For the new readers, welcome. For the old readers, welcome back. We'll try to keep you entertained and informed. This is us, accept no substitutes. 

Yes, we're back. For how long? Well....about that.

Blogging is like riding a bicycle. You don't really forget it. But while we were away, bicycles changed. Some good changes, some not so good. This is going to be a slow process of getting back on two wheels. Bear with us.

One of the bad changes we noticed right away - we've gotten "trigger warnings" all over our archives - at least 34 and climbing every hour. These run back YEARS. Posts from 2008 are being tagged, we assume by AI robots. We aren't sure why (yet) and we'll be exploring for a bit. If you see a trigger warning, you can safely guess there is probably some bad language at the very least. The robot emails tell us that readers get a warning and can click through, but we haven't tested it. The same AI will probably be doing something to the comments. We imagine they call this "progress."

Another change - since our email (sccmaillist@yahoo.com) was inactive for over a year, automatic delete features kicked in, emptying out archives, contact lists, pretty much everything. On one hand, it spared us going through a lot of backlog (two-and-one-half years.) On the other, we lost a lot of historical and hysterical material. 

As we said, this is going to be a bit of a process. We're already at a few hundred comments with barely time to screen them all, and we aren't even sure what the platform will allow us to publish. We fully expect that the AI robots will be working hard to restrict what we can say, how we can say it, what we can link to and ultimately, ban us from existence. 

This is the "new normal." Dissent will not be tolerated, at least not on Google platforms. As always, we are exploring other options, perhaps paying for a server not in this country with a more liberal view toward freedom of opinion. Everything is on the table.

In the meantime, feel free to email us tips, clues and pictures of Department stupidity, political malfeasance and clout-run-amok. We're seen that list of finalists for Supernintendo and you can color us unimpressed. Right away, we spotted three or four scandals in the background. Not much has changed.
