Contrarian Articles

A couple of good ones hit the Contrarian website these part few days.

First up, who is really behind Crimesha's reign of error:

  • Cook County prosecutor’s war on Chicago Police proves the revolution will be televised

Despite the best efforts of Chicago media to protect the most corrupt prosecutor in the country, Kim Foxx’s malevolence and dark designs for the very system she purportedly represents occasionally sneaks out.

Marty Preib outlines numerous failed prosecutions of cops for bullshit reasons. Crimesha's record of crap cases failing at trial rival those of Mosby in Baltimore who indicted six officers and tried three for the death of Freddie Gray. After losing all three trials, she dropped the charges against the other rest. She was sued by all of the involved officers and was recently declared "indigent" and is now facing numerous charges herself.

The second article is in regard to the Gang Database being tossed: (link corrected)

  • On September 7, 2023, Chicago’s interim Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA) voted down a plan for the Chicago Police Department (CPD) to inaugurate a modernized gang database. A unanimous vote of the seven-member CCPSA, by casting ballots against CPD maintaining any record of gang members, the panel overseeing CPD has hamstrung police power in the fight against gang crime and made law-abiding residents considerably less safe.

The apogee of a six-year battle waged by a coalition of community groups and Chicago’s anti-police movement, the campaign to end CPD’s gang database began in earnest in 2017 with protests alleging the gang directory was flawed and portrayed minorities as wholly responsible for the city’s stupefying violence. Following two years of obnoxious, overwrought sneering from community activists, the then-Inspector General for the City of Chicago, Joe Ferguson, completed a sweeping review of the gang database.

Florian Sohnke dives into the creation  and modifications of the database, how it was used and the "progressive" movement's drive to purge it from existence, hamstringing all sorts of investigations based on gang histories and associations.

Go read the articles at the Contrarian website - link on the right hand side.

Just like the states, attorney takes the word of felons that have been arrested numerous times over the police then we have this man from United States government making this statement and giving away $100 million to the terrorists that did all of this carnage in Israel to innocent civilians

Q: How will you ensure none of the $100M for Gaza/West Bank "ends up in the hands of Hamas?"

DEP. NSA JON FINER: "It involves securing an understanding among Hamas..."

Q: We should "take the word of Hamas...?"

FINER: "We believe there is an understanding

As usual, there is no new information in an article by Martin Preib, just a rehash of easily available stuff from other sources. Too bad his investigative skills are not any better than the one-sided drivel put out by the msm. His columns are repetitive and so lacking in insight and any below-surface probing that it’s hard to take him seriously. I’m still waiting for the writers at the Contrarian to do a real investigative piece instead of the hack jobs purporting to be real journalism. Preib and his cohorts are just as ridiculous as the msm, just from a different angle.

Whoever is being falsely charged: PLEASE sue Foxx into the poorhouse. It's the only way prosecutorial abuse and harrassment of police officers can be stopped. Can the union pay for the lawyers?

And Repubs: Quit nominating goofballs for the the state's attorney job. Try to find another Jack O'Malley.

Without the gang database (and because so few are actually getting arrested now) how many street gang members will be joining the ranks of the CPD in the near future? By 2025 we will be seeing Chicago cops shooting each other in the parking lot or stabbing each other in the weight room. Lots of guns recovered on the street won’t be getting inventoried either. This department is irredeemable.

“Please sue Foxx.” Love when people say this. At what point are people going to realize judges and prosecutors have immunity and can’t be sued for their lousy decisions…

The idea of a gang database is somewhat useful but not necessary. The guys who work the street and are interested know who is who. Setting up a new gang database will just set up the department for a new lawsuit in 10 years by some other set of jagoff claiming it's racist, the department will settle and impose some new set of absurd regulations on itself, like the consent decree. It's just another way for the left to make language vague so it's losses it's impact. How dare you vilify the Latin Kings? They are a not a criminal street gang they are a Hispanic Community Activist group.

Deleting the the gang database is tantamount to tossing sealed DNA of unsolved murders. Simply illogical, but not surprising in race-obsessed Chicago.

BTW, watching now an interesting video just posted Sat morning on YouTube: "Ex Chicago Cop Speaks Out" (retired lieutenant John Garrido) w/ Pater Santenello during a ride & walk around the city. John is pretty much a straight shooter who talks about race based promotions and nepotism, street crime, migrants etc. Worth the time. https://youtu.be/VWdsK3toLjM?si=NOTlE5ukcLufRRId

Qualified Immunity. She cannot be sued for doing any prosecutions or not doing any prosecutions.

Who passed such a stupid law? No one. The judges created qualified immunity.

25 years ago they hired a F/1 whose father was a documented leader of a south side gang. At the time a F/1 was living with a dope dealer and documented gang member. while living with this dope dealer, numerous positive warrants were conducted at her residence. CPD had to hire her.

Proof that you just can’t please everyone.
Contrarian writers do a great job and I’m grateful for what they come up with.
I check them daily. Only time I’m a little disappointed is not seeing a new topic after a few days…but I do understand why.
Other than that -please continue to do what you do, The Contrarian, CWB and saving the best for last, SCC!

-----------

Police used to have this immunity as well. But the lawyers wanted to sue law enforcement along with municipalities, but protected all lawyers. Because we're just dumb cops & money was to be made at the expense of everything.

I'm just a civilian, but QI seems like a slap in the face to the constitution (our contract between the people and their government). Holding our elected officials accountable is the whole premise of the 2A. Which should include "in a court of law" too because gun rights are a joke against the fire power the government has.

What the hell are judges doing legislating anyway, maybe that's the guy people need to start out with suing. Not being able to hold them accountable any other way then voting is a mockery.

I mentioned this before and no one seemed to pick up on it and most of the cops around in Chicago at the time are probably retired, but in the late 70s/early 80s Chicago police officers at roll call started to notice new officers were passing gang signs. After an investigation, CPD realized they were being infiltrated by gang members. To combat this, CPD required new applicants be a minimum 23 years old and have 60 college credit hours.

Once CPD felt the situation was under control, CPD reduced the minimum age back to 21 years, but kept the 60 credit hours with exceptions.

So, if people today believe that CPD cannot be infiltrated, they are wrong, because it has happened before. Talk to some of the street cops who were on the job back then to get the straight story.

BTW, this didn’t only happen in CPD; it was happening in a lot of departments, especially those with lowered standards, such as Miami FL … that made national headlines.
