More Rumors!
Been getting quite a few rumors lately (there's even one about 15 lieutenants and 50 sergeants before Christmas!), and we're happy to get to the bottom of them, either proving or disproving them. Like this one from potato-brain's visit today:
- So HQ had offered an overtime initiative for 9 Nov 2023 for Detectives, for Amtrak-Joe's visit to the city. Apparrently the deadline kept getting extended until 8 Nov 2023 as no one was signing up. So now HQ will have to use 7 on duty Sgts and Detectives to make sure Amtrak-Joe doesnt get lost.
For once a group took a stand and told HQ to go pound sand.
Merit all the way Larry gets in and starts sending OT initiatives but, then wants us to work when he ways OT is ok.
We all know the city/cpd is diverting Federal funds for community safety and using it for illegal housing, cell phones, overpriced food from connected vendors as well as medical care at unheard of rates.
Quite frankly (and it's been said here a thousand times) the only way to get adequate staffing is to stop selling your body and soul to the Department to paper over manpower shortages. But we will say, paying off long term debt, student loans and a nice set of wheels is a plus.

How about this rumor…
The mayors detail has grown so big it’s actually the size of a district now. It has the same amount of personnel as some of the north side districts. All for one man. Heard the union is now fighting to make it biddable spots. The 80/20 rule. 80% bid and 20% management. Right now it’s totally and completely a phone call unit. I couldn’t agree more with the FOP on this one. They’ve got commanders, lieutenants, numerous sgts and over 100 PO’s. They get paid the same as the rest of the department to do nothing. Don’t answer calls, sit and watch Netflix, oops, I meant his house. That could be a great spot to bid to if you were close to retiring.
Special Employment is also a great way to stay MAXED OUT in deferred comp.
It's going up to $23,000 in 2024. $30,500 if you're over 50.
WORK HARD NOW and SAVE or tomorrow you will be eating dog food when the pension collapses.

Early Thursday morning I heard that Amtrak Joe (“Joey Baby”)(did he tell that phony story again?)was coming into Chicago for a fund raiser after another function in Belvedere, Il.
I was going out and did not want to get caught up in any related traffic jams. So I checked all the news stations, they all said he was coming to Chicago but gave no areas to avoid. Later in the evening I heard on the radio that he was met by protesters in West Town. So how do the protesters know where to find him but the general public doesn’t??

Why not just pull people from BJ's security team? They actually have some experience, and you know BJ will have his nose up Senile Joe's backside the entire visit, so they can do both jobs at the same time.

You’re right again, but sending my children to schools that are not indoctrinations centers and they give them a crap education plus now they’re full of illegal children who are not vaccinated for anything who knows what diseases they’re bringing it’s well worth it to work initiatives in order to have my children go to Christian schools. No I don’t have the jacked up jeep have an old car take care of our home but our kids are our priority. If the initiatives go away there is so much part-time work. I’m having no problems my family is thriving. A man takes care of his family. That is what a man does!
Seems CPD is getting rather top heavy with bosses.

Just heard 20-25 Lts in a class to start the week after thanksgiving.
That's not enough personnel to keep Bad Touch Joe from wandering off, sniffing hair, and fondling little girls.
It appears that the department has been attempting to avoid canceling rdo by seeking volunteers. When they don't get enough they cancel. The department is shorthanded since no one wants this job. So be prepared for rdo cancelations coming back.

All these promotions, when are they going to promote commander Brennan from 024? He should have made deputy chief by now. He's been passed up so many times. They should promote him before he retires.

Scc, how about the inspectors coming into district roll calls and gigging everyone on uniform? Yes, you should not look like shit I get it. But, instead of hitting the backbone why don’t inspectors start at HQ AND THE RECRUITMENT SECTION. officers with less then 4 years on posting videos for recruitment, all have beards, dreads, nail polish, earrings… a joke!

Regarding the mayors detail. Officers receive Sgts pay while being assigned to that detail. It’s also pensionable. The few things they don’t get is the supervisor quarterly or .75 comp time per day worked….
Hearing promotion class of Lts and Sgts coming. Heard 25 Lts and possible as many as 50 Sgts to begin class before end of the year. More detectives are lined up after the new year.
Detective John Reppas should be the best sergeant ever! Go ask him, he'll be parke all night at the Lane Tech parking lot.

Dear diary, well it’s been quite some time since my last entry… oh the joys I’ve had! Finished my time in the fighting 019. It got crazy there let me tell you! Don’t worry though my experience of working my probation in the oh one one Filmore pulled me through all the drama. Survived the great mustachioed warlord Mike Ryan. Survived the first wave of 3rd district refugees, survived guarding the great Rahm. All things come to an end though and it was time to go west, a district undisclosed for my safety. The great gazoo Lori Longfella is still hunting me. Now we are under the thumb of Aurora Brandon ya’ll! Department changed hands from G-Mac to “Sloppy Job” Johnson to RuPaul Brown and now our favorite gym teacher is running the department. Fear not though, I hear rumor that the next first deputy will be none other than Don Jerome! The fun times are still coming! Until next time!

If you like the overtime. Do not become a Detective already cut our deployments and now talk of cutting more. Stay patrol make the money without inbox. Used to be a great spot.
