For the first time in at least eight months, no asylum seekers were being housed in Chicago police district buildings as of Saturday morning, according to the city.
Nearly 190 new arrivals were still awaiting shelter placement at O’Hare Airport, but the clearing of CPD stations marks an ebb in a crisis that has exhausted city resources and highlighted racial tensions across Chicago.
In mid-October, a peak of about 3,300 asylum seekers were living inside or outside police stations, though the 24th District had been clear since July 21, officials said.
Mayor Brandon Johnson had pledged to move the asylum seekers to other shelters before winter, which officially begins next week.
We've had numerous e-mails about the damage left behind. Not just the bugs and smells, but the camping in the lobbies of many of these new stations with heating units by the windows? Seems the illegals bent, broke and disabled many of the thermostats. pipes and wires regulating temps, so lobbies are either iceboxes or saunas at the cost of tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The tent city is no more. O'Hare is empty, but the buses keep coming.

There's nothing quite like the lingering smell of Venezuelan ass on a cold Chicago morning.
About a dozen or so refused the new shelters and have set up their own tent city across from 025 in the court lot. They had a fire going the other night, looked rather festive.
Why can’t it just be “sparking tensions across the city” notice how they always use buzzwords like “racial”.
Don’t worry they’ll be back but in a limited capacity no more than 25 per district implemented when all shelters are at capacity and/or as soon as winter is over. Women and children will get dibs on shelters so expect men of military fighting age to be back soon.

At the rate they are coming in for the next 13 months the city is running out of places to put them. Even so, the Democrats want more. They could close the border easily but not until they change the demographics of the USA. They will be back in the stations after a few more surges.
This whole boarder crossing by illegals has to stop. How about let the illegals go to Alder-people’s offices or city hall. I believe the whole let illegals become police stuff is because they are living at the police stations while staying in Chicago.
The sweet smell of budissy comes to mind every where they go is bound to become a cesspool for all kinds of diseases along with mayhem and busloads of more are on their way

I hate to sound like a bad Christian but housing "itchy and scratchy" in Fort Apache was a huge mistake.You came to the USA with no plan. You get free money and food, it's not enough. I heard that we (the stations) were supposed to get a "Deep Cleaning" after the illegals trashed our facilities but haven't seen that happen yet!! There are little black flies all over our station which are multiplying everyday and becoming a nuisance. Black marks still on the floor where they slept, still have a stench in the lobby (something a good pine sol could help with), The windows are filthy, you can see all the handprints on them like it was art, and they broke our ATM, now which has been removed at all stations...are we going to get new ATM in the stations, like a chase bank one???
