Vigilantes usually come about in a power vacuum. Such a vacuum was created when the police were severely restricted in blue cities. The criminals were first to exploit this and the honest citizens necessarily follow searching for justice and peace.

I’m in and out of homan square, the black site, all day. Even if there is a legit election and Trump wins (and I hope he does) he will have trouble getting all of his big talking promises done. The basic basis for humans living to the adage, to live and let live, is mutually valued rules to abide by.
This is not rocket science, nor is it a secret.
Do not do to another what you want no other to ever do to you.
Does not require empathy, sympathy, nor any charitable quality, just pure common sense.
When someone disregards this basic rule, that someone has forfeited any claim to that rule being applied to them.
The politicals rarely give a shit about this rule.
So, also, do the criminals.
The essence of vigilante' action is to not submit to anyone not abiding by this rule.
The basis of valid law is this.
The valid function of police is to assist in the adherence to this rule by those who do not adhere to it.
The best outcome for those who disregard this rule is for the police to act, and the worst for them is for the individual to have to act.
The police abide by rules defining their actions.
The not police have only the rules they choose to have, primarily to not submit to those who disregard the do not do unto others rule.
As things presently are hereabouts, best to avoid involving the police if you find your chosen rules to act upon to not submit are in conflict with the rules police abide by.
This presuming you don't get yourself killed doing so, tho should you get yourself killed doing so, well, you won't be concerned about anything here then.

I’m going with the theory that you don’t have a service stripe yet. Quite a few of us did our time on the street. If they got rid of those positions then 1: we would simply retire causing a drain on the pension with no measurable increase in manpower, or 2: retire and come back to the same positions as the retirees. Again no increase in manpower.

That was talked about for the last couple of years to put more coppers on the street but the house mouse is cried about it and this is what happened. This is what happened with the constitutional policing. The private company retired coppers came in to teach at the inside house mouses wanted to bring their friends and family into it so they got rid of it the contract and they brought about 90 more coppers inside just like how many coppers are on Brandon detail there as well over 100 most of them are security specialist, making Sgt pay some are commanders getting commanders pay the worst part is they are getting the Pension’s at that rate ripping off the pension fun
Save it with we did our time earning those positions. Most people at the academy, constuitonal policing, CAPS, Recruitment and retention etc have lesss than 5 years on. You were hired to push a beat car not sit behind a desk. If you don't want to do the bear minimum and answer jobs then quit or reitre. Every beat car should be filled including rapids and wagons.

Civilians should remember the acronym SEWS:
Situation: What happened to cause you to draw and fire. “He was breaking into my house through the window.”
Evidence: Make sure that responding officers have a chance to secure evidence appropriately. “He had a crowbar, it’s right there.”
Witnesses: Make sure that responding officers can identify witnesses and ask them what happened. “My neighbor across the street saw.”
Shut Up: After taking care of those three things, stop talking. “Officer, I’m scared, I’d like to speak to an attorney before I answer any questions.”
Citizens give the government power so as not to have vigilantism. There is an understanding that the government enacts and enforces laws impartially and, in return, strong and capable men will allow the government to enforce the laws. When the state abdicates it’s duty the social contract is null and void and, at that point, good citizens are forced into being their own protectors. What we are heading towards is not vigilantism. I don’t know what you call it but vigilantism is when citizens take the law and, more specifically, punishment, into their own hands. Our city and good portion of our country have grown corrupt, prejudicial and tyrannical, while also being derelict in their duties of protecting the innocent and punishing criminals.
Stand by - this current trajectory is unsustainable. We are being pushed into a second ci**l w@r. Funny how in a free society we have to be worried about AI/algorithms for free speech.

It works in LA. Part time 1 and Partime 2, can work with one full-time officer, or in a squad under a Sgt, at special events. Part time patrol three are certified completely either previous full time or other department, can work alone in a car, or motor bike..
All are armed reserve officers get the same training over of time on weekends and week nights.
Many retire from the LAPD and work as reserves, one or two days a month.

It’s all over TikTok but you can watch the full videos at COPA’s website under Case Portal for the Sep 2nd case. This could have been so much worse! The two officers easily could have shot themselves in their panic and the female shooter doubled back behind the clueless officers in the alley (as seen on the POD video) because they had no idea which way she fled. Instead of keeping the offender in sight or putting rounds on target they were more concerned about their phones and looking for shell casings. “I ain’t working overtime anymore.” Utterly embarrassing.

Saw the BWC, the female should be ashamed she cannot unjam her level 1/level 2 malfunction. Can be she hasn't cleaned her firearm, doesn't care to check her firearm weekly/biweekly nor have the strength to stay in the fight. Or the biggest issue, she doesn't know how to unjam her firearm..
