Another Sentencing Debacle

With assistance from the legislature, the Bureau of Prisons and a bunch of other politicos:

  • On Wednesday, six years to the day after he was shot and nearly killed by a Chicago police officer that he pinned between two cars while trying to escape in a stolen SUV, Kayin Wise was back in court.

Prosecutors say he was one of three people who crashed in a stolen car that burst into flames as a federal law enforcement helicopter surveilled them from the air. Cops say they found four handguns, two of which were stolen, inside the car.

But let’s start at the beginning, on May 24, 2017.

You can read the entire story over at the CWB blog, but in summary:

  • arrested in 2017 after being shot while pinning a 015 District PO between two cars
  • convicted of numerous felonies in 2019 relating to the attempted murder of the cop
  • sentenced to twelve years
  • out in less than six

How about an actual "truth in sentencing" law be run up the flagpole in Springfield so everyone can see exactly which politicians are coddling criminals and causing past, current and future mayhem on the streets.

Truth in sentencing is racist.

Punishment is racist.

Laws are racist.

It’s pretty apparent nowadays what drives the morality and order of society nowadays, and it certainly ain’t common sense.

Riddle me this Batman:
Last Thursday this blog had a piece on “Oppose this parole”?
The material was to be sent to ASA,
Didn’t Foxx’s office remain neutral and then she said the office would stop appearing at parole hearings?
Will the office show up at this hearing or/ and what will it do with the emails it received?

"How about an actual "truth in sentencing" law . . "

Because that would be racist and not equitable to people of color.

Remember when we were told it was cost prohibitive to keep violent criminals incarcerated for a full term. It cost way to much exclaimed the bleeding heart progressive marxists. Less costly alternatives was the solution to incarceration we were told. The only time leftist extremists in power were concerned about spending tax dollars.

Tens of thousands of foreign invaders have infiltrated into the city. Seems lots of money was found to house new arrivals. Unlike the criminals that are wreaking havoc and instilling fear in our city who should be given a court ordered housing voucher for the county jail or the corrections facilities.

NY state just released two Mafia hit men convicted of several murders including decapitations and dismembering victims. They were linked to possibly 75 additional murders and both were sentenced to life plus 20. Out in 35. Justice system? No such thing.

6 years later back in court...

Yet Derek Chauvin was arrested, indicted, arraigned, tried and convicted in 326 days. Sentenced 66 days later.

The Criminal inJustice system work very fast when it is slam-dunking someone.
