The Oakland chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People called upon city leaders to declare a state of emergency on crime, stop defunding the police, and prosecute people who commit serious crimes.
In a written, open letter, Cynthia Adams, president of the Oakland branch of the NAACP, and Bishop Bob Jackson, senior pastor at Acts Full Gospel Church, spoke out against lawlessness in Oakland, California, where crime has risen 14% year over year, according to the Oakland Police Department.
“Failed leadership, including the movement to defund the police, our District Attorney’s unwillingness to charge and prosecute people who murder and commit life threatening serious crimes, and the proliferation of anti-police rhetoric have created a heyday for Oakland criminals,” wrote Adams and Jackson. “Our 911 system does not work. Residents now know that help will not come when danger confronts them.”
Adams and Jackson also directed attention toward self-censorship against calling for more action against crime.
“We urge African Americans to speak out and demand improved public safety. We also encourage Oakland’s White, Asian, and Latino communities to speak out against crime and stop allowing themselves to be shamed into silence,” wrote Adams and Jackson.
In reverse order:
- After years of telling White, Asian and Latino citizens that they were racist for even daring to notice who was actually committing the vast majority of crime, NOW you want them to speak up?
- After years of claiming "over-policing," electing crime friendly DA's, electing politicians who promised to rein in police, and a pretty solid three years of demanding to defund cops, NOW you want better politicians, district attorneys who imprison criminals, competent dispatching and a fully-funded police department?
- After a 14% increase in crime, NOW you want change....but in the other direction?
H.L. Mencken once said, "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."
Prime example: Oakland.

I mentioned this elsewhere today. The Somali Marxist US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar won her general election with 75% of the vote in Minneapolis Minnesota in 2022. But she barely won her 2022 primary with 50% of the Democrat voters. Don Samuels, an old line Black Civil Rights activist and former councilman. Samuels fought against the Defund the Police movements in Minneapolis and the City Charter Amendment that was going to gut the minimum number of Minneapolis police officers.
Samuels fought all the way to the Minnesota Supreme Court to force the Minneapolis mayor and city council to hire the legally required number of police officers. It was like 150 more in a force of about 630 current officers.
Many Blacks understand they are most likely victims of Black on Black crimes. Many normal Black people want to be safe too.
I heard the problem is the Oakland criminals are now going into the Oakland Hills neighborhoods and doing crimes there, where the rich Black People live. Rich Black people hate low class Black criminals more than rich white liberals hate Black criminals and Black Crime.
So. You mean to tell me they, the naacp, called for blacks to avoid Florida but calling for help in Oakland due to mainly black crime? I’m trying to understand.
This letter received minimal press… but frankly it is the same old song. Point the finger outward, not inward. It is the fault of the political leadership, it is the fault of the DA’s office, it is the fault of the “a failed 911 system”, it is the fault of other ethnic groups not speaking out, blah, blah blah, blah blah. How about writing about; the demise of the family structure in society, the pushing out of God in your lives, the failure to educate and read to your children at a young age, teaching children at a young age about a strong “work ethic,” demonstrating a respect for “your elders” and Country to your youth, etc. The goes for ALL ethnic groups in society. Now if Oakland’s NAACP wrote about that, that would be news.

Seventy-three police officers were murdered in 2021, out of a national law enforcement body of well under 700,000 officers. In 2021, police killed 177 blacks total (6 unarmed), out of a total of 47 Million blacks in the USA. This information comes from the Washington Times Database. Assuming that about 40% of those cop killings were committed by blacks — which has been the historical average — a police officer was 400 times as likely to be killed by a black criminal in 2021 as an unarmed black American was to be killed by a police officer. A police officer was 110x more likely to be killed by a black, than a black (either armed or unarmed) was likely to be killed by police.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Monday that there's no longer room for migrants to stay in the city, stating that the city is at a boiling point.
Adams made the comments during a violence prevention task force briefing on Monday alongside several city and state officials, including Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul.
"Our next phase of this strategy, now that we have run out of room, we have to figure out how we're going to localize the inevitable that there's no more room indoors," Adams said.
"Here's where we are right now. Yes, there were people sleeping in cooling vans. There were people along the sidewalk. We have to localize this madness. We have to figure out a way of how we don't have what's in other municipalities where you have tent cities all over the city," Adams said.

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Hundreds of migrants have been moved from temporary shelters in City Colleges and a police station.
Migrants staying at the temporary shelters at Daley College on the Southwest Side and Wilbur Wright College on the Northwest Side have been moved to the American Islamic College on Irving Park Road near the Lakefront. That’s ahead of reopening to students.
Others who had been staying at the First District Police Station at 18th and State were moved to the Broadway Armory Park Fieldhouse in the Edgewater neighborhood.
A volunteer who works with the migrants suggested those moved out of the police station may have been moved for appearance purposes, ahead of Lollapalooza. They told the Sun-Times the same thing was done during NASCAR.

CPS recently announced it’s using Roberto Clemente Community Academy High School as a pilot enrollment center for the city’s illegal immigrants. The Johnson administration said it wants “to ensure better educational outcomes.”
That won’t be easy. At Clemente, just 5 of every 100 students are proficient in reading. For math, it’s just 2 in every 100 students. What’s worse, a full 70 out of every 100 students at the high school scored nowhere near reading proficiency on the SAT.
With results like that, the new arrivals would probably be better off not entering CPS at all.
