- Speaking of unhinged bullies, JCat and his cult have been contacting the units of members who dare question them to see if the bosses are sure that these members are "still welcome," in these units. So now the people we pay to protect us are actively trying to get us dumped!? Good thing these wannabe mafioso's aren't as powerful as they think they are.
Phone call units are just that - you serve at the pleasure of whomever has the biggest whack/juice/clout. It's a political game, and the FOP ought not be wasting any political leverage they possess on petty revenge high school popularity contest bullshit.

Which is why J-Kitty convened an emergency board meeting and instructed the 1412 Cult to approve asinine restrictions in response to members wishing to view such documentation: two weeks notice via email request. Two, 2 hour viewing windows. No more than two members at a time under the watchful eye of a FLOP representative. No taking pix. No taking notes.
Now mind you… these documents are OUR documents - they belong to the US, the membership. No such restrictions have ever existed under any other FLOP regime. At the last general meeting, Johnny Boy made sure it was explained as a new “rule” to protect sensitive information, not a circumvention of bylaws or past practice. He even went out of his way to announce that one of the lodge’s attorneys was present; this was surely theater to dissuade any opposition.
So one must wonder why King Katanzara is going through such great lengths to keep inquiring minds from inquirin’. What the hell are they hiding from the membership? At minimum, this reeks of retaliation after being legitimately called out on prior bullshit. What’s worse, it hints at something completely scandalous.
And when phone calls are made to a units upper management to suggest that someone may have “overstayed their welcome”? Well, that’s when people wind up as named offenders on GOCR’s for Intimidation and Harassment by Telephone, just for starters.
Petty revenge is an understatement when it comes to a J-Kitten scorned. Anyone who dares question him is met with a barrage of various defense mechanisms. And it speaks volumes.

Whatever happened to putting our heroes into these phone call units or even promoting them to Sgt or Det??? There is no reason Yanez isn’t made a Sgt. At the very minimum he should be honorarily put into any unit of his choice. I understand Danny Golden was honorarily put into a nice unit but why not make him a boss and get him set up financially for the future. These guys are selfless heroes and need our help.

These types of units you are referring to have always had reserved “juice, clouted, or phone-call” slots, you know that when you use your clout, juice, or phone call to get that spot. These units are run, overseen, managed, or supervised by juice, clout, and phone call bosses. The bosses know they are in these spots until their juice, phone call, or clout runs out, or they step on their dicks. Same ole circus, new clowns.

Fyi, the union has an audit committee and the results of their findings are available to any member. You can also go to a general meeting and see for yourself the actual financial report given by the treasurer. By the way, who would pay for the full financial investigation that you seek? Would it come out of our dues or your pocket only? Save your money and everyone’s time. I have actually served on the Board under previous administrations, and from what I've heard, this is NOT the same process. When members requested to view the minutes, which would sometimes happen right after a General Meeting with no prior notification, we would take them to the room where the ledgers were kept and let them go through them. We did not feel the need to monitor our members or search them for phones or "note-taking material".
I can only assume this is one of the current Board of Director Officers speaking, and am surprised at this behavior. When I first heard about what was going on down there I dismissed it as rumors but responses like this and previous ones solidify it for me. I hope this person uncovers whatever it is you guys are hiding and puts it out there for the rest of us to see. While I didn't support John during his first election, I did the second. I won't make that mistake again. Hindsight is always 20/20.

I did work in the City Council for eight years and when something needed to be addressed I knew that if I brought it out I was gonna be transferred out . Fast forward years later and I was along with Bob Bartlett in charge of legal defense . The FOP had an attorney who represented three officers in criminal proceedings . All three had something in common they were found guilty and went to jail . Now I am at a crossroads do I keep silent and do nothing or make changes and ultimately risk being voted out of office . I did the latter because unlike far too many people who were elected to office it’s easier to get along and go along . I argued with Lori Lightfoot and pointed out to her and the entire City Council what was wrong with the Police Board and her progressive agenda .
The majority of people who get elected are because they are infamous or well liked and not because of their qualifications . Most people who don’t know make their decision on you based on what other people tell them . When my time at FOP ended I stayed on and passed on all that I had learned to the persons who took my place . In three years I mediated over two hundred cases saving officers from having to go before a Police Board which as we know isn’t police friendly . I make no apologies for what I did because the FOP legal defense is one of the best in the country because of Bob Bartlett and I . Greg Bella once told me that when persons running against you can’t attack you for what you have done they attack you personally . I still help out police officers seeking assistance four years later !
