donnell was the commander for TRU and fixed her fuck up. The only reason why I'm posting this is because under your watch as commander in 12 one of her officers almost died under your watch and you should be taking care of him but you're not. Maybe I should reveal night at TRU? What do you think SHEMASH? Do the right thing help that officer like they helped you!

It's his cousin. He used to work at the Jiffy Lube.
Boyd isn't qualified to be a police officer but has been merit promoted twice. It will be hard to find a more unqualified person, for any assignment, in this department.
Trak is well qualified to supervise officers on the street. He has 3 years of street experience including his probation time. He will learn the hard way how life is different outside of the academy. I bet he is counting on clout to save him.
All the academy people are always the first to get taken care. DG, Trak, LR…all former instructors but all of them claimed to work the streets. At least one of them left on his own to be an FTO, I’ll give him that.
Remember when the DIO merit pick from 015 posted those signs all over the station calling people out because someone on Twitter said 015 has useless DIOs. Seems like he's gonna be a real level headed supervisor. He'll end up inside like he has his whole career.

His daddy is his clout. His dad sits on the board of directors for the FOP and he has some affiliations with the CPD memorial foundation and the 19th ward Democratic Party.
But Lt. Nick Duckhorn pretends it is all legit. He is on his way to becoming a high ranking boss. Because he is so young.

I know most people piss on merit...but I've also seen questionable people who made it "by score", who ended up going right back to unit/academy and not a SINGLE day on the street...

Yvette Wooten is one to watch. Her craziness dates all the way back to college when she alleged a guy who didn’t want her. Well look it up. She has a long list of bosses including the one that put her in for merit Lieutenant. She was his CAPS Sergeant. She was the queen of use what you got and that’s all she’s got. She threatened all of them to do stuff for her and they did. She had domestic after domestic with coppers in 006 and 007. The bosses that knew knew. What a waste. She’s just going back on the medical as she normally does. Ask her what happened to her 3 fiancés. That’s laughable.

Every day it seems we're wasting away- this will continue until they get rid of merit promotions or at least establish guidelines on what would constitute a merit promotion. Just because you are given 20% for detective and 30% for sergeant and Lieutenant doesn’t mean you have to fill that percentage. The people who get put in for merit should truly deserve it…

1. You volunteered.
2. SWAT is physically demanding. Physically demanding does not equal "better police."
3. We all are constantly putting our lives on the line.
4. Kicking doors is not police work, ask any military veteran.
5. Hard police work is taking a case seeing it through, getting it charged and testifying to your work. SWAT may be a tool employed in that process but that's it.
6. You volunteered.
Honestly, I question the need for SWAT or atleast the need for full time SWAT.

Trak made merit Sergeant after threatening to sue for discrimination. He believes he is the most important person on the department solely for being the only use of force expert for the city. He will cry on the streets and be back at the academy, just like he has been for 90% of his career.

im actually suprised Jon Hein and Wayne De Vries are still on the job much less Deputy Chiefs. I worked with both of them LONG ago, both wernt bad guys, but DAMN, are they trying to do 40-50 years? They both were obviously much heavier than i realized.
JC has been a house mouse at 35th for years, first as a patrolmen in the old DOC. JC went on to get his first merit bump to sergeant. He then went to 007 as the CAPS sergeant almost immediately, shortly thereafter right back to 35th Street into the troubled buildings unit. JC must be an awesome leader because he now gets another merit bump to lieutenant. I guarantee he will be right back in a house mouse spot. Keep doing police work and putting your job on the line so guys and gals like him can keep getting promoted and hidden in nice quiet spots.
As a Sgt myself, I have a piece of advice for the new Sgts. Don't forget where you came from. Don't become what I believe the rank has way too many of, a bunch of self-serving narcissists who believe they are better than a blue shirt. Treat your Officers with respect. You'll find out that you won't need to tell them to do something. Ask them, and if you treat them with the respect they deserve, they will do it without you needing to tell them.
Don't look to drop paper on Coppers for nonsense. These Officers already have a tough enough job without a Sgt who wants to hammer them for nonsense.
I am shunned by other Sgts, been bullied and mistreated by my fellow Sgts, and not been invited to their club. I've been told that I need to graduate to a white shirt. Sorry, I'll stay true to who I am. You can have your club.

MG getting merit? They made a whole order about not tasing people from elevated positions after she chased dude through traffic and tased dude on a fence. Only on CPD can you f up so bad they make an order because of what you did.
